00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Hewson-Betz and we've got something very exciting in store for you today.
00:05You may have seen that the line-up for this year's Manchester Pride Festival has been announced.
00:09And while Jess already has a great piece on the website, we figured that a video going through it all wasn't a bad idea at all.
00:15Now there are two main locations for performers over the course of the weekend.
00:19The Gay Village Party is returning with a host of DJs, performers and more set to take Canal Street by storm.
00:25While the Mardi Gras location is all new and all exciting.
00:29We're going to start at the Gay Village Party though with Samantha Mumba, Luke Lucent, Daniela Corvia and Fat Pride kicking off the Friday night in style.
00:37It looks set to be a perfect night for heavy partying with a focus on great music and celebration.
00:42On the Saturday we have some real all-stars making an appearance with Bewitched taking to the stage.
00:48The Irish girl band are set to bring a brilliant 90s vibe to Manchester Pride and it's guaranteed to be a great performance.
00:54That's not all though with Diana Vickers who rose to prominence following a very successful 2008 stint on The X Factor performing on Saturday too.
01:02With Sister Sledge featuring Cathy Sledge turning the day into a veritable who's who of iconic performers.
01:07On the Saturday there's also going to be the Gaydio Dance Arena which will give people the opportunity to let loose and get dancing along with some crowd-pleasing DJ work.
01:15While Sunday is headlined by Danny Beard, an honorary manc who will be bringing wit, humour and stunning singing to the stage with Angie Brown also taken to the stage on Sunday.
01:25The Sunday will also offer some brilliant opportunities such as Ginny Lemon's Dog Show, Divas Only with Misty Chance and Your Manchester Live with Belinda Scandal.
01:33The weekend we'll also see a huge host of DJs taking to the stage such as Alfie Swagger, Paul Morrill, Chris Blackmore, Rave With Pride, Chris Herbert, Curls, Craig Law, Lalo, Vanilla Takeover and Gina Breeze.
01:45Already there's some great things to get excited about there but let's have a look at Mardi Gras.
01:50Now the line of pronouncement sheet here is pretty startling so we're going to jump right into the big names.
01:55Olly Alexander will be performing, the singer slash actor used to be a part of Years and Years but has more than made a name for themselves now as one of the most loved and respected performers in the country.
02:04Leigh-Anne, formerly of Little Mix, joins Olly at the top of this year's Billings and will be putting on a real show with her solo music influenced by Garage and R&B.
02:12It's going to be a show full of dancing and full of fun.
02:15The final name atop the poster is Billy Porter who surely needs no introduction at all.
02:20Porter has won a Tony Award for Kinky Boots and an Emmy too and the vocal ability, powerful emotion and startling fashion that they bring are enough to steal any show.
02:28Talisa will be performing also as a special guest on the Sunday with some other amazing performers including Tace, Gok Wan, Big Freedia, Louisa Johnson, Danny Beard, Dean McCulloch and endless more.
02:39It won't be surprising to hear that Pride is set to once again be the main event in the social calendar of this brilliant city so make sure you get your tickets ASAP.
02:47There's more on our website so check us out at Manchester World and follow us for more.
02:51Thanks for watching, we'll see you again soon.
