00:00I think we have a primate that's just put up with enough.
00:03Here's a look at new Haya toys.
00:04This is the Godzilla X-Kong, the New Empire, exquisite basic Kong.
00:24Kong stand, 16 centimeters tall,
00:27crafted with attention to detail based on original CG data,
00:31faithfully reproduces every aspect of Kong's appearance from Godzilla X-Kong, the New Empire,
00:36showing Kong's unstoppable and majestic stance.
00:39The figure is meticulously detailed with multi-layered paint applications
00:43that highlight his silver-white fur, intimidating eyes, robust musculature,
00:48and battle-scarred chest, reflecting decades of combat.
00:51The intricate detailing gives the figure a lifelike quality,
00:54with comprehensive upgraded joints, providing a wide range of motion
00:59for recreating various poses, such as the quadrupedal stance or crisscross.
01:04Accessories include a translucent battle axe,
01:07three pairs of interchangeable hands, allowing you to recreate iconic scenes.
01:12You want to get your paws in the new Kong,
01:13the same way that Kong had his paws all over Suko.
01:15He swung him like a bat.
01:17Just know this figure is slated to drop the first quarter of 2025.
01:20Hey, wait a minute, reviewer.
01:21We're looking at our calendars right now.
01:23We're well within the first quarter of 2025.
01:25We're actually already into August.
01:27Yeah, that's true.
01:28What's also true, though, is looking around at three other sites,
01:31the normal go-to's when I can tell you the release dates on these figures.
01:34None of those three sites actually have a listing for this Kong.
01:38What was surprising, though, I had to go directly to the source,
01:40checking out Hiya's site, where I could actually find that the figure was going to be
01:44initially slated to drop the first quarter of 2025,
01:48and that he was also going to be selling for $51.
01:50So I'm not really sure of the mystery behind why King Kong's so hard to find listings for.
01:55But needless to say, though, before we bring in past primates,
01:58I know we can't really very well live in the past.
02:00We'll live in the now.
02:01And in the now, we're going to take the tape measure,
02:03and we're going to see just how tall the Godzilla X-Kong,
02:06the new Empire, exquisite basic Kong stands.
02:09If I'm reading this correctly, at least in inches,
02:11King Kong's going to stand at 6 inches of that,
02:14and that's going to work out to be a figure that's 15.5 centimeters tall.
02:18If you have watched enough of these videos, then you'll recognize this guy.
02:21This was always my go-to King Kong,
02:23especially when it came to bringing the figure in for comparisons.
02:26Comparing, though, the two figures, the original Kong and then the new one,
02:30they're almost about the same size.
02:31The new one not only is just a tad bit taller,
02:35but he also benefits from one thing that always really had an issue
02:38when it came to this initial release,
02:40in the fact that you couldn't really ever bring his arms down.
02:43Try as I might, just there's not enough hinge in there
02:46to be able to bring his arms down.
02:48So, pardon my pun for saying this,
02:50King Kong always looked like he had gorilla arms.
02:52Already, though, that fixes the issue.
02:54He has a lot better posability,
02:56a lot more mobility in the shoulders,
02:58and a much better looking sculpt as well.
03:00Things speaking about the past,
03:02let's also bring in the past Godzilla.
03:04Now, this actually isn't that far of a past Godzilla.
03:06This is actually still Godzilla X-Kong, the new Empire,
03:09but this is prior to him getting the upgrade.
03:11The thing about getting, though, the upgrade,
03:12as we just kind of slide this guy out of the way
03:14and bring in the new one that has the pink dorsal fins,
03:16as I did say in the review, he has better posability, yes,
03:19but it does make, though, for a little bit smaller of Godzilla.
03:24If you're looking, though, at the two sizes
03:25to go back and re-watch the movie again,
03:27I still kind of feel like King Kong should still be a little bit shorter,
03:31maybe not in line or the same size, really,
03:34as the King of the Monsters.
03:35Speaking, though, of also the King of the Monsters,
03:37I wanted to also bring back in the 1991 Godzilla.
