01:30I'm just saying, today, since we have my clean vehicle that we enjoy, Melody is a passenger in, we don't want her smelling dust.
01:39Well, what happens when I buy something dirty right now?
01:43It's not coming in this vehicle.
01:44For the safety of our child, I'll do my best not to snag a big dusty locker today.
01:49I'm going to buy small, and I'll try to stay as clean as I can.
01:53I mean, it is Lancaster.
01:54It's kind of dusty out here.
01:56Not just because I'm here.
01:59I've been driving from desert to desert, over the desert, under the desert, through the desert, and all I see is dried up ass cactuses and tumbleweed.
02:11Tumbleweed.
02:12But I'm going all the way to Lancaster, hoping to find me a nice, happy, fun unit.
02:19You know, some games and stuff in there.

04:12Yeah.
04:12I was like, we're both of them.
04:12Double trouble.
04:13That it is.
04:14Double bubble.
04:14That's the only part of it that's true.
04:16You know, it sounds like you're scared of us as a team.
04:19I knew it was a good idea to bring Carrie along.
04:21You know the old saying, I'm the muscle, she's the mouth.
04:25All right.
04:26We might want to ask the blessing of the Lord of Lancaster if we can continue with this auction
04:30in Lancaster.

06:09Yeah.
06:09Come on.
06:10I think he should be banned.
06:11Banned from my land.
06:12All right, Lord of Lancaster.
06:15You going to allow that?
06:16Call him a general to have him beheaded.
06:18You don't have to go that far.
06:19We need his head.
06:20And his hands.

09:20$200 thing right here.
09:22Okay.
09:23This here.
09:24This is for racing the car.

09:29$10, bro.
09:30Let's see what's in here, America.
09:33You got controllers.

09:59What we got?
10:01You can solder in that gun.
10:04A craftsman, this is pretty good.
10:06I'd say about $20.
10:07Oh, this .
10:08Yeah!
10:09Oh!
10:10What we got here?
10:11It look like a little telescope or something.
10:12They got weights in here, come to weights.
10:13They got all kind of information, right here?
10:14I can't understand half of that.
10:15I feel like it's in German.
10:16Kufor and Shaw.
10:17Instructions for placing transitions in the box.
10:19They give you instructions on how to put it in the box.
10:21But they don't give you instructions on what it's used for.
10:23We need to go get this looked at by a professional and make sure we can get some money out of this here.
10:33Yeah.
10:34Okay.
10:35I said the last thing we got, we got three computer screens that's outdated.

11:10What's把 need for?
11:12Looks like a lot of stuff still in the boxes in here.
11:15Bed, a lot of kitchen cooking.
11:17I'm not into kitchen stuff, but if it'll sell, I'll buy it.
11:20What's in those totes?
11:21Is that Christmas?
11:22Clean Christmas.
11:23Nail stuff, gel box.
11:25There's a lot of paper, but there's a lot of boxes.
11:27Sometimes when the boxes are falling over, it means they're full.
11:30Is there light?
11:31No, because they're heavy.
11:32Oh.
11:33It means the weight on top buckled on a lighter one on the bottom.
11:36So it might have treasure hiding.
11:38We've got a folding table for the flea market.
11:40Cheesecake pans.
11:41It's a little miscellany, which is maybe fun.
11:44Hashtag maximalism.
11:45Yeah, it's not just one thing, but I don't know.
11:48A lot of mystery.
11:49I like it.
11:50Yeah, they've got fitness balls and pumps.
11:52They've got tortilla presses.
11:54Make some tortillas for the machaca con huevo.

13:07Oh, they got some nice plummetures.
13:09The lock is right here, the safe is right here.
13:11Look where it's at.
13:12I don't like this.
13:13Remind me of a mausoleum, like the old vampire days where people died and they, man, I don't
13:19like.
13:20They got a big cabinet.
13:21I like that little shelf-looking thing over there.
13:24Cool lamp.
13:25Yeah.

13:42Count me in.
13:43There's a lot of stuff here.
13:44You know, this stuff...
13:45I don't like furniture, though.
