00:00In just under a week, all eyes will be on the biggest party in sport.
00:05This as the 2025 Republic Bank CPL bowls off on August 14th
00:09between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at Warner Park.
00:14CPL Head of PR and Communications Peter Miller says things are in order for the tournament.
00:19We really hope that the Caribbean public will continue engaging with the Caribbean Premier League
00:24and come out and support the tournament.
00:27We really feel like we're blessed to be a part of the calendar
00:33and a part of the landscape of social events and sporting events that happen in the Caribbean.
00:37So hopefully people will be visiting cplt20.com or their local box office
00:41getting their tickets and coming out and supporting their team
00:44and showing the world how much fun it is to watch cricket in the Caribbean.
00:48The CPL runs until September 21st, which is the day of the final in Guyana.
00:53Miller says there'll be lots happening during the tournament
00:56including giveaways for fans.
00:59There's also going to be some really exciting stuff that we're going to be doing
01:03with our mobile phone app where we're going to be having light shows
01:06and the opportunity for you to have yourself using your phone camera up on the big screen
01:12and some other bits and pieces that we've got kicking around.
01:15So I think this year is shaping up to be really exciting from a fan engagement point of view.
01:21And on top of that, we're going to have some of the best regional artists performing at half-time at the matches as well.
01:28The Massey Women's CPL runs from September 6th to the 17th in Guyana.
01:33And Miller is encouraging fans to support the ladies as well.
01:36I really think that the WCPL is starting to grow in terms of fan engagement
01:42and then also in terms of the quality of the product.
01:46We're really blessed to have some of the best players in the world already coming from the Caribbean,
01:49the likes of Hayley Matthews, who's now a CPL ambassador and does a great job with us
01:54in terms of spreading the word in terms of female engagement in cricket
01:58and female participation in cricket.
02:00So that's really exciting.
02:01And then some of the overseas players that are coming this year are really,
02:05it's going to be really good to see some of them as well.
02:06You know, again, some of the absolute best players in the world.
02:09Some really exciting Indian players, which I'm sure will lead to even more engagement around the world with the WCPL.
02:16The WCPL has three teams, TKR, Ghana Amazon Warriors,
02:20and defending champions Barbados Royals, who won it twice.
02:24Vinod Nawani, TeefSexport.
