Trying one of Manchester’s best restaurants with Manchester Pride

We went down with the team from Manchester Pride ahead of their 2025 lineup announcement to try out Sexy Fish, one of Manchester’s premiere restaurants.

00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World, my name's Theo Kuusenbert and today is a very exciting video because

00:04It's basically two videos in one for you. Not only are we on our way to Sexy Fish, which is a restaurant

00:10I've been desperate to try ever since it opened here in Manchester, but we're on our way there for the launch of Pride

00:162025. Now if you're from Manchester or even the surrounding area, you won't need to know how big of a deal Pride is right here

00:24in the city. With the Gay Village, we've got an amazing history with the LGBTQ plus community

00:29And it really is one of the highlights of Manchester's social calendar. So we're gonna go there

00:33We're gonna hear from some of the people involved about what the lineup is, some of the amazing events that we've got planned and I'll

00:39Tell you all about it. Maybe show you a little bit of the food as well

00:42So firstly, I want to thank the Pride team for inviting us down to this event

00:45It really is an amazing opportunity to meet some of the awesome people behind the scenes here

00:50And it was amazing being able to learn about some of the lineup before it actually goes out into the public domain

00:56We will have news on that for you tomorrow

00:58We've got to wait for an embargo to pass

01:00But honestly, buckle yourselves in. If Pride is your bag, you are going to be absolutely over the moon

01:05And that's exactly what I was eating here at Sexy Fish

01:09It's an Asian inspired sort of Japanese sushi, sashimi, seafood, fish, meat

01:14restaurant, all cooked on an amazing grill and the layout inside was

01:19Absolutely amazing, really opulent and I felt very fancy just being there. I felt slightly ridiculous wearing a jersey

01:25This is the menu that they served

01:27So it was salmon tartare, which you can see in a little bowl in the middle in just a second, a spicy tuna maki as

01:33Well, which was genuinely might be the best sushi I've ever had. There it is. It's

01:38Startlingly good. They had these little crackers as well. I don't know what they were made from some sort of popped grain

01:45Possibly. A salmon teriyaki. They had pork belly skewers as well with a pear and ginger dip

01:52And when I say I went overboard in eating I absolutely did and that wasn't it

01:56They gave us a little nameplate as well and a little fish that it said on the bottom stolen from Sexy Fish

02:01I felt like that was a bit of a push to steal it, but they rounded off with the best donut

02:05I've ever had I think. If you imagine the sort of Blackpool Beach hot donut

02:09It was like that just elevated to an amazing extent. Great chocolate and passion fruit sauce with it as well

02:14And honestly, I can't recommend it enough

02:19Into just how good that food was and how good the experience of Sexy Fish was on the whole

02:23It is my first time visiting and it absolutely won't be my last. All the food was wonderfully fresh really nicely balanced and

02:32Honestly, I think it might just be one of the best meals I've ever had but that barely covers it

02:37I know I promised at the start this video that this would be a dual video that we'd have a lot of information about

02:41Pride we do have that information. All I can say for now is that it sounds like it's a wonderful wonderful