13:46I don't like furniture, but the thing is, is like, this furniture was kind of more expensive
13:5020 years ago.
13:51Yeah?
13:52The people sometimes had better stuff, but you know what?
13:54Remember wearing your little car.
13:55Yeah, it's okay.
13:57Let's cool your jets.
13:59Let's just say we won't go over 250 for this one, okay?
14:02Yeah.
14:03I like that.
14:04All right, here we go.
14:05How much money?

15:11But like I always say, winner, winner, tricky leg.
15:15Well, what the Lord wanteth, the Lord taketh.
15:17Oh, big door!
15:26Woo!
15:27Packed and stacked.
15:30Stuff?
15:31This is a lot of stuff.
15:33You see the clothes in the box I'm talking with?
15:34No.
15:37I can't.
15:38Oh, yeah, I see.
15:41How'd you see that?
15:42I'm taller than you.
15:44Oh, wait, how do you see that?
15:46And there's like perfumes, there's some jewelry.
15:49There's some good stuff in here.
15:51That's not going to fit in my car.
15:53Ignore Dusty.
15:53Ignore Dusty.
15:54He's going to say some crap.
15:55Some Lord of the Umbrellas.
15:59Good one, Dusty.
16:00Tell me what you see that you like.
16:03I mean, I just like, it looks like a full, like, everything from a house, you know?

16:10There's an old little cosmetic suitcase.
16:12Yeah, I like this.
16:13You got machetes, you got ninja swords, you got all kinds of stuff in here.
16:19There's a lot of work.
16:19You can't take all this to Vegas.
16:22No.
16:24No.
16:25No?
16:26This room here has got everything.
16:30This locker would require all of my subjects to help me.
16:33Good thing I, Lord Ivy, and my offspring, liveth only ten minutes away.
16:37Got kids' stuff, adult stuff, tons of perfume.
16:41Like that jewelry box, though.

17:47Lock it up.
17:47Lock it up.
17:48Dusty.
17:49Maybe I shouldn't have bid Ivy up so much on his locker.
17:52Folks, that's the end of the auction.
17:54And don't forget to pay the lady.
17:55See you in the office, everyone.
17:59Ready to work.
18:03Carrie and I paid $5.50 for this locker.
18:05Let's see if we can find some tchotchkes up in here.
18:09All right.
18:10Let's do that.
18:10Yes, let's do that.
18:11We've got three, four nail lamps.
18:14New package.
18:15They're brand new.

18:20Here we go.
18:22Oh, look at this little milk glass ashtray.
18:24That's actually...
18:25Oh, that's cool.
18:26Or jade glass.
18:27$20.
18:27Yeah.
18:28It's super cute.
18:29There's more knickknacks.
18:30Okay.
18:30Let's get the knickknacks out.
18:32Okay.
18:32Chotchkes.
18:33Hashtag chotchkes.
18:34Hashtag chotchkes.
18:36Yes, this is like a little...
18:37Baby roll.
18:38Vintage rattle, yeah.
18:39That's cool.
18:40This overplated vintage antique, 25 bucks.
18:42Okay, great.
18:43All right, moving on.
18:46Let's just go for the Versace.
18:48Okay.
18:49Oh.
18:50There's something in there.
18:51Oh, okay.
18:53That's kind of fun.
18:54Wrap bag.
18:54Jewelry.
18:55It looks like there's a few vintage costume pieces.
18:57Uh-huh.
18:57I'll say 40 bucks for a whole box of jewels.
19:00Yeah.
19:02Ooh.
19:02We got like...
19:03Vintage glassware.
19:05That's pretty.
19:06That's nice.
19:07Maybe like 50 bucks worth of glass chotchkes in here.
19:10Yep.
19:10Okay.
19:11This is more nail stuff.
19:16Oh, cool.
19:17Oh, sweet.
19:18Polaroid.
19:18Oh, Polaroid.

19:23$75.
19:24Oh, a sewing machine?
19:26Yes.
19:26Or maybe it's a projector.
19:28Let's see.
19:28That's a sewing machine.
19:29Singer, I bet.
19:30Yeah.
19:31$40.

19:43Oh, you're so sweet.