03:41I know we've already had a look at it,
03:42and granted, though, to be fair,
03:43it's a completely different universe.
03:45But at the time, though,
03:46that Hyatt Toys did send over this Godzilla,
03:49this King Kong,
03:50they actually sent over, though,
03:51a brand new head sculpt to go then with the 91 release.
03:54Some may have said in the comments section
03:56when we did do the review of the 1991
03:58that he did look like he had cross-eyes.
04:00Now, actually, they have sent over
04:02what I still feel to be like it's still a good-looking head sculpt,
04:05but it does actually fix the eyes just a little bit.
04:08So this is just, again,
04:09a case of popping the head off the ball joint
04:11and then just taking the new head that we get
04:13and just pop it back in place.
04:15Now, I heard that there has been replacements sent.
04:18I don't know, again,
04:19if customers that have picked up
04:20or ordered the 1991 Godzilla,
04:23I'm still going to have to heat that.
04:24But those that have maybe ordered the 91 Godzilla,
04:26if they are going to be getting the replacement head,
04:29like, the paint is definitely better.
04:31The eyes, you can see, are better in line with one another
04:33and they also add a little bit more darker coloring on the sides.
04:37Again, like, this really isn't the review
04:38of the 1991 King Godzilla,
04:41but again, I did want to bring in the head sculpt
04:43just to show you that they did send out replacements as well.
04:45I wouldn't really say he has many more accessories
04:47than the original Kong,
04:49but although the ones that he gets
04:51are all better sculpted and better painted.
04:53First, as an example to that,
04:55the figure does come in clear with this axe.
04:57This axe is done actually using a very soft plastic,
05:00which actually does benefit this,
05:02especially if you're putting this into the ape's hands.
05:05You really wouldn't want to worry
05:06about bending the plastic and warping it.
05:08I mean, with it being soft like this,
05:10it does have a lot more give to it.
05:12Bringing back in the axe that we got
05:14with the original King Kong,
05:15you can see that it may, though,
05:17be a little bit smaller,
05:19but I think it's got the better details going for it.
05:21The bright blue, I think,
05:22made it a little less realistic,
05:24I think, with the colors that we're getting now
05:25treated to the new axe.
05:27It gives it a little more realism,
05:28as realistic as this really could be,
05:30a giant primate wielding an axe like this.
05:33Speaking of him wielding, though, the axe,
05:35the figure does already have
05:35the suitable primate hands
05:37on the ends of his forearms.
05:38So we're going to go ahead
05:39and pick the figure up right now.
05:41The plastic, too, is forgiving enough
05:43that you can pry it away from the palm
05:45and then just sort of get yourself the axe
05:47and get it in there.
05:49And one thing born to the benefits, too,
05:51of also this figure having
05:52the better levels of posability
05:53is that, like I did in the beginning
05:55of this review,
05:56you can bend the elbow
05:57and you can actually have
05:59the axe sitting on his shoulder
06:01like he's walking around that way.
06:03Man, that looks really cool.
06:04What's also cool, too,
06:05is that the figure does also have
06:06some swappable hands
06:07and he does have the three
06:08swappable head sculpts.
06:10I don't really want to get ahead
06:11of myself yet.
06:13The hands that he has,
06:14he already has gripping hands,
06:16C-gripped hands on the ends already,
06:18but the figure does also have
06:20closed grips or punching hands.
06:22These fist hands are fine.
06:24Again, some would prefer
06:25to have that displayed
06:25with the figure.
06:26I think really, though,
06:27I would rather have him
06:28dragging himself
06:29or walking on his knuckles
06:30if that's something
06:31that we can now do
06:32with this figure.
06:33Being that he does have
06:34better levels of posability
06:35in his shoulders,
06:36his elbows,
06:37and his wrists
06:37means that you can actually
06:39get Nao Kong in a proper
06:40kind of pose
06:41where he's walking
06:42on his knuckles.
