00:00Auggie! Junie! Breakfast time! Come get it! Good boy! Hi baby! You hungry?
00:13Where's my boy? Okay, gotta get creative. I gotta think of something. Something different.
00:23Hmm. Dad. Gary. Yeah! Oh yeah. Yes! Bingo!
00:50Hmm. Hello Gary.
01:05When storage units are abandoned, the treasures within are put up for auction.
01:14I got scored on this. I'm in the green! Look at this. Money, baby!
01:19Money, all this time.
01:22Danny, do you ever remember your dreams?
01:28Yeah, yeah. Matter of fact, I had a dream last night. I had a dream. I was eating this big sandwich.
01:34I had one too, Danny. I did. It was just like this. We were headed to Merino Valley, getting ready for today's auction. We get there. All of the buyers there, but they're kind of like different. They're like strange, like changing. You know how dreams kind of do that?
01:49Exactly. My dream started off. It was like a turkey sandwich. And then...
01:52Exactly. As I predicted, Danny. Today, I'm going to have premonitions on everything. I even feel as though I know there's going to be some drama. Yes!
02:01Sounds like you just know everything that's going to happen.
02:03I do. I do.
02:05Am I going to get a chance to tell you about my dream?
02:08Yes. It turned out to be a ham sandwich.
02:11How'd you know that? Am I talking in my sleep?
02:16It turned into a ham sandwich. As soon as I was going to take a bite, it turned into exactly what I wanted. I didn't want turkey, but I wanted ham.
02:22It's going to be premonitions all day, I told you.
02:24I'm going to get everything I want.
02:25Everything I want.
02:26I'm getting a ham sandwich today.
02:31Man, these storage auctions are so addicting. I just can't miss an auction. It brings me to areas I don't normally even shop in. I had to come all the way out to Moreno Valley because it's pure FOMO.
02:42I just know that if I don't come out here today, it's going to keep me up at night about all the stuff that I missed.
02:48I can't lose sleep from a locker. I'm already losing sleep from a toddler. I've got to see what's here.
02:57So it's bring your daughter to work day.
02:59Oh, it's bring your dad to work day. It's going to teach you how it's done, right? I can help out a little bit too. I don't mind.
03:05What do you mean you can't help out a little bit? I brought you for hard labor.
03:08What? Well, don't go buying some of that big stuff, right?
03:12Actually, I'm going to let you decide today what unit we buy.
03:15You're going to let me decide?
03:16Yeah.
03:17Well, who's paying?
03:18Mm-hmm.
03:19How many years have you been doing this again?
03:21Way too long.
03:22But enough to support a little kid from all the way from baby all the way till grown-up.
03:26I was going to say little kid.
03:28Don't you move out at 18?
03:29Mm-hmm.
03:30Mm-hmm.
03:31You're old enough now.
03:32You need to take some chances to take some educated risks.
03:35Okay.
03:36Just make a good decision, please.
03:37Sit back, relax.
03:38We're going to find something nice.
03:39We'll see.
03:40Oh, Valley.
03:45We're back.
03:47Here's the mathematicals.
03:49Less money plus more value equals more Valley.
03:56What up, homie?
03:57Hey, Kenny.
03:58How you doing, girl?
03:59Nice to see you.
04:00You too.
04:01Oh, my goodness.
04:02I saw you always like, is that Kenny?
04:04Yeah.
04:05My dad brought me along.
04:06You got to bring the muscles, right?
04:07Hell, yeah.
04:08He brought the brain and the muscles.
04:09Oh, yeah, exactly.
04:10Hey, I like that.
04:11There he is.
04:12Here comes Sha-na-na.
04:13What's up, Sha-na-na?
04:14What's up, bro?
04:15All right.
04:16Now, low-key Bowser.
04:17Ready to party.
04:18You want to get one shirt on?
04:19Yeah.
04:20I got two.
04:21You're going to take one of them.
04:22You're going to be a strip tease out here.
04:23They're going to be hot.
04:24You know, I probably can walk on the sidewalk,
04:25make a little something-something.
04:26You know how we do it in West Frankfurt?
04:28Yeah.
04:30See, you know what, bro?
04:31I never ate schnitzel.
04:33You never ate schnitzel?
04:34No, what the hell is a schnitzel?
04:35They got to take you.
04:36Oh, my gosh.
04:37It's the best.
04:38I think Germany invented it.
04:39Any meat that they had, they would just deep fry.
04:41Schnitzel is just any meat?
04:43In Germany, the famous schnitzel is pork schnitzel.
04:45Ain't that something.
04:46Yeah.
04:47Rene knows a whole lot of schnitzel about schnitzel.
04:50What's up, bro?
04:51Hi.
04:52What's up, girl?
04:53I'm looking great.
04:54I don't know, yeah.
04:55You smell good.
04:56I wash.
04:59Sweating walls out here.
05:01I'm not getting enough respect from the other buyers.
05:04So today, I'm going to be the person that I respect the most.
05:07My good old Daddy Gary.
05:09Hey, it's not the first time somebody's come to an auction in disguise.
05:13When I get out of that chair, my own mother's not going to recognize me.
05:21I can't spoil my cover, so I got to lay low and be cool as all heck.
05:26Well, look who's in town.
05:27Hey.
05:28How you doing?
05:29Oh, my gosh.
05:30Come on.
05:31Oh, big Kenny.
05:32You know I want some love.
05:33Oh, my God.
05:34I dreamt you were here last time.
05:35Really?
05:36I'm hungry.
05:37I need it.
05:38Oh, wow.
05:39You know Danny dreamt about food.
05:40All right.
05:41So enough about dreams.
05:42Tell me about your dream, Kenny.
05:43My dream, me finding a locker with a lot of money in it.
05:45What's the craziest dream you've had?
05:46Probably riding a unicorn.
05:47Unicorn?
05:48For real?
05:49You ride a unicorn?
05:50I'm not embarrassed.
05:51Where else you supposed to ride a unicorn, but in your dreams.
05:52Welcome to the auction.
05:53We're down and an Austin with American auctioneer.