19:44Mm-hmm.
19:45Oh, I'll just break it.
19:46Oh, I got tiny.
19:47Okay.
19:48Oh, just break it then.
19:49They're like little sewing shachi stringers.
19:51This is cool.
19:52Look at the little tiny.
19:53Oh, little seam ripper.
19:55This is cute.
19:56Is that abalone?
19:57This is Mother of Pearl.
19:59Mother of Pearl.
20:00Yeah.
20:00I feel like this is kind of a special thing.
20:02Do you?
20:03It's cute.
20:04It's like almost like gold leaf.
20:07I don't know.
20:07It's pretty ornate.
20:08I think we should find someone who can tell us if this is actually Mother of Pearl and if
20:14this thing is valuable because I feel like it's pretty old.
20:17Yeah.
20:18I've never seen anything like it.
20:19Put that in the VIP pile.
20:22Ooh.
20:24Okay.
20:25What is this?
20:27It's pretty.
20:27Oh, it's like a leather box.
20:31Oh, you have to push the button.
20:32You have to push the button.
20:33Some instruments.
20:34Ooh.
20:35Look at this.
20:36Is she upside down?
20:38Oh, my God.
20:39It's Victorian Carrie.
20:42I'm going to put this with the baby Mother of Pearl.
20:46These sewing kits are small, but they might be worth some big bucks.
20:50We've got a DVD player.
20:52Okay.
20:52Fifteen bucks.
20:53Mm-hmm.
20:54Ten bucks.
20:55A little personal video DVD player for the car.
20:58Is this VCR?
21:00Or DV?
21:01Oh, this actually is worth money.
21:02I think 50 bucks.
21:04Look, it's a V.
21:05Ezra Winder.
21:06Now we've got 60 bucks.
21:07A little pair.
21:08Okay, great.
21:09Oh, those are kind of sweet.
21:10Mexican.
21:12Mm-hmm.
21:12Hand-painted.
21:13There's four of them in here.
21:15Oh, no.
21:15There's six, seven, eight.
21:17$75.
21:21Sewing stuff.
21:25And other miscellany.
21:26I'm going to just say 100 bucks on this whole thing.
21:29Yeah.
21:29Bed frame, $100.
21:31Nightstand.
21:32We've got the drawers out there.
21:33Fifteen bucks.
21:34Okay.
21:34That's all she wrote.
21:36That's all she wrote.
21:37We did all right.
21:38Hopefully, though, those vintage items we found will be worth a lot.
21:41Shall we ride off into the sunset?
21:46Here we go.
21:48Thanks to Dusty, I paid $1,000 for this locker.
21:51Hopefully, I don't come out a fool.
21:53Whew.
21:53Where do we start?
21:54Right there.
21:56This I saw.
21:57Brand new box right there.
21:5830 bucks easy.
22:00Whoa.
22:02Got to be smarter than the suitcase.
22:03There we go.
22:05Hey, this one looks pretty good, though.
22:06Old droid.
22:07Got the little ring holder.
22:09Ooh, this is a nice-looking purse right here.
22:10Look how clean it is.
22:11Still got the tags.
22:12Ooh.
22:13That's a nice one right there.
22:14$100 on this bag.
22:20Man, that Lord of Lancaster strength is coming in handy today.
22:23All righty.
22:28Saved by the bell.
22:30A little beat up, but $20.
22:32This just might belong to the Prince of Palmdale.
22:34I'll have to give it back to him.
22:36Bam.
22:36This TV right here, $50 in great shape.
22:39Still got the little plastic coming off of it.
22:42That is cool.
22:43$5.
22:44Ooh.
22:45Ooh.
22:45I believe that's a silver hairbrush on the outside.
22:48I know it's going to have chalk on the inside, but that's a good $70 right there.
22:51Ooh.
22:51And that's probably real silver right there.
22:53It does look like it.
22:54Another $40.
22:55This, well, it's already this tall.
22:58Together, that's going to be like an 8-foot china cabinet.
23:00Top and bottom.
23:01No cracks, no dings, no breaks.
23:03In excellent condition.
23:05$600 china cabinet.