06:43To do that, though,
06:44you're just going to go ahead
06:45and hold the forearms,
06:46yank the hands off
06:47from the pegs.
06:48Not that really hard to do, either.
06:50Get the new hand in place,
06:51just like that.
06:54Now, you do have
06:54to really make sure, though,
06:55even though the pegs
06:57are fairly easy
06:58to attach onto the hands,
06:59the one thing, though,
07:00about it is the stem.
07:01As you can see,
07:02the post isn't very long,
07:03so the quarters are quite tight.
07:06Basically, again,
07:07just going to twist the hand
07:08until it eventually
07:09gets onto the peg.
07:10I think, hopefully,
07:10we have it on there.
07:12And then you can bring
07:12the arm down.
07:13You can pose the body
07:15down like this.
07:17Of course,
07:18the hand is going
07:19to stay on there.
07:20And you can actually
07:21get him walking
07:22on his knuckles.
07:24Now, again,
07:24you're going to have to
07:25kind of also bend the knees
07:26to bring his head up,
07:27which does,
07:28at times,
07:29pop off.
07:30We're going to just
07:30pop that back
07:31onto the ball joint
07:31like that.
07:32There we go.
07:33And then you can actually
07:34have him in a walking stance.
07:36Now, you could probably
07:37even do a much better job
07:38than what I'm doing right now.
07:39It's just more or less
07:40to show you.
07:41Bring his head up like that.
07:43Bring his feet around.
07:45And you can actually,
07:46in fact,
07:46walk on his knuckles.
07:47Now, I've only really got
07:48the one on there right now,
07:49but at least it does show you
07:50the idea that it is possible.
07:52It's not something at all
07:53you could really have done
07:54with the original King Kong.
07:55He just did not have
07:56that levels of mobility
07:58in his shoulders,
07:58nor in his arms.
08:00Nor really in his legs.
08:01I'm going to move that guy
08:02out of the way.
08:03I love that.
08:04I love the fact that
08:04you can actually get him
08:05in a pose looking like that.
08:07The figure does have,
08:08while he's in that pose,
08:09a relaxed hand,
08:10or a gestured kind of
08:11dynamic hand, I suppose.
08:12And he also has
08:13sort of the same,
08:14although this one does
08:15have the blood all over it.
08:17So if you want a little bit
08:18of blood on your Kong
08:19just to break up all the gray,
08:21this might be the hand
08:22you may want to end up using.
08:24Picking, though, up Kong.
08:25We'll kind of just
08:26kind of re-correct his posture.
08:28And the figure does also
08:30have some swappable head sculpts.
08:31Now, the previous Kong
08:33did technically have
08:34the head that was
08:34out of the packaging
08:35with him,
08:36and then he also had
08:36two other ones.
08:38King Kong here
08:38does also the same.
08:39He has a neutral expression,
08:41which was really the one
08:42that we wanted to start
08:43the review with.
08:44Not just for the fact
08:45that the figure came
08:46out of the packaging
08:46this way,
08:47but I feel like also
08:48if you just want
08:49a calmer-looking Kong,
08:50this is probably
08:51the better of the three.
08:53I'll tell you right away,
08:54boy, oh boy,
08:55they have not only
08:56gone vast improvements
08:57when it comes to posability,
08:59but if you just look, though,
09:00at the look of Kong
09:01and you compare him
09:02with the original one,
09:03not that there was
09:04anything really wrong
09:05with the original Kong,
09:07but I do feel like
09:07they'll leaps and bounds
09:08better when it comes
09:09to the sculpting.
09:09The paint is really good, too.
09:11And I don't know.
09:12I mean, you may also
09:13be the judge as well
09:14to look at this
09:15and see for yourself.
09:16Are his eyes
09:17not the most realistic eyes
09:19we've ever gotten
09:19on a higher release?
09:20It's almost as if
09:21they've painted the pupils
09:23or painted the eyeballs
09:24and then they've almost
09:25even added a sheen
09:26of glass over top of it.
