00:00Uh, Crowder is boots on the ground in Detroit.
00:03He witnessed the dolphins lions joint practice.
00:09Yes.
00:10And from what I'm reading, I'll read a couple of things from what I'm reading.
00:14It didn't necessarily look great for the fins necessarily goodness gracious.
00:22Was that bad?
00:23It was noticeably bad.
00:24It was like, you could tell the talent on the, on the lion side, like, um, Amon, Amon Ross St.
00:34Brown one-on-ones, he went seven for seven.
00:38No one on the dolphins could cover him just was eating them up, had seven touchdowns and
00:43seven attempts.
00:44So is it more a Testament to who the lions are than who the dolphins are then that's kind
00:50of what, but even in the 11 or 11 stuff, like the quarterbacks were running for their lives.
00:55Like everybody, Quinn Hewers and, and Zach Wilson threw a couple of picks to, I had to
01:01get out the pocket.
01:02As soon as they snapped the ball, the, I wouldn't say they got out physical, but you could tell
01:07there's more talent on the, on the lion side.
01:09The front seven is good.
01:10Front seven can play, but the secondary and that old line, our concerns were concerns.
01:16By the way, chop Robinson, we all know was carted off.
01:20Solana has let us know that chop Robinson Instagrammed out himself.
01:24It's not that serious.
01:25Right.
01:25Is that what he said?
01:26Like, uh, I'll be fine.
01:27Something along those lines.
01:28He said, um, he said, it's not serious y'all.
01:31I'm good.
01:32So that was nerve wracking.
01:34I'm not going to lie.
01:35Like you, you, you feel like this team is cursed.
01:38That was nerve wracking.
01:40Great news from chop Robinson himself that it's not that serious.
01:44I'm starting to feel like people just want to get on the cart.
01:48We used, you used to, you'd have to break your leg to get carted off.
01:53Now a guy dislocates his pinky and gets bring out the cart.
01:57Yeah.
01:57Leave that cart over there in the corner.
01:59I'll give you an official training camp report.
02:02It's sponsored by Miami Dade County public schools, technical colleges, MDCPS technical

02:22Um, this is what Nick bomb Gardner tweeted out a series of tweets.
02:27He writes about the lions for the athletic, as you said, they weren't out physical.
02:32Here's how he describes it.
02:35Lions just out everything to the dolphins for two hours out here as lopsided a joint NFL
02:41practice as I've ever seen.
02:44Then he follows that up with a tweet that says, I'm on Ross St.
02:49Brown caught just about every target thrown at him, including a crazy sideline TD where
02:55he caught it one handed and pinned it to the DB's head before ripping it away from him for
03:01a score dominant day for Detroit.
03:05And his final tweet in the series says, biggest takeaway for me is that Detroit's first defense
03:11looks legit.
03:12Miami did nothing offensively in the red zone in team.
03:17Nothing.
03:18This was the best lion.
03:20The lions offense has looked in a practice and it's no coincidence.
03:24They didn't have to take reps versus their own D today.
03:28So he hit it on the bottom guard and hit it on the head.
03:33The defense offense looked bad.
03:35The defense, I guess in the front seven, when they were trying to run the ball in 11 on
03:3911, like they will make sealer was making plays.
03:42The linebackers, Willie Gay and Dodson and them boys, they can, they can play.
03:47Nick Chubb was making plays, but on that other field, the offense, they got choked out.
03:53Like, honestly, they might've gave up 10 sacks today if it was full speed football.
03:59See, uh, see a little scrambling from Tua in the regular season, bet the overs.
04:04You would have loved today then.
04:06Cause if you want to see Tua run, he was running around a lot back there.
04:11Tyreek, Tyreek didn't practice.
04:13Wada only did 11 on 11 stuff.
04:15He didn't do any one-on-ones, but it was a, it was a tough day offensively.
04:19And then that second day, I'm telling Amon Ross St.
04:23Brown is Jerry Rice.
04:25Yeah.
04:25He made him look like Jerry Rice today.
04:27You know why?
04:30Jack Jones was on him.
04:32No Coca-Cola.
04:33I told him.
04:34He drinks Coca-Cola.
04:35Coca-Cola is a magical elixir.
04:37Amon Ross St.
04:37Brown, the only guy who's figured it out.
04:40When you catch a touchdown and smile at everybody, like he smiled at the DBs.
04:46Like, oh my goodness.
04:47So they little boyed the Dolphins.
04:50The offensively.
04:52Yeah.
04:52They little boyed that Detroit defense little boyed the Dolphins today.
04:56All right.
04:57Well, you know what they say.
04:58Get them back tomorrow.
04:59Three game series.
05:00Got the today, tomorrow, and then the game on Saturday.
05:04Three game series.
05:06They're still in this thing.
05:07Dolphins.
05:09But you know, it was another tweet y'all sent.
05:11Is it just an NFC championship team that we're playing and we haven't won a playoff game in 25 years?
05:19Because, like, you're playing a very, very good roster, franchise, you know, well-coached team.
05:26And the Dolphins aren't that.
05:27Somebody said today.
05:28I believe we are, though.
05:29That's the part that shocks me from this.
05:31And I know you guys are going to laugh.
05:32But I think we do have a good roster.