23:07This is heavy.
23:08A little portable computer desk.
23:10$20.
23:11Purse.
23:13Purse.
23:15Purse.
23:16Purse.
23:17Wallet.
23:18Purse and wallets.
23:19Got about $200 of the purse and wallets in there.
23:22All righty.
23:23What's this?
23:23Holiday doll.
23:24Ooh.
23:26Ooh.
23:27Here we go.
23:28Do it the easy way.
23:32Reel.
23:33A little bit of reel.
23:35Reel.
23:36$150.
23:37The rest of that, no money.
23:38I think this goes with those two dressers.
23:41All together, $75.
23:42Ooh.
23:42This is some weird-looking stuff here.
23:54Looks like the Knights of the Round Table.
23:55Ooh, that's like a Merlin hood.
23:58Merlin was a creepy dude.
24:00Ooh.
24:01Oh, man.
24:02Ooh.
24:03You wear this sucker, you ain't getting hurt.
24:06Frodo!
24:07Your brain's just protected.
24:09It actually fit pretty good.
24:10I thought my head was too small, but this fit perfect.
24:12Priceless if you're getting a head with a sword.
24:14Gotta be careful.
24:15I might break all this stuff.
24:16Looks pretty delicate.
24:18That's so cool.
24:19Even got a thumb protector right there.
24:22Well, guys, I don't know much about this, but...
24:25You know what I'm saying.
24:27If I don't know what something's worth, find somebody who do.
24:30Ooh, that's sweet.
24:33That's gonna give me a good $75.
24:35All right.
24:35Come on out.
24:36Ooh.
24:37Woo.
24:37No wonder it's so heavy.
24:38Look at it, squishing the tote.
24:40This looks like five Mustangs.
24:42Tall and butt.
24:43These things I've seen sell over the years from, you know, $2,000 down to about $500.
24:48But this one's a little bigger and heavier than what I've seen.
24:51And this is, ugh, 100 pounds.
24:53Probably iron, brass, who knows.
24:56$750.
24:56Easy.
24:57Here, we have four legs.
24:59The table, eight chairs.
25:01So this is a big table.
25:02Pretty good condition.
25:03Only a few scratches.
25:04Thick wood, real wood.
25:05Easy $500.
25:07There's a wash machine here, $150.
25:09A lamp, kind of ornate, $20.
25:12That looks like about it.
25:13As Julius Caesar once said, Vinnie, Vidi, Vici.
25:17Look it up, people.
25:19Not a bad plunder for the Lord of Lancaster.
25:21Now I gotta go see what this medieval stuff is worth.
25:24Whew.
25:25Hey, anybody got a time machine?
25:27Look at the left.
25:31Look at the place.
25:32It's so cute.
25:33It's so cute.
25:35You must be Miss Shannon.
25:36I am.
25:37Why don't you ladies come have a seat?
25:39Carrie and I are meeting with the owner of Miss Shannon Sewing, Miss Shannon, to see if she can pin down exactly what we found the other day.
25:47Let's start with this pretty thing.
25:50I love this.
25:51This is leather.
25:51I love the gold inlay and all the different things that are stamped on there.
25:56Oh, wow.
25:58So this is the early, early version of a sewing kit.
26:01Like, you know, when you go to the grocery store and you see the little plastic sewing kits?
26:05Mm-hmm.
26:06This is all done by hand.
26:08It's probably Victorian during the Victorian era.
26:11Oh, those hands were so teensy.
26:14So tiny, right?
26:15So, yes, and it did belong to a lady because there's a difference in sewing.
26:21There's plain sewing, which is mending and darning, which was done by the maid.
26:26Okay.
26:26And then there's fancy sewing, which was done by the lady.
26:29So typically a lady would come over with her sewing and they would be in a circle and it would be a thing of prestige, like, look at my sewing kit.
26:39Like, I'm a very fancy lady.
26:42Wow.
26:42And then, like, gossiping.
26:44That was their Instagram was, like, the sewing circle.
26:48The sewing circle.
26:49And finding out everything going on in the village.
26:52So this could be something where you lay the scissors on or lay your needle on.