09:28There's so much life
09:29to eyes this small.
09:31It's just an incredible
09:32looking head sculpt
09:33for Kong.
09:34Now, if you like
09:35this head sculpt,
09:35you may just choose
09:36to stick with this head
09:37right now.
09:38The figure does also
09:39have this really ticked off
09:40looking King Kong head.
09:42Easily can pop off
09:44the heads from the ball joints.
09:44So again, you just
09:45pop them off the post,
09:47take the new head
09:47and just...
09:49So basically,
09:49when you're putting it down
09:50too,
09:51you have to put it down
09:52so that the chin
09:53and the front of the face
09:54is further down.
09:55So just again,
09:56like line everything up,
09:58plug it on to the post.
09:59Make sure, of course,
10:00you apply enough pressure
10:01so it stays on there.
10:03And now you have
10:03a really angry
10:04looking King Kong.
10:06Miles different though,
10:07obviously,
10:08from the one
10:08that we started with.
10:09This is a Kong
10:10that he's already
10:11telling you now,
10:12leave him alone.
10:13He's already got the axe.
10:14Zuko, I don't know
10:15where he's been
10:15swinging him around,
10:17but yeah,
10:17just a cool looking head.
10:19Now this one does have,
10:20again,
10:20like the visible teeth.
10:21So right away,
10:22he's a lot angrier,
10:24but he can get
10:24even angrier.
10:26When we check out
10:27then this head sculpt,
10:28you can see that now
10:28Kong is growling.
10:31Some visible teeth
10:32are also there as well.
10:33You get also a chance
10:33to see his new tooth.
10:35But again,
10:36like look at the eyes.
10:37Eyes like this
10:38are small.
10:39I get that.
10:40They're very hard to see.
10:41But again,
10:41like just there's
10:42a lot of life
10:43on that face.
10:44How they managed
10:45to do that
10:45with such a small figure
10:46like this.
10:47Just an incredible
10:48looking sculpt.
10:49Again,
10:49if you want to change
10:50the head,
10:50it's just a case.
10:51Doing all the same
10:52that we did before.
10:53Pop it off the post.
10:54Pop the new head
10:55in place.
10:57And a little bit of,
10:58a little bit of there,
10:59a little bit of pressure
11:00that may be required.
11:02Now you got yourself
11:02an Anger King Kong.
11:03Now just to bring back
11:04in the original
11:05King Kong head sculpts.
11:07And just put the figure
11:08down here for a second.
11:09I want to kind of do
11:11like to like.
11:12I guess like to like
11:13would probably be,
11:15well,
11:15this is the defaulted head.
11:16Here's the original
11:17head sculpt for
11:18version 2 Kong.
11:21And then there was also,
11:23again,
11:24this is the Anger King Kong
11:25head sculpt.
11:26And then this is the
11:27new updated release.
11:30I do like the darker
11:31colors too.
11:32This one I think was
11:32a little too light
11:33and gray.
11:35More realistic,
11:36definitely,
11:36on the version 2 Kong.
11:37Pardon me if I keep
11:38calling this version 2 Kong.
11:39And lastly though,
11:41this is the original
11:42King Kong head sculpt
11:43with the growling face.
11:44This is the new King Kong.
11:46You be the judge.
11:47Let me know down below
11:48which is the better
11:48of the two.
11:50So those are all
11:50just the heads and the hands.
11:53Moving everything though
11:53out of the way.
11:54I guess we'll probably
11:55kind of keep the other
11:55King Kong close by
11:57just so you guys be able
11:58to see the comparisons
11:58that way.
11:59Yeah,
12:00other than just the head sculpt
12:01looking fantastic,
12:02I do actually like that
12:03they've used the darker
12:04coloring here.
12:05This dark,
12:06it's not even really
12:07just black.
12:08There's black,
12:08but then there's a lot
12:09of layers to this as well.
12:10I'm hoping really
12:11that the light
12:11and the camera
12:12is able to capture
12:13all this.
