Claims of the THA investing $5million in the Dods Diving World Championship are being debunked by an officer attached to the event.

This comes as the Progressive Democratic Patriots condemn theTobago House of Assembly's decision to have a  foreign "Døds World Championship" in Charlotteville Tobago above the needs of Tobago's own sporting groups and community organizations. The championship took place on Saturday in Charlotteville Tobago.

01:00TV6 News contacted an official of the Dodds Diving World Championship, who debunked any notion of $5 million being spent by the THA towards the event.
01:12Instead, the officers said the international teams paid for their flights, hotel rooms, meals, and the THA used THA transport to assist in one instance.
01:23The officers said U.S. $120,000 per year has been agreed upon in the three-year contract with the Dodds Federation and the THA.
01:34In addition, any local advertising in Trinidad and Tobago in the future, 50% of revenue is attributed to the THA.
