00:00We're not even at the first preseason game for the majority of the NFL teams,
00:04and we are having quarterback controversies in a lot of spots here.
00:06Not even a controversy, Joe Ranieri, on, like, who's going to be the starter,
00:10but who's going to be number two, three, four, five,
00:13or be traded or cut from different teams in different environments.
00:17We're talking right now about the Cleveland Browns,
00:18and we have a clip here of Shador Sanders talking about prime time here in Cleveland.
00:23Like, I look at it at my own point of view.
00:26Like, I don't want him coming to see me right now because I want to get to where I want to go then for him to see me.
00:38I don't want him to come and see me, you know, get a couple reps, and, you know, he's cheering like a good dad.
00:43Like, nah, you can't be proud of me right now.
00:45I got to get to where I'm going, and I know it's a lot I got to do to get there.
00:48So it's kind of like I just want everything that I'm doing is just, like, focus on this time,
00:53and I don't want no distractions because we know out of media we know how everybody will take it
00:58and take away from the team just from him being my own dad showing up.
01:03So, you know, it's a gift and a curse at the same time.
01:07Is he also saying, Joe Ranieri, well, sooner or later my dad's probably going to be the head coach
01:11after we win three games this year, and he'll take over the Cleveland Browns.
01:15Then I want my dad to come see me play because I'll be the starting quarterback here.
01:18Look, Shador Sanders is a good football player, was a very good high school football player,
01:21had a lot of success in college, but the wavering constraints of where he was supposed to go
01:27and what his talent actually measures up in the NFL, there's a lot of baggage around Shador.
01:31He's not a bad kid at all.
01:32We're not saying that, but just coming from where you came from in Colorado,
01:36your father's prime time, he's always chiming in, and I think he's trying to say, like,
01:39hey, dad, don't need you here in camp yet.
01:41Let me try to earn my stripes without you first.
01:44See if that happens.
01:45Great, in theory, right?
01:49But, I mean, this is another one of these situations, and it's unfortunate for Shador, right?
01:55Because, you know, you can pick your friends, you can't pick your family, right, Donnie?
01:59Your father is one of the most well-known, one of the greatest football players to ever step on the field,
02:06two-way athletes, and you had to grow up living in that shadow your entire life.
02:10That's not his fault, but he also, along with that, has never really had to experience any sort of failure, Donnie.
02:18Like, there's never really been a situation where this is Deion's kid, and he's going to be there,
02:24and he's the starter here, he's the starter there.
02:26This is kind of, this is a very important spring for him, because this is going to test him,
02:32and it's going to tell us a lot about him.
02:33Nobody is handing you anything because of who you are and who your father is.
02:38You're going to have to go out and earn it.
02:40I don't know that he's ever had to do that to this point in his life here, Donnie.
02:43So we're going to learn a little something about Shador Sanders here.
02:46And if it means that it's better without his dad at camp, and that's what he's saying here, I agree.
02:52Then do what you got to do to take care of you, because this might be the first time where dad can't bail you out here right now.