12:14It sort of starts
12:15as best as I can describe
12:16as kind of like
12:17a really dark gray.
12:18Then there's black
12:19added in there as well.
12:20You've got some faint
12:21traces and gray hairs.
12:23A little bit of brown
12:24in there as well.
12:25Layers and layers
12:26of coloring.
12:26So it's not just,
12:28I mean far enough away,
12:28I'm sure you probably
12:29would look at this
12:30and just think that
12:30this is just a dark gray
12:31character.
12:32But when you really
12:33go in there
12:34and start looking closely,
12:35can you not make out
12:36that he has all these
12:37little gray hairs?
12:38This man's getting old
12:39after all.
12:39This primate's getting old.
12:41He's got a big gash wound
12:42there on the back
12:42of his body.
12:44Of course,
12:44he does have the familiar
12:45scars there on the front
12:45of his chest as well.
12:47My only issue,
12:49and there has to,
12:50of course,
12:50be something wrong
12:51with this figure,
12:51it can't be completely
12:52positive,
12:53is that I do find
12:54the problems that he has
12:55is balancing.
12:56His feet,
12:57as you can see right here,
12:58aren't completely flat.
13:00In fact,
13:00when you're looking
13:01at the bombs of his feet,
13:02they curve inward.
13:04I really wish,
13:05though,
13:05that Hyatt chose
13:05not to do this.
13:07Yes,
13:07maybe it may add
13:08to realism on the figure,
13:09but it does cause
13:10conflict when it comes
13:11to the figure standing.
13:12You may notice already
13:13that when I always
13:14have this guy posed,
13:16every time I put
13:16this guy down,
13:17you may notice
13:18that I've leaned
13:18him forward.
13:19The original King Kong
13:20never really had that issue
13:22because he had
13:22actually flatter feet.
13:23Granted,
13:24they were still sculpted,
13:25but they were sculpted
13:26and flatter,
13:27so it made balancing
13:28this guy never really
13:29ever an issue.
13:30I mean,
13:30I could just put this guy
13:31down and he stands
13:31perfectly fine.
13:33The new King Kong,
13:34because he does have
13:34the arched in his feet,
13:37you can kind of see again,
13:38like,
13:38when you put him down,
13:39if you were to put him
13:40up straight,
13:41for example,
13:42he's going to lean back.
13:43So you do really
13:44kind of have to have
13:45him arched forward
13:46like this,
13:47just so the figure
13:48has the proper means
13:49to stand.
13:50Speaking,
13:50though,
13:51of standing,
13:51I mean,
13:51Hyatt Toys has done
13:52this in the past as well
13:53with all their other
13:54exquisite minis
13:54and exquisite
13:55super series figures.
13:57Why wouldn't they
13:57have maybe just even
13:58thought of including
14:00like poles on the
14:00balms of his feet?
14:01I mean,
14:02it's not something
14:02really that you'd
14:03ever see.
14:04I mean,
14:04anybody who has
14:05these guys displayed
14:06on their shelves
14:07would then be able
14:08to attach them
14:09onto a display stand.
14:10Even if a stand
14:11wasn't available,
14:12if you used at least
14:13universally sized holes
14:15on the bottoms
14:16of their heels,
14:17then at least you
14:18could get King Kong
14:18in a better pose
14:19without always really
14:20worrying that the guy
14:21has to lean forward
14:22for the risk that he
14:23may fall backwards.
14:26Let's move this guy
14:27out of the way,
14:27though.
14:27So for the figure's
14:28articulation,
14:29again,
14:29this is where
14:30the guy shines.
14:31Not only does he
14:31have better sculpting,
14:33better paint,
14:34but then just when
14:35you see all the
14:36levels of posability
14:36that this guy
14:37also possesses as
14:38well,
14:38he is just
14:39knocking out of the
14:40park.
14:41The head's going to
14:41be first of all
14:42on a ball joint,
14:43and even just to say
14:44that,
14:44I feel like I'm
14:45kind of downplaying
14:46just how much the
14:47head can actually
14:47move.
