00:00This artsy area in West Florida has just made it to the Michelin Guide.
00:03I spent a weekend tasting the best bites and checking out the sights to find out what the
00:07fuss is all about. Prepare to fill up all museums, art galleries and quirky street art before you
00:12sit down for you two. Start with a mural tour. The best way to get to know the city is by exploring
00:17its bright murals spread on buildings across town. Or visit the Chihuly Gallery with its
00:21mesmerising glass sculptures. And make sure you don't miss the Dali Museum. It only has the
00:26largest Dali collection outside of Europe and what a great view with St Pete Harbour right in front.
00:31You will be ready for a meal after all that culture. Dining like a king in St Pete is easy
00:36whether you're on a budget or you're ready to splurge on a little treat. For those budget days
00:41you can't go wrong with Perry's Porch with its mouth-watering seafood and amazing view of the pier.
00:46And for a real treat head to Michelin Spot Fortu. This Japanese inspired but proudly Floridian fresh
00:52produce place serves mouth-watering miso cod, lobster dumplings and much more. You can spend
00:57the afternoon snacking your way through Bohemian Gulfport. But save room for a special French twist
01:02at Baco's Bistro. There to supply the finest cheeses and supple red wines in St Pete.
01:09Start your second day in Safety Harbour. You can explore Artist House Winsieland and then
01:14head to the most coveted cocktail spot in town, Giggle Waters. It really is a special place.
01:19After savouring the house bourbon, your lunch awaits at the Tides, where a working seafood market
01:25coexists with a family-run restaurant. This, without any doubt, was my favourite meal. You don't want to
01:32say goodbye to St Pete, though, without checking out its award-winning beaches. You've definitely
01:37deserved the rest. So head to the Tradewinds Resort for pampering, sunbathing and enjoying that
01:43barefoot luxury vibe. No better way to end your weekend than by enjoying a multi-course dinner
01:48and tipple at St Pete Distillery. No, you don't get to bathe in the gin bathtub,
01:53but you get a no-secret-spared behind-the-scenes tour at the end. And it is a real treat.