05:59My dream is finding me finding a locker with a lot of money in it.
06:00What's the craziest dream you've had?
06:01Probably riding a unicorn.
06:02Beautiful.
06:03For real?
06:04You ride a Unicorn.
06:05I'm not embarrassed.
06:06Where else you supposed to ride a unicorn, but in your dreams?
06:07All right.
06:08Welcome to the auction.
06:09We're Dan and Lori Austin with the American Auctioneer.

06:18and give you five minutes to take a look around.
06:20You can't go inside.
06:21You can't open any boxes.
06:22And who's ever got the most money in their pocket can own it today.
06:25Fire it!
06:25Let's go!
06:26Let's go!
06:27All right, folks, let's go!
06:29Let's go!
06:31First unit this way!
06:33The first unit, it's just like my dream.
06:35This is too crazy, Dan.
06:37What does this mean?
06:38It means you're crazy.
06:39Let's go.
06:40Woo-hoo!
06:43Five by ten!
06:45Come on!
06:47Uh-oh.

06:49Woo!
06:49Here we go.
06:50You're going to like the way you look cleaning up this unit.
06:53Yep.
06:57Wow.
06:58Baby stuff.
06:59Television.
07:00Older one.
07:01Stroller.
07:02You never know what can be in those boxes.
07:03They're out of the back.
07:04I mean, we could take a chance here.
07:06Ooh, shoes.
07:07Baby toys, later model TV, mystery, dirty backpack.
07:13I mean, for cheap, it's good.
07:15It just all depends on price.
07:17Nah, nah, nah, nah.
07:19Big TV.
07:20I remember that little popcorn thing when I was a kid.
07:23But you know what?
07:24That paint bag looked pretty interesting.
07:27Oh, yeah.
07:28Yeah, this looks pretty interesting.
07:29Uh, well, uh, I like how tidy it is.
07:35It is tidy.
07:36It's a big old TV, though.
07:38And it's mysterious, too.
07:40Let's just see how this one rolls out.
07:43Do you think he knows it's me?
07:44Nah.
07:45If he did, he'd be busting my chops right now.
07:47Who that is?
07:49Which one?
07:49It is.
07:50It's Lisa.
07:51What's your name, man?
07:52Gary.
07:53Gary, Gary.
07:54Put her there, bro.
07:55Low-key undercover, look.
07:58Oh, I remember my first trying to hide.
08:02Sweating balls out here.
08:03I see you.
08:04Looks like Ernest scared stupid.
08:06You're right there.
08:08Cute.
08:09She thinks being some weirdo is going to help her.
08:11It never helped me.
08:13All right, you got a nice little mystery unit.
08:15Start a minute.
08:15Yes.
08:16Send him down to 20 where?
08:17I got 25 there.
08:18What about 55 where?