14:48The head can look
14:49up really,
14:49really high,
14:50so again,
14:50if you want to
14:51have him walking
14:51on his knuckles,
14:53easily you can just
14:53pose the head up.
14:54The head does
14:55move down.
14:56You can also
14:57rock it back and
14:57forth.
14:58Very much,
14:59very lot of
14:59mobility there.
15:00I really didn't
15:01expect as much,
15:02but then when you
15:02look at how much
15:03actually they've
15:04allotted for clearance
15:05just on the bottom
15:05of his chin,
15:06they've factored
15:08that in for how
15:09much more you can
15:09actually bring the
15:10head down.
15:11In working,
15:12though,
15:12with the ball joint
15:13that attaches to
15:13his head,
15:14some may have
15:15already noticed,
15:15though,
15:15the figure does
15:16also have a ball
15:16joint at the
15:17base of his neck,
15:18so you can also
15:18move it up and
15:19down that way as
15:20well.
15:20It doesn't seem to
15:21move as well,
15:22though,
15:22as the joint that
15:24but there's some
15:24decent possibility
15:25in the neck,
15:26too.
15:27For the arms,
15:28now,
15:28so the way the
15:29shoulders work,
15:30the shoulders do
15:31allow the arms to
15:32rotate all the way
15:33around,
15:34but in addition to
15:35that,
15:36there's actually a
15:36joint that works
15:38right here in the
15:39shoulders where you
15:40can actually bring
15:40King Kong's arms
15:42out.
15:43If we were to say,
15:44just put this guy
15:44down for a second,
15:45we look at the
15:45original King Kong,
15:46no,
15:46Kong could kind of
15:48pull that off.
15:49First of all,
15:50what you would see,
15:50very visible joints,
15:52but also,
15:53too,
15:53you wouldn't be
15:53really bringing
15:54his arms forward.
15:55They,
15:56sure enough,
15:56could come back,
15:57but bringing them
15:57forward was always
15:58more of the issue.
16:00This new King Kong,
16:01though,
16:01not only can come
16:02forward and back,
16:03but again,
16:03like if you really
16:04want to have him
16:04close together,
16:05like he's pounding
16:06out his chest,
16:07you can actually,
16:07whoa,
16:08not drop the arm
16:09in the process,
16:09but you can actually
16:10even bend the elbow
16:11so he's pounding
16:12on his chest.
16:14That's incredible,
16:15the fact that you
16:15can actually do that.
16:17Now,
16:17so in addition to,
16:18obviously,
16:18he's missing his
16:19hand there,
16:20in addition to that,
16:21though,
16:21the figure does
16:21again have a joint
16:22that covers over
16:23everything,
16:23so it looks seamless,
16:25as seamless really
16:25as it could be.
16:26The figure does have
16:27a bicep swivel,
16:28or I should really
16:29say a shoulder swivel,
16:30so it allows the arm
16:31to rotate all the way
16:31around.
16:32The figure does also
16:33have a double bend
16:34in the elbow.
16:35Now,
16:35where they chose
16:36to put the bend
16:37is one right here,
16:38right below the bicep,
16:40and walking distance,
16:41a little further down,
16:42right here in the forearm.
16:44So right there,
16:45you can actually get
16:46quite a good bend
16:47on Kong.
16:48The forearm also
16:49does rotate back and
16:50forth,
16:50and if there was a
16:51hand here,
16:52we'll kind of have
16:52to work with his
16:53hand for right now.
16:54The hand would rotate
16:54all the way around,
16:55you can also hinge
16:56those back and forth
16:57too.
16:58When we get to his
16:58top torso,
17:00so Kong's got a
17:01torso ball joint here,
17:03so you can already
17:04move the torso back
17:05and forth,
17:06up and down,
17:07but then he also
17:08has further down,
17:09one in the abdomen
17:10area,
17:11and look how much
17:11more that you can
17:12actually do with
17:12Kong there.
