00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Houstonbets and it's another great week here in Manchester.
00:05There is lots of travel news to get into, which is what today's video is about.
00:09So we're going to dive straight in and we're going to start with the trains because we've got bad news.
00:13Many lines across the UK are set to be affected by major infrastructure works over the next few weekends.
00:18It kicked in this weekend just gone when replacement work began being done on a bridge in Stockport.
00:24Network Rail replacing a bridge at the Greek Street's roundabout.
00:27The original was constructed back in 1958 and it needs to be replaced to maintain public safety.
00:32But it is a big job and that means that the railway will be closed through Stockport until at least the 22nd of August.
00:38Now here are some of the services affected that you might need to be aware of.
00:42Avanti West Coast trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe or London Euston are going to struggle.
00:47Cross-country trains from Piccadilly to basically anywhere in the south.
00:51East Midlands trains to Crewe, Nottingham, Norwich and more.
00:55London North Western trains between Crewe or Stoke towards Stafford.
01:00And then obviously Northern Rail are a big one for people in Manchester.
01:03Trains heading to Hazelgrove, Buxton, Sheffield, Alderley Edge, Crewe, Manchester Oxford Road, Stockport, Chester and Staley Bridge are all going to be affected.
01:10While Transpennine Express trains to Liverpool, the airport and Sheffield and Doncaster are going to be impacted as well as some of the Transport for Wales trains.
01:19Now there's a lot of changes there, so please, if you plan on travelling to any of those places, please plan your journeys well in advance.
01:26Finally, on to the Metrolinq and essential works are going on at Pomona and on the Eccles line, which means that until the 11th of August,
01:32no tram service will be operating between Cornbrook on Wharfside or Cornbrook and Eccles via Media City.
01:38Again, that just means you'll have to plan your journeys accordingly.
01:40Be as careful as you can be.
01:41But that's all for now. Follow Manchester World for more and we'll see you again soon.
