00:00The Jakarta Declaration on Human Fraternity has officially been adopted today, the capital city of Indonesia.
00:08The declaration emerged from a global conference, drawing inspiration from the 2019 Abu Dhabi document on human fraternity.
00:16Now to know more about the details, let's hear from Ezra Awani's correspondent, Farhan Hakimi, in Jakarta.
00:22Thank you, it's very historical today as I am currently witnessing the Jakarta Declaration on Human Fraternity,
00:29which was officially adopted today in Jakarta, Indonesia, following the completion of the International Conference on Human Fraternity in 2025.
00:39And the declaration opens with a preamble recognizing the urgent need for unity in a world fraught with division,
00:48affirming that human fraternity is not an abstract ideal, but a lived necessity,
00:53one that calls for collective responsibility, moral courage, and shared action.
01:00It is guided by the principles of dignity, justice, compassion, and existence,
01:06and draws inspiration from the Abu Dhabi document on human fraternity for world peace and living together in 2019.
01:14And the signatories pledged to uphold the spirit of fraternity in all communities, policies, and institutions,
01:24establish enduring partnerships between governments, civil society, academia, faith, institutions, media,
01:32and the private sector to champion peace, dignity, and also, again, coexistence.
01:38It also encourages the integration of human fraternity principles into national legislation and multilateral policies,
01:47including climate diplomacy, migration frameworks, development assistance, media communication, and humanitarian action.
01:55And it also stands collectively against war and ensures equitable access to equity, justice, education, health care,
02:06and opportunity for all communities, especially minorities and also the marginalized populations.
02:15And it also convinces regularly to monitor progress and renew collective commitment to these goals.
02:21And this declaration concludes with a call to action.
02:27And it says,
02:29Let this Jakarta declaration on human fraternity serve as a call to action,
02:34a charter of conscience towards a future where every human being is embraced as a brother or sister,
02:42and where unity is not merely aspired to, but lived.
02:47I think that's all from me, from Jakarta, back to you in the studio.