17:13The legs are on
17:14ball joints,
17:15so you can split the
17:16legs out pretty far
17:17actually,
17:17you can move them
17:18forward,
17:19you can move them
17:19back.
17:20There is a swivel
17:21at the top of the
17:22thigh,
17:22and then if you
17:23move a little
17:23further down,
17:24he seems to also
17:25have a swivel
17:26about halfway up
17:27the thigh.
17:28In addition to that,
17:29the figure does also
17:29have a double hinge
17:30in the knee,
17:31and he also has a
17:32hinge in the ankle.
17:34Now,
17:34aside from also
17:36having not completely
17:36flat feet,
17:37which is also facing
17:38this figure's biggest
17:39problems,
17:40one other problem
17:41that he also has
17:42too,
17:42is that he doesn't
17:43have really much
17:44of a hinge joint
17:44right here.
17:45If I bring the
17:46ankle down,
17:47that's as little
17:49as he actually
17:49has to work with.
17:51Had they only
17:51maybe just cut
17:52this little higher
17:53up or made the
17:54joint,
17:54I know it would
17:55have been more
17:55visible,
17:56but if they made
17:57that just a little
17:57more of a gap
17:58space,
17:58you could actually
17:59have arched the
18:00feet further
18:01forward to
18:02compensate for the
18:02fact that the
18:03figure has a
18:03harder time to
18:04stand.
18:06Standing might be
18:06the issue when it
18:07comes to Kong,
18:08certainly though
18:09when it comes to
18:10the paint,
18:10the applications,
18:11and the execution
18:12of the figure,
18:12he's got no
18:13problems there.
18:14When you look
18:15at where we
18:15came from and
18:16where we are
18:17now, the new
18:18Kong, though,
18:19by far is the
18:20best example that
18:21we've gotten of
18:22the primate.
18:23And again, as it
18:24comes to Hayatoys,
18:25they have again
18:26perfected when it
18:27comes to these
18:28figure releases.
18:29Granted still,
18:30though, when it
18:30comes to the
18:30smaller Godzilla,
18:32while he did have
18:32a lot more
18:33poseability
18:34possessed in
18:34his body,
18:35it made for a
18:36much smaller
18:37figure.
18:38I'm curious,
18:38though, that when
18:39eventually we get
18:40ourselves the
18:40gloved King Kong,
18:41or Power Glove
18:42Kong, whether
18:43he is going to
18:44be of the same
18:44size as this
18:45Kong, or if in
18:46fact he's going
18:46to be a little
18:47bit smaller.
18:48Now, I've also
18:48heard as well that
18:49there's going to
18:49be a release of
18:50another Godzilla
18:51that's going to
18:52be, I think, a
18:52little bit taller
18:53than the one
18:53that we got
18:54right here.
18:55But from
18:55certainly the
18:56standpoint of,
18:57again, we're not
18:57really looking at
18:58Godzilla in this
18:59review, but
18:59certainly when it
19:00comes to King
19:00Kong, if you
19:02had had the
19:03original King
19:03Kong, and this
19:04really, like
19:04myself, was the
19:06one that we had
19:06standing in, not
19:07only for the
19:07comparisons, but
19:08displaying him on
19:09the shelf.
19:09I hate to say
19:10this, this might
19:11be the time to
19:11retire the old
19:13King Kong, as a
19:14better one has
19:14now been released.
19:16I'll tell you one
19:17thing I had with
19:18this Kong that I
19:18couldn't say I had
19:19with the other.
19:20Fun.
19:21I mean, a lot of
19:21times getting these
19:22figures out of their
19:22packaging, they look
19:23the way they should
19:24from the film, but
19:25you really can't
19:26always move a lot
19:27of things on the
19:28figure's bodies.
19:29I mean, when it
19:29comes to the
19:30previous Kong, one
19:31of the things that
19:31really was a
19:32restriction on the
19:32figure was
19:33especially his
19:34arms.