26:58This is a small spool for holding thread.
27:01If you're doing embroidery and you're going to put your project away, you want to put your extra thread here.
27:07And then just hold it for the next time.
27:09This is a hand embroidered pin cushion.
27:12There's a flap.
27:14It lifts up.
27:15What goes in there?
27:17It's so cute.
27:19Pins.
27:20Pins.
27:21These are the scissors.
27:23There's roses here.
27:25It's just beautiful.
27:26So this is a seam ripper.
27:28If you make a mistake, you're able to get, you pick up the seam and then rip.
27:35This is so sharp.
27:36Could you imagine?
27:37You're just, like, doing your little seam ripping and then cut a bitch.
27:43Don't mess with Miss Shannon.
27:44Yikes.
27:45Remind me not to piss off this sweet, soft-spoken sewing lady.
27:49This is a thread cutter.
27:52You put the thread in between here and then it cuts it.
27:56Wow.
27:57And this is gold.
27:58Wow.
27:58Look at all the little details.
28:00And then, do you see how there's a mirror?
28:01I love that.
28:02Isn't that beautiful?
28:03Yeah.
28:03Lisa finds a mirror.
28:04Don't worry.
28:06Find the mirror.
28:07Amazing.
28:07Okay.
28:08There's more.
28:09Take a look at that.
28:10I love this.
28:12Wow.
28:13Mm-hmm.
28:13So, what I thought this was was a jewelry holder, but it isn't.
28:18It's another sewing kit.
28:19Even tinier sewing kit.
28:20For even tinier ladies.
28:23Look at this thimble.
28:24Oh.
28:25Oh.
28:26Isn't that great?
28:27This holds needles.
28:28Really great.
28:29And it's gold.
28:31These scissors are amazing.
28:33Oh, my God.
28:33They're so little.
28:34Look how cute they are.
28:35Is it also Victorian?
28:36Yes, this is also Victorian.
28:38The clasp still works.
28:41Oh, yeah.
28:41That looks good.
28:42Nice.
28:43This is mother of pearl.
28:44Mm-hmm.
28:45Okay, so now you've seen everything.
28:49How much can we stitch together?
28:51Well, there's damage here.
28:53Mm-hmm.
28:54Like, the ribbon inlay is damaged.
28:57There's a little bit of mold right here, which could be repaired.
29:01This is beautiful.
29:03Just lovely.
29:03And this, I'm really surprised by this, that it's actually a sewing kit.
29:09I really thought that this was something that you put your jewelry in while you're sewing
29:13and while you're crafting.
29:14There's a little bit of damage, but that's okay.
29:17Everything about this is just so precious and beautiful.
29:20So, total, I'd say $1,200.
29:26Oh, nice.
29:27Yes.
29:28That's awesome.
29:29Yeah.
29:30Sweet.
29:31Double buying power equals double profits.
29:34Seamlessly done.
29:35Seamlessly done.
29:36Okay.
29:37I'll just use my giant lady hands and see my way out.
29:41Well, let's see what I got.
29:46Are you ready?
29:47Because I'm excited.
29:48This locker is so big, we had to go back and get my truck.
29:52But at least Lupe's car won't get dirty.
29:57So, is it everything you hoped and dreamed for?
29:59Somehow, it's not looking as good as I remember.
30:03Let's load the best stuff in the truck first.
30:05What we're doing is keep in mind, there's a lot of stuff.
30:09So, if it looks like mail, then move it along.
30:11No value.
30:15Be careful.
30:16Why?
30:17You made a mess.
30:19But why?
30:20I don't know.
30:21This is not a good start.
30:23We have to wait for another empty box.
30:25Oh, yeah.
30:26All right.
30:27Perfumes, sprays, I say $10.
30:32That?
30:32That was a Versace.
30:34It's in there.
30:35Oh, it's right there?
30:36Look, this is Gucci.
30:38Probably have $100 right there.
30:41This looks like new household goods.
30:44Woo-hoo!
30:45People like this.
30:46Yeah, look at that.
30:47What's you in boxes?
30:48I don't know.
30:49They fall apart.
30:50There's brand new silverware.
30:52Yeah.