05:34I think they're a well-coached team.
05:36And, again, do I think Mike McDaniels is as good a head coach as Dan Campbell?
05:41No.
05:41I can look at Dan Campbell's record.
05:43But I know that they rave about Anthony Weaver as a defensive coordinator.
05:46I don't think the Dolphins are a poorly coached team.
05:49I don't think they're a poorly constructed team.
05:52So, it surprises me a little bit when I was reading what I was reading today about the joint practices.
05:58But at a certain point, they have to prove that, don't they, Hawk?
06:01I mean, that's what I'm saying.
06:02It surprises me because it doesn't jibe with me what I know about the Dolphins and then what I'm reading today at the joint practice.
06:12It seems like they were on two different levels, but I guess they are.
06:16Because here's what I'm concerned with.
06:19For three years now, prior to this season, the Dolphins have been a good team.
06:23I don't think they've been a terribly coached team, but they clearly, I don't think this is arguable, have been a step behind the best teams in the NFL.
06:33No, no.
06:33The Ravens, the Chiefs, the Bills.
06:34This sounded greater than a step behind.
06:36And, again, all I'm doing is gleaning stuff from Twitter and Palm Beach Post reports.
06:43Like, it seemed much further than a step behind.
06:47But if you go up against the Bears and all the reports coming out of that training camp are that the Dolphins got punked by Chicago, fine.
06:56That's one training camp.
06:57That's one group of reporters.
06:59You could argue that the Dolphins weren't necessarily expecting full tackling because they're not supposed to be tackling in joint practices.
07:07Fine.
07:07Right?
07:08And then, in the preseason game, they didn't look a step behind the Bears.
07:12You know, the first team went out there, drove down the field, got to the five-yard line with ease.
07:18But you would agree, and Crowder, maybe you felt the same way being there, that the Dolphins almost had, like, something to prove against the Detroit Lions.
07:28A great team in the NFC.
07:30They got punked by the Bears.
07:31They're going out there, their next joint practice.
07:33They want to prove that they could belong on the same field with a team like this.
07:37And from everything we're reading, it didn't seem like they proved that at all.
07:41That's where, you know, I tweeted, I think I have to severely temper my expectations for this team.
07:48Because it's either all the reporters are lying, or the Dolphins are just a step behind the best teams in the NFL.
07:54Well, they went out, like I said, Waddle and Tyreek weren't in there.
08:01Kind of a big deal.
08:02Yeah.
08:03So, it's Weiss Jr. and Todd Washington and Malik Washington.
08:07And they're a bunch of little, Weiss, Weiss, whatever.
08:11And he's a big dude.
08:12But everybody else is very, very small humans.
08:14And they weren't really doing much on the secondary.
08:17But your top two receivers are out.
08:19Tight ends, they don't have a chance to catch anything from our team.
08:23And Laporta can play.
08:25But it's the concerns that we've had.
08:28The O-line and the secondary are still concerns.
08:32Minka Fitzpatrick can play his tail off.
08:34But you even see, watching the secondary, Minka moves.
08:39Like, he breaks faster than our other DBs.
08:42Like, you see why he's a pro bowler and why we can't cover anybody on the outside.
08:47Like, he's moving at a different speed than Jones and those other guys back there.
08:52And you could just, you could tell watching it.
08:54And a person, you're like, that's a pro bowler.
08:56Those guys might not be on the team this season.
08:59Well, again, also, it's preseason.
09:02These are practices, even the games themselves.
09:05I mean, I think someone brought up this week.
09:07Your 1-15 team was undefeated, right?
09:11Yeah.
09:11In the preseason that year.
09:12So, don't put that much stock in it.
09:15But you start to see things.
09:17And I would say glaring weaknesses probably rear their ugly heads a little bit in this arena.
09:23But I don't think you can glean too much from the first joint practice against the Lions.
09:29But, and also another thing, and one of my concerns, when they went to team run, the Lions ran downhill with two gigantic backs.
09:38We were running jet sweeps and reverses and all this cute stuff.
09:42And they are just coming straight at us.
09:45I was thinking about that today.
09:47I was thinking about it.
09:47I was thinking about it last night as well.
09:49I want all that stuff back.
09:51You know what?
09:51That's who we are.
09:52That's who McDaniel is.
09:54Enough of this, run it up the gut, and we're going to be tough and change the narrative.
09:58No, no, no, no.
09:59Change the narrative back to 2023 when we're creative and running jet sweeps and you have 18 people in motion.
10:06Like, do that.
10:07Be cutesy.
10:08I'm all for cutesy.
10:09I think I've been misplaced in, oh, they got to get tougher.
10:13Who gives a bleep?
10:14Get cutesier.
10:15Because they need it at some point.
10:18Cutesier.
10:18Cutesier.
10:19Get cutesier.
10:20Don't take out the jet sweeps or the double, triple, reverse pitchbacks.
10:25But when you're third and one, go get a first down.
10:27And then you can cutesy on first down.
10:30No.
10:31You can have four run up the guts with Jalen Wright, or you can have a double, triple, reverse with two catching the ball in the end zone.
10:39And we're all doing some weird dance at the end.
10:43Give me that all day long.
10:44We're more suited for that.
