00:00Other than this epic blackened chicken,
00:13everything else is your classic ingredients
00:15from Cobb salad plus my incredible vinaigrette,
00:19which I'm also gonna link in the description box for you.
00:21So if you're into homemade dressings that take two minutes,
00:24make sure to make that.
00:25So the first thing I'm gonna do,
00:26I'm gonna chop up my romaine lettuce,
00:29which I've already washed before this video.
00:31So you can get to your salad a lot quicker.
00:34Now, whether you build this Cobb salad for one or four people,
00:38this is epic because a Cobb salad has hard boiled eggs,
00:42tomatoes, crispy bacon.
00:45Hold up, I'm getting ahead of myself.
00:46Let's continue making it.
00:47I'm also chopping up some crispy cucumber,
00:50cause it's juicy.
00:51These English cucumbers are delicious.
00:54Also cherry tomatoes.
00:55You can put them whole on top or in half.
00:58I personally like them sliced in half.
01:00What would a Cobb salad be without a hard boiled egg?
01:03Let's cut this guy in half.
01:05Let's make some room on the board
01:06and put these guys on the salad.
01:09I'm gonna coarsely chop up this bacon
01:11that I cooked in the microwave,
01:12which if you've never done it before,
01:14I'll link that video for you right below.
01:16Now I'm gonna add a shallot to my Cobb salad.
01:19Shallot and onions are cousins.
01:21I just happen to have a shallot around.
01:24It's milder than red onions,
01:25but if you like red onion on your salads,
01:27go ahead and do that.
01:29Now this blackened chicken is simply incredible.
01:32I cooked it in another video,
01:33which I'm gonna leave the recipe
01:34and the link to that below.
01:36It'll be the tastiest chicken you'll ever make.
01:39So I'm simply going to slice it.
01:41You can make an entire pan just like I did here,
01:43and have it in the fridge
01:45for when you make your salads throughout the week.
01:47It adds tons of flavor and lots of protein.
01:50I'm gonna add some avocado to this salad.
01:52Doesn't cost extra in this video.
01:56Check it out.
01:57Does it make your day when you slice an avocado in half
01:59and it's epic and ready to eat?
02:02It does make my day.
02:03Let me know in the comments
02:04what your experience with avocados is,
02:07because sometimes it can be good,
02:08sometimes it's not so bueno.
02:10And of course, I'm also gonna add some blue cheese
02:13to this Cobb salad, because I love blue cheese.
02:17And last but not least is this red wine vinaigrette,
02:19which I keep in my fridge.
02:21It takes two minutes to make,
02:22and when I want it, I just grab it, give it a good shake,
02:25and it lasts up to a week.
02:27So it definitely is worth making your own salad dressing.
02:31Let's drizzle it over the top.
02:36So I'm gonna build my base
02:37with some freshly washed romaine lettuce.
02:40I love romaine, because it's crunchy and so delicious,
02:43and it fills you up and makes a perfect base for salads.
02:46I'm gonna build a salad
02:47with some really juicy cherry tomatoes.
02:49They're actually grape tomatoes,
02:51because they're oval, but I'm gonna slice them in half.
02:53You can also use your garden tomatoes,
02:55fresh tomatoes for this salad.
02:57Now, I love cheese on my salads,
02:59and on this one I'm adding a bocconcini
03:00or like little mini mozzarella balls.
03:03You could add your favorite cheese.
03:05I also love a sharp cheese with this salad,
03:07because it contrasts the blackened chicken really well.
03:10Now, the star of the show is this blackened chicken
03:12that I made in another video,
03:14and I love using it on my salads, on pasta.
03:18You could even cook a few pieces like I did ahead of time,
03:21keep it in the fridge for a few days,
03:23and build incredible salads with it,
03:26or other meals like my blackened chicken pasta.
03:29I'll link all of that below.
03:30I have an entire playlist, and the seasoning is so good.
03:33I'm gonna add some avocado,
03:35because I have an incredibly ready-to-eat avocado,
03:38which makes everything better and really delicious.
03:41It also fills you up.
03:42And what would tomato and mozzarella be
03:46without some fresh basil?
03:48So let's chop some of these and sprinkle it on top.
03:52If you don't have fresh basil,
03:53and you have a jar of pesto sauce from dinner,
03:56you could also use that.
04:06I'm using some green leaf lettuce for this salad.
04:08You can use green leaf or romaine.
04:11Just remember to chop it up as big or small as you like,
04:14and then place it directly inside of your container
04:17as the base.
04:19I'm also gonna slice some cherry tomatoes in half,
04:22but if you don't wanna go through the trouble,
04:24you can leave them whole and place them in your salad.
04:28I'm chopping a bit of a shallot.
04:30You could also use a red onions,
04:32they're cousins anyway, and place it on my salad.
04:35Avocado and crispy chicken go so well together,
04:38so sometimes I take an avocado,
04:40and I dice it up and add it in here.
04:42However, today, my avocado is hard as a rock,
04:46so we're gonna skip that.
04:47But if you've got one that's ready to go,
04:49by all means, place it in your salad.
04:50Chicken strips are the key
04:52to making this salad happen real quick.
04:54I cooked these chicken strips in the air fryer
04:56last night to golden perfection,
04:58and these two are the lucky ones.
05:00I get to make it into the salad today.
05:02So what I'm gonna do is slice them into little pieces
05:05and place them directly on top.
05:06My biggest recommendation to keeping everything fresh
05:09until lunch is to pack your favorite dressing
05:12in a separate small lid container.
05:15Here, I'm adding some ranch,
05:16and I'm gonna take the lid and place it right on top.
05:20By the way, if you find tips like this one helpful,
05:22give this video a thumbs up,
05:23so I know to always add them in my videos for you.
05:26Now, you can make the salad in the morning real quick
05:28in like five minutes,
05:30or you could also make this the night before,
05:32once the chicken is fully cooled down,
05:34because you don't wanna wilt your lettuce,
05:36and then place it in the refrigerator,
05:38and in the morning, pull it out,
05:40and grab some ice packs,
05:42place those inside of your lunch bag,
05:45place the salad right on top and the dressing,
05:48and this lunch is ready to go.
05:50Now, the dressing is always added at the very end,
05:52right before you're gonna enjoy it,
05:54and I just like to drizzle it right over my chicken
05:56and greens just like that,
05:58and the salad is good to go.
06:00See you next time.