30:52And then we have a lot of other brand new stuff.
30:54I mean, there's at least $50 in here.
30:59Let's go for black and yellow toast.
31:01The black and yellow toast is where we put the good stuff.
31:03Oh, shoes.
31:06Some of these don't even look.
31:07They look new.
31:08I mean, in used shoes, you've got at least like $50.
31:10It's like one of those we've only just begun type of deals.
31:13These people spared.
31:14Oh, wow.
31:14Oh, wow.
31:15That is a lot of shoes.
31:16$40?
31:17Yeah.
31:17More shoes.
31:18Are these cleats?
31:19Yeah.
31:20You can at least get $40.
31:23Here's all your jewels.
31:26Okay.
31:26Here's a ring box.
31:28Is it in there?
31:29Damn, girl.
31:30You got you some gold.
31:32Really?
31:32Look at it.
31:33It's perfect for you, too.
31:34It says, Mom.
31:35Really?
31:36Yeah.
31:36Aw.
31:37Maybe $200 in gold.
31:38Yes.
31:39I can smell the gold.
31:40I saw the little box.
31:41I have to look at every single piece.
31:45No, you don't have to.
31:46You can go really quick.
31:47Yeah.
31:48There's nothing else right there.
31:49Could be one of the mystery.
31:51Really?
31:52You can smell it?
31:57What is this?
31:57No way.
31:58That's too big.
32:00You'd be too lucky if that was gold.
32:02Sweetheart.
32:03I'm getting excited.
32:04I think you hit.
32:05Italy.
32:06This is 14.
32:07Wait, does it say Italy?
32:08That's 14 carat.
32:09Really?
32:09That is a...
32:10Yay!
32:10That is a...
32:12This is like $2,000 in gold.
32:14Just this paid for my whole room.
32:17Just that little piece.
32:18Okay, let's go.
32:18Sniffing out the gold to my specialty.
32:20I mean, the nose knows.
32:23I'm just going to move this to right here.
32:24Bye.
32:26A lot of cups for a lot of alcohol.
32:28At least $50.
32:29Here comes the clothes.
32:31I mean, this is at least $50.
32:34More clothes.
32:36This is what we call baby teas.
32:39And there's a lot of them.
32:40Like $300.
32:42Persis.
32:43I see some polo, Ralph Lauren.
32:44Maybe $100.
32:46Here, close.
32:47I see velour.
32:49Could be juicy couture.
32:50$50.
32:52I'm just going to say $100 more of clothes here.
32:55There's like 40 more boxes here.
32:56Probably have over $1,000 worth of more great flea market stuff.
33:01So I'm good.
33:02Hmm.
33:03I'm going to start loading up now.
33:05All right.
33:06Now I've got to figure out how to get down from here.
33:07I've been a tool expert.
33:18So I thought maybe he could tell me what this telescopic tooly thing is.
33:23Hey, I've been.
33:25Yeah?
33:26Hey, bro.
33:26I got this thing.
33:27I don't know what it is.
33:28Maybe you can tell me what it is.
33:30Let's call a car.
33:31No.
33:32Is it a trunk, dog?
33:33Oh.
33:33What you want to say?
33:34Let's call a car, brother.
33:36Cool little old school box.
33:39Yeah, let me know.
33:40Ooh.
33:41I know what that is.
33:42What is it?
33:42That's one of the things they measure the land with is level and all that stuff.
33:45They tell if it's flat or healy or how long and all that.
33:49You know what?
33:49Perfect timing.
33:52Hey!
33:53How you doing, bro?
33:55Doing good.
33:56How are you?
33:56What's your name?
33:58Zamp.
33:58Zamp?
33:59Zamp.
33:59That's my boy, Ivy.
34:01Ivy said you probably could tell me what this is.
34:03Yeah, I think so.
34:04It looks pretty familiar to me.
34:05I think that might be some sort of survey instrument.
34:07Come on, Hap.
34:08No, no.
34:08I got stuff to do.
34:09Oh.
34:11All right.
34:12So what are you doing out here?
34:14I'm actually making some content for some land surveying classes that I teach.
