00:00Now let's get to the story of the week last week in the preseason.
00:03I don't think it's going to be a story this week.
00:04It appears Dylan Gabriel is going to play a lot more than Shadour Sanders.
00:07But Sanders did have a great week one, 14 to 23, 128 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions.
00:13And he made the most of the opportunity, which is kind of all you're looking for at this point.
00:18And, you know, look, you can't go off one week, but certainly trending in the right direction.
00:22I don't think Cleveland would love to start Joe Flacco all season long.
00:26They'd love to see Kenny Pickett get back to who he was a couple of years ago or Dylan Gabriel step up or even Shadour Sanders.
00:33Yeah, I thought Sanders looked really good.
00:35I watched that entire game.
00:37He just threw the ball really well.
00:40He didn't have any turnovers.
00:41That's kind of what surprised me.
00:43I just thought, you know, first game jitters, he might come out and take a couple of risks that he probably shouldn't.
00:48But throughout the game, he demonstrated pretty good accuracy.
00:51And on one of his touchdowns, he fit the ball into a perfect window between two defenders, hit his receiver in stride.
00:58So I came away very impressed with what he was able to do.
01:02I think this is going to make, you know, the people who are looking at that quarterback room and say, there's no way they keep four quarterbacks, right?
01:08I think anyone worried about Shadour Sanders getting cut now can say, all right, yeah, there he's played well enough this one game to make them keep him.
01:16Now, does that mean he's going to move up the depth chart?
01:19I'm not sure about that yet.
01:20I think they want to see Dylan Gabriel in action, see how he does, see if Sanders can replicate his performance in more limited reps.
01:27So I think that battle between those two rookie quarterbacks would be interesting to watch this week if both get on the field.
01:33But if both look really, really good, then I think the question becomes, well, what happens to Kenny Pickett?
01:39Because all of a sudden, you're talking about where does he stand in this quarterback room?
01:44He's still dealing with that hamstring injury.
01:46He hasn't been a full participant in practice.
01:48So I think Pickett all of a sudden is going from a guy who I would say was probably safe in the quarterback room to saying, hey, if these two rookies outshine him, all of a sudden there are a little more questions about him.
01:58But ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Browns are probably going to try to keep four quarterbacks on the roster.
02:05I still have my doubts about whether that will happen all season long just because of the ramifications of injuries at other positions.
02:13But I do think that Shadur Sanders' strong performance has certainly helped him and given him a very clear path to a spot on the Browns' 53-man roster.
02:27Thanks.
02:31Thanks.
02:41Thanks.
02:42Thanks.
02:42Thanks.
02:43Thanks.
02:43Thanks.