08:46I was going to find a call at $195 tonight.
08:48Go ahead, do it.
08:49Kenny, do it.
08:50You got it for $185.
08:51Thank you, America.
08:52I dreamt you won that.
08:56Machaca con huevo for everybody.
08:58I got nine boxes to open.
09:00I spend more time in the drive-thru to figure out what I'm going to order.
09:04Now, this is what I'm talking about.
09:06Less money, more value.
09:08We're going to go to the popcorn thing.
09:10It brought back so many childhood years right here.
09:13$10 for this.
09:14It's all about the paint bag.
09:16This is the main reason why I got this here unit.
09:19And what we got in here?
09:20Papers.
09:22Kenny, you got bamboo.
09:23This is no money.
09:24Come on, Kenny.

09:43Oh, there they go.
09:44Oh, my God.
09:45It looked like everybody walked $1,000 in their shoes.
09:48Let's say $20 for this here box here.
09:51They spent all the money on tape.
09:53Instead of no good brand-name shoes.
09:55Oh, my God.
10:00They spent all the money on tape.
10:02Instead of no good brand-name shoes.
10:05Oh, my God.
10:07This is a thong.
10:08Ding-a-ling, ding-a-ling.
10:10Ain't more value.
10:11This is more nasty.
10:12I thought I was going to make a profit.
10:15But thong again.
10:16This is all drawers at the time.

10:41I said this whole box is probably about 20 bucks.
10:44Big TV.
10:45They got stickums all on here.
10:46Look.
10:47They got stickums.
10:48This look like the TV that little girl crawled out of.

10:51I knew she got paid a lot of money with that bull .
10:58No money, bruh.
11:00Please let there be something in here.
11:03Clothes.
11:04Again.
11:06About $25 worth of clothes.
11:09Well, America, your boy has been struck out in Marino Valley.
11:14And you know what it is?
11:16It's time to go back to the auction,
11:17because your boy messed up a hundred-something hamburgers.
11:24Come on, let's go!
11:27Oh, boy.
11:29Tools to make you drool.
11:30Look at those.
11:34Dusty unit for you, Dusty.
11:36You got some airplanes, some fishing poles, some old, they look like toolboxes.
11:41There might be some antique fishing lures in here, though.
11:44Yeah, this looks like some interesting old trash.
11:47That's a nice dresser.
11:48We got some fishing poles.
11:49All right.
11:50That's for, uh, I am quite the sports person.
11:53You do look sporty.
11:54Yeah, I prefer a bow and arrow, but, you know.
11:58God.
12:00There's a little plane.
12:01Yeah, there's a bunch of tools here.
12:02A little suitcase power tools down there.

12:41There's no smoking at the auction.
12:43Okay.

12:46Yeah, Steve lit a cigarette, Ken.
12:47Oh, Lord.
12:48Gary.
12:49Steve, don't smoke on the job.
12:50All right.

13:48Psychological warfare would have been seven.
13:49What did Gary ever do to anybody?
13:51I don't know, but Gary needs to go 700 if Gary's playing this game.