19:34He always really
19:35felt like his arm
19:36had to hang out
19:37instead of being
19:38closer to his
19:38body.
19:39Haya saw that as
19:40a problem and
19:41fixed it with their
19:42newest release.
19:43Yes, the new Kong
19:44not only does look
19:45a lot nicer than
19:46the previous one,
19:47but it also does
19:48give you a lot more
19:49flexibility and
19:50things that you can
19:50actually do with
19:51his body.
19:52I had just a lot
19:53of times and a lot
19:54of fun getting him
19:55in different poses,
19:56having him, for
19:57example, walking on
19:58his knuckles, which
19:58he really couldn't do
19:59at all with the
20:00previous release.
20:01And you can get
20:01this guy in his
20:02different poses,
20:03different action
20:04stances.
20:05Standing, though,
20:06that could be one
20:07biggest issue that's
20:09really facing this
20:09figure, being that
20:10he doesn't really
20:11completely have
20:12flat feet.
20:13They went for
20:13realistic, but
20:15unfortunately, though,
20:15realism cost this
20:16figure the ability
20:17to properly stand.
20:19If you do have
20:19this figure, you're
20:20likely probably going
20:21to be getting him
20:21in poses like I
20:22have right now.
20:23Having him standing
20:24upright, you may
20:25feel then compelled
20:26to lean him or
20:27lunge him forward so
20:28he can actually
20:28properly stand.
20:30I feel like if
20:30Haya Toys does do
20:31this with some of
20:32their figures, go with
20:33the utmost realism on
20:35them, I don't feel
20:36bad at all if to
20:37say them, like, you
20:38just put peggles, put
20:40peggles on the
20:41bottoms of the
20:41figure's feet.
20:42Even if they don't
20:43even at all come
20:44included with display
20:44stands, if at least
20:46they're using
20:46universally sized
20:47holes, you could
20:48then just use a
20:49display stand from
20:50another action figure
20:51company.
20:52Outside of that,
20:53though, if you count
20:54out the quantity of
20:55accessories, they're
20:56really about the
20:57same as the
20:57previous Kong, but
20:59not only has the
20:59accessories improved,
21:01but the figure that
21:02goes with them has
21:03improved considerably.
21:04A big thank you
21:05again to the folks
21:06over at Haya Toys
21:06that did provide
21:07this sample.
21:08This was the
21:08brand new Godzilla
21:09X Kong, the new
21:10Empire, exquisite
21:11basic Kong.
21:13He dropped the
21:14king, but he's
21:15certainly still a
21:15king of the
21:16primates.
21:17What do you guys
21:17think this figure?
21:18Let me know down
21:18below in the
21:18comments section.
21:19Is this one that
21:20you guys currently
21:20have on pre-ordered?
21:22And if you have
21:22been able to find
21:23this guy listed on
21:24some of the sites.
21:25Now, again, I
21:25went to three
21:26different sites, the
21:27go-to's like the
21:28BBTS's, Entertainment
21:29Earth's.
21:30BBTS surprised right
21:31away they didn't
21:32even have a listing
21:33for it.
21:33Sure enough, they
21:34had listings for
21:35Arcane Kong, but
21:36not the one from
21:37Godzilla X Kong.
21:38If you guys did
21:39enjoy this video, you
21:40can do it a
21:40solemn throat a
21:41like.
21:41You guys want to
21:42stick around for
21:42more?
21:42So, I hope so.
21:44We have more
21:44actually Haya Toys
21:45reviews coming your
21:46way, so if you
21:46guys really want to
21:47check out more for
21:48that, obviously
21:49there's going to
21:49always be more
21:50videos coming your
21:51way too.
21:51If you also need
21:52your fix for Haya,
21:53popping up at the
21:54very end of this
21:54video will also be a
21:55playlist.
21:56Feel free to give
21:57that a check.
21:57As always, guys,
21:58thanks for
21:58watching, thanks for
21:59checking out this
22:00video, and I'll see
22:03you next time.