34:18I'm a land surveying professor at College of the Canyons.
34:21Oh.
34:21Yeah, so I got all my survey stuff set up.
34:24Yeah.
34:24Let's see what we got here.
34:25You definitely got a surveying instrument here.
34:27This is an old transit.
34:29Let me see if I can get this out.
34:31There we go.
34:32So land surveyors, engineers, any type of construction work, layout.
34:36You would use one of these so you could get accurate points to draw a map.
34:39And that's how we put coordinates on points and we make maps.
34:42So property lines, topographic maps.
34:46Some of these, like this era, would have been used in, like, mine surveys.
34:49I've pretty much got, like, the great-grandson of this thing over here.
34:53You telling me this is this and that is this?
34:55Pretty much.
34:56What you're looking at right here, this is, like, your main eyepiece scope part.
35:00That's right through here, right?
35:02So that's just looking through this.
35:04You've got a compass down here for angles.
35:07You've got another one on the side here on this wheel for verticals.
35:11Mine's all digital, but it's all there.
35:13So you don't even have to write anything down anymore.
35:15That's cheating, man.
35:16It is a little bit, yeah.
35:17So they got some information in this thing right here.
35:21So this one right here has got the name on it.
35:22It's a Keffel and Esser Co. from New York.
35:25You know, I think that company might actually still be around,
35:27or at least they made stuff for quite a while.
35:29How does this work, man?
35:31Well, if you want, I can just kind of show you quickly
35:33how it would be on top of a tripod and working.
35:36So let's see if we put this up here.
35:39And we're just going to pretend, keep a hand on it.
35:42Yeah.
35:42It's got a couple of things.
35:44To help you center it, it actually has
35:46the ability to slide on this plate right here.
35:48And then this is your leveling procedure.
35:51You've got these two bubbles,
35:53which are used for getting the whole instrument level.
35:56Then you've got a bubble on the site right here.
35:59This is for getting it perfectly leveled.
36:02We've got, looks like, focus knob.
36:04You've got another little, like, eye relief focus right here.
36:06You can see it coming in and out.
36:07So, you cite some reference line from end point to end point,
36:12and then I can turn it off and then go a distance
36:15and put coordinates, a whole bunch of radio lines coming out,
36:18and then I can actually turn it on a line
36:19and make a map up.
36:20Just start making the map up, and then go a distance
36:22and put coordinates on another point.
36:24I know he said these things help mix maps,
36:29but I'm lost, America.
36:31So, um, can you, uh, put a price on this old binocle set?
36:37So, these are really worth something to the surveyor
36:39and the engineers are to be the ones that that's your marketing.
36:41Engineers got a lot of money.
36:43Yeah, they do.
36:44So, this transit, in this condition, the box,
36:49I mean, you got the stuff.
36:50I mean, it still feels like it's in perfect working order.
36:53I mean, usually these things are all bound up and stuck up,
36:55but somebody took care of this one.
36:56It looks pretty nice.
37:00Surveyor says...
37:03Probably about 800 bucks.
37:05I'll see you, bro.
37:07Surveyor says...
37:09I'm a winner.
37:11Thank you so much.
37:12Appreciate you, my man.
37:13No worries. Anytime.
37:14Have a good one.
37:15You too, brother.
37:21Today I'm at the Cauldron of Spirits and Brews
37:23to see what this medieval stuff is worth.
37:26I'm meeting with Brian Barron.
37:29Meeting with Brian...
37:30Meeting with Brian...
37:32Damn.
37:33I'm meeting with...
37:34Meeting with Brian...
37:35Brian Barron.
37:39Brian.
37:39Oh, Lord Ivy Calvin.
37:44Yeah, he's more than welcome.
37:55Oh, these are nice.
37:57Oh, thank you.
37:58I definitely see some medieval accoutrements here.
38:01So, how have you come to know about all this stuff?
38:02Well, I'm part of Westmarch, which is a non-profit organization.
38:07It focuses on creating an inclusive community designed to get people outside, learning about
38:12the arts and the sciences, and participating in a game we call Ampt Guard.
38:18While we create weapons, we have a game that allows us to use them in a safe environment.
