00:00The CGC Awards 2024 30th edition marked a significant milestone in Malaysia's financial ecosystem as Credit Guarantee Corporation, Malaysia Berhad, CGC, celebrated three decades of championing micro, small and medium enterprises, MSMEs.
00:16The prestigious event, recently held in Kuala Lumpur, drew over 280 industry leaders, including financial institutions, strategic partners, government agencies, and award-winning MSMEs.
00:29Gracing the event was the Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, BNM, Datuk Seri Abdul Rashid Ghafoor.
00:35As we celebrate SME's achievements, we must also ensure they remain competitive and resilient in a rapidly changing environment, transforming through automation, digitalisation, and sustainable practices.
00:51Indeed, in the pursuit of our national transformation agenda, including through the new Industrial Master Plan, the National Energy Transition Roadmap, and the forthcoming 13th Nation Plan, which was just announced this morning, the financial sector, including CGC, must evolve in tandem to support this reform.
01:12This year, the CGC Awards honoured 28 winners across three major categories, celebrating performance, innovation, and ecosystem-wide partnerships.
01:21Leading the list of winners was CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad, which took home three major awards, Best Financial Partner, Top Islamic Financial Institution Partner, and Top Bumiputra SME's Financial Institution Partner.
01:34We are extremely honoured to be given the opportunity to partner CGC in this extremely important endeavour.
01:43SMEs are the cornerstone of the Malaysian economy.
01:47CIMB's purpose is to advance customers and society to fulfil our purpose.
01:52We need to work together with the SMEs so that they can grow.
01:58So it is our honour to be able to work with CGC on this extremely important endeavour.
02:02Other leading institutions such as Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad, OCBC Bank Malaysia Berhad, and Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad were recognised as top conventional FI partners.
02:14Meanwhile, the Merdeka Awards, which celebrate inclusive cross-cultural business excellence, were awarded to Sarai Group, Keyfield International Berhad, and Maidan Mohamed Holdings Berhad.
02:25CGC President and CEO, Datuk Mohamed Zamri Mohamed Ishaq, reaffirmed CGC's commitment to Malaysia's MSME ecosystem.
02:31I think, firstly, it is understanding each other's role.
02:35CGC's role is to provide guarantee to the banks who provide financing or lending to MSMEs.
02:43We have been doing this, as I mentioned, for over 50 over years.
02:47And currently, the guarantee and financing that CGC has availed to over 400,000 MSMEs in Malaysia has come up to slightly over 100 billion.
02:58I think, if I recall correctly, it's 103 billion ringgit.
03:01Thank you, generally, thank you.
03:02Thank you for having me.
03:05Yeah, thank you.
