00:51We did a power steering rack.

00:54Because the electric rack, you know, they use a belt between the motor and the rack opinion.
00:59And the belt actually broke on the guy.
01:01It seized the steering. It caught up in there while he was driving.

01:07And so we fixed that.
01:08Had a misfire on cylinder E.
01:11We fixed that.
01:12And then we drove it.

01:14Brought it back to the shop and then...
01:16What did you do to fix the misfire?
01:18Just replace the coil.

04:39And then I'll mount that up on there and then run it in my sim test machine and we'll see
04:44if it develops oil pressure and makes any noise and, you know, do a running compression
04:48test on it.
04:49That's where I would start with it.

04:51I need that old pump because I want to disassemble it and have a look and see, you know,
04:56what grenade it in that thing and seized up.
04:58I guess the soft side of that shaft, that shaft that we're turning that pump with, it
05:03just ate that up, right?

05:14Upon research, none of these engines really have that.

09:52I call it hunting with a shotgun instead of a rifle.
09:54So I'm going to.
09:55I'm going to run that engine on my sim bench.
09:57You know.
09:58Put oil in it.
09:59Get the pump on it.
10:00And check stuff.
10:01And then reopen up that oil filter element.
10:04And see if we've got all that matter gone.
10:06Instead of just ripping the motor open.
10:08And then what.
10:09We get in there.
10:10And we don't really find anything.
10:11So we're going to dig a little deeper.
10:12Waste more time.
10:13More money.
10:14And all this stuff.
10:15And we'll do a running compression test on it.
10:16We'll probably go ahead and borescope some of the holes.
10:19Look at the cylinder walls.
10:20You know.
10:21And stay away from.
10:23You know.
10:24Splitting that whole thing open man.

10:27If I could teach anything to a young man.

10:31That is the secret to success of fixing anything in your life.

11:03Run it for half an hour to an hour.
11:06On the sim test.
11:07Do a running compression test.
11:09We'll pull.
11:10In order to do that.
11:11I got to pull all the coil packs off of it.
11:13So V10.
11:14And then we'll.
11:15Borescope every hole.
11:17Run the compression.
11:18Run it.
11:19Check for oil pressure.
11:20Then we'll disassemble.
11:22The oil filter housing again.
11:24And look at the paper element under a microscope.
11:27And if it all looks good.
11:29At that point.
11:30We'll see if the customers.
11:32Gets lucky.
11:33We'll put the motor back.
11:34But there's some things here that worry me.
11:36These yellow dots here.

11:39This motor's been apart.
11:40And it looks like.
11:41You know they've had it down here to this cooling.
11:44Where the oil.
11:45This is the oil cooler.
11:47So they've had it down before at that point.
11:49So.
11:50I don't know man.

11:55That's seized up a dry sump.