38:22Talk medieval to me.
38:23What I'm seeing in front of me here is a very common nasal helm to protect that brain.
38:30You're going to need a helmet.
38:31What we have here is what I would call a Norman helm.
38:35Norman.
38:35And this helm here would be designed to give to a foot soldier.
38:38Somebody who's going to have to move great distances would want to wear this helmet as
38:44opposed to a much heavier helmet because they've got a lot of places to be, but they still
38:48want to keep their head protected.
38:49So, would that take a hit in the head with a sword?
38:51Once.
38:52Oh, all it was.
38:54Metal was designed to stop swords, so that's where you saw the implementation of axes and
39:00maces and other blunt instruments.
39:03You can make a dent in this a lot easier than you can make a cut into this.
39:08This is handcrafted, and I can tell that because the rivets inside are punched.
39:12Those are hand-done.
39:13Somebody took time to actually put this together.
39:16When I picked this up, I expected this to be a mass production helmet until I saw the inside
39:21with the punch rivets.
39:22That actually increases the value a little bit.
39:25Oh.
39:25I really like this item more than I thought I did when you put it on the table.
39:29Okay.
39:30Now, for the gauntlets over here, this is actually a combination.
39:36We have gauntlets and greaves together.
39:39As you can see, I'm wearing greaves.
39:41I do not have the gauntlets on, so I can actually grab things in an easier capacity.
39:45I see we have a fine workman's glove on the inside with articulated fingers, and we see
39:51the articulated greaves as well.
39:54So when you go up the arm, it still allows you flexibility, which is very nice.
39:58Now, I've heard running a gauntlet.
40:00Is that the same thing?
40:01Well, no.
40:02The gauntlet, as you know, of course, is running through a challenging course.
40:05In this situation, a more apt phrase might be throwing down the gauntlet, which would
40:10be issuing a challenge by dropping a gauntlet on the table.
40:13Ah.
40:13So if I threw that in front of somebody, I'd be like, it's time to fight?
40:16Yes.
40:16It would be considered an aggressive move.
40:18Ooh.
40:19I think I'd fit in on those times.
40:20I think you might do well.
40:21You definitely are formidable as you stand.
40:23All righty.
40:24And we have a cloak.
40:25Now, Sir Spade, I may need your assistance with this as I am seated.
40:30I'd like to see the length.
40:31Oh, that is nice.
40:33Being of wool, it would keep somebody very warm.
40:36We have a wonderful brass accoutrement up there, wonderful gold edging, and the cloak will
40:41keep you warm on any of the coldest nights.
40:44Sir Spade, will you please add the hood and then give us a little spin?
40:48Let's see how this works.
40:51That is outstanding.
40:52The Lord of Lancaster would like to know, how much do I have in my wares?
40:57What you have here is three items of true, genuine quality.
41:01There's going to be somebody who's looking to add this to their collection, maybe to finish
41:05off their accoutrements.
41:07None of this is knockoff.
41:08None of this is in bad condition.
41:10It's wonderful stuff.
41:11$650.
41:17The Lord is happy.
41:19A small triumph, but a good day's work for the Lord of Lancaster.
41:23Well met, my friend.
41:24I hope to see you on the field of battle in the future.
41:26You will.
41:27Come on, Spade.
41:28Let's go get us a drink.
41:29Whoa, whoa, whoa.
41:29I'm following you, Spade.
41:30All hail Ivy Calvin, whose reign brought forth 2,500 buckaroos.
41:39Dusty and Lupe paid some heavy taxes, but still managed to take home 2,300 in profit.
41:46Lisa Delario stitched together a tidy 1,400 bobbins, while Kenny Crosley...
41:53Surveyor says...
41:55...mapped out a nice chunk of change.
41:59I would like to present something to you from Westmarch.
42:04Please stand.
42:07For goods recognized as fine wares, and for stout perseverance in achieving honor and success,
42:15AmpGuard Kingdom of Westmarch dubs you Lord Ivy Calvin.
42:21Awesome.
42:21Thank you, thank you.
42:22It's going up on my wall.
42:24Glad to be here.
42:24Maybe even the fridge.
