High-Protein Cottage Cheese Oatmeal _ Stovetop _ Microwave Recipes

00:00In today's video, we're going to make an awesome high-protein cottage cheese oatmeal. I'm going
00:04to show you how I make it in the stove and in the microwave. For today's video, I'm only going to
00:09make one serving so you can easily learn the ratios of cottage cheese to oats for as many
00:13servings as you need to make. I'm going to add half a cup of oats into my pot and about a cup
00:19of milk. I'm using milk for more protein and milk also makes oatmeal thicker and richer. You could
00:26also use water here. I'm also going to add a pinch of salt. It enhances the flavor of the oatmeal.
00:32After I bring the liquid to a boil, it's going to take about five minutes to cook. You want to stir
00:36constantly so the oats don't burn at the bottom. I also cook this on medium heat just to be safe.
00:43Now that my oats are done cooking, as you can see, they're nice and thick and creamy. That's when I'm
00:48going to add my cottage cheese. And per serving, I like to add one third to one half a cup. And you
00:55want to add your cottage cheese into your oatmeal once the oats are done cooking. And then you're
00:59going to mix it in. Now that my oats are done cooking and my cottage cheese is mixed in here,
01:04I can serve this into my bowl. You can also make cottage cheese oatmeal in the microwave. And to do
01:10that, you're first going to grab a large microwave-safe bowl or mug that doesn't get too hot in there.
01:16Let's add half a cup of old-fashioned oats into the bowl or mug, one cup of liquid, water, or milk,
01:22and a pinch of salt. We're going to give this a quick stir. And I'm going to microwave this for
01:27about 90 seconds to two minutes. How much totally depends on your preference. And then when it's
01:33ready, you're going to take them out, give your oats a good stir. And now is the time where you add
01:39that third of a cup to half a cup of cottage cheese into the bowl. You're going to stir it up
01:44and top it with your favorite toppings. And guys, just like this, you can make cottage cheese oatmeal
