00:00Officer, wait, before you make a judgment and arrest, listen to what you say.
00:03You're arresting nobody, ask your question.
00:04Because we're not moving from here.
00:05So I know no arrest will have to be made, because we're not moving from here.
00:09The land dispute between re-charging estate farmers, a private citizen,
00:14and the Commission of State Lands continues to intensify,
00:18as the farmers refuse to walk away from their investment.
00:21We're not allowing them to use this road because we create this road.
00:25With all we creating this road, they could have never come in here back here.
00:29We pay an excavator back home and make this road.
00:32And then they come in here back here and certainly change.
00:34Earlier this month, the group of farmers met with TV6 News
00:38and explained that they had been farming the former Karani lands,
00:41some of them for decades,
00:43when they were suddenly evicted three months prior to the general election,
00:48at which point they were informed that the land had been licensed to a private citizen.
00:52You get an arrest again.
00:55I have planned for our land and car get the land.
00:57A man come and I pray.
00:58Three months before election and get 20 acres.
01:02And where our garden is, we have videos with this man to say,
01:05they're not going to excavate and push it down with trees.
01:07We have videos with this man to cut in here, the chain more than once.
01:10Why is it we being the victims in this situation?
01:13And they had to take all of the four stations to deal with serious matters
01:16about going on in the country right now to come and deal with all that issue.
01:19Who is him?
01:20Their refusal to move resulted in the arrest of the farmers for the third time this year.
01:26TV6 News has reached out to the Commissioner of State Lands.
01:56Thanks for an update on the situation.
01:59Renessa Cutting, TV6 News.