14:17I love it!
14:18Hang on.
14:19He almost looked like a white Tupac.
14:20Ha, ha, ha, ha!
14:22All right!
14:23You had me confused, Gary.
14:25Get your glasses.
14:27Lisa is Steve.
14:28I mean, Gary.
14:29I mean, Steve is Gary, and Gary is Lisa.
14:34Well, I guess my strategy kind of worked.
14:37I mean, I got it.
14:38I think this is a good locker.
14:39But I wish I didn't have to spend so much on it.
14:42Oh!
14:43Can't get any respect around here as Lisa or Gary.
14:52All right!
14:53Somebody's taking this home!
14:56Oh, yeah!
15:01I didn't know, though, that you were you until I got it.
15:03You didn't?
15:04Not at first.
15:05That's why I kept going,
15:06what are you messing with that stranger?
15:07And I'm like, there's something about him.
15:10You got the accent down.
15:11Yeah.
15:11Somewhere between Texas and Oklahoma.
15:13Yeah.
15:14You know I done grown up where I done grown up.
15:16Ha, ha, ha, ha!
15:17All right.
15:18What do we have here?
15:20Ceramic, uh, pie plate there?
15:22Well, you know what?
15:22It looks like somebody was selling,
15:23because, look, everything has price tags on it.
15:25Yeah.
15:26A lot of the stuff is vintage.
15:27That's a good lock.
15:28There's a lot of potential.
15:28Let's see.
15:29Let's see what it goes for.
15:30This person was obviously reselling vintage holiday stuff.
15:35I mean, it's good just for the volume.
15:37Holidays right around the corner always,
15:39especially for vintage Christmas.
15:40Vintage Christmas, sellable year-round, every day.
15:44Mm.
15:45We got boxes.
15:47I see a lot of work.
15:49Have some cheeseburgers afterwards.
15:50Who you telling, bro?

24:46So zero
24:47Let's see
24:49Is the hot plate clean or dirty?
24:51Well, the box is broken, so
24:53Pick it up again
24:54No, but it's, uh, sturdy
24:57The box
24:58You're gonna sell the box itself?
25:00Oh, well, it's brand new
25:01Now it's brand new
25:02Oh, okay, never mind
25:03How much would you say?
25:04I'd say like ten bucks, right?
25:05Ten bucks
25:06That scooter right there
25:07It looks like it's complete
25:08It actually has the key in there
25:09Oh, yeah, you're right
25:10Most likely you will have to buy
25:12A brand new battery for that
25:13I bet you you can sell this to somebody
25:15For a hundred bucks
25:16That reconditions these things
25:17High five
25:18This is money right here
25:20Ooh
25:21Doc Martens, nice
25:2240 bucks used
25:23And ooh, ResMed stuff
25:25Actually, can we sell this stuff?
25:27You don't want to find the machines
25:28Because that's illegal to sell
25:29But supplies like this all day long
25:31I bet you that's 40
25:33The replacement tank is 60
25:35The hose is at least 20
25:37And at that part, 10 bucks
25:38Here's some more
25:39Three more there
25:40All right, so let's say 10 each, 30
25:42Here's another one, actually
25:44Here's another
25:45Oh, water tank, these are good
25:46These are 60 bucks a piece
25:47Here's another core
25:48That's 20
25:49Oh, ResMed
25:50There we go
25:5140 bucks
25:52DVD player
25:53So actually these do good online
25:54Because people buy them to burn the old VHS
25:56If you verify that this works
25:57You get like a hundred bucks for these
25:59Okay
26:00Another water tank
26:0160
26:02So we bought the unit because of that box
26:03You bought the unit
26:04Mm-hmm
26:05So what I want you to do
26:06I want you to pick it up
26:07Put it on top here
26:09Oh
26:13So we bought the unit because of that box
26:14You bought the unit
26:15Mm-hmm
26:16So what I want you to do
26:17I want you to pick it up
26:18Put it on top here
26:20Oh
26:21That is not a good reaction
26:23Oh no
26:24It was actually the movie
26:25Dumb and Dumber
26:27Oh, is that like a metaphor for us?
26:30Oh my gosh
26:31You bought it
26:32But you know you got another 20 bucks in DVDs
26:34You have the SS Titanic over there
26:36We have to go get checked out
26:37You know what?
26:38Let's take this ResMed stuff
26:39Yeah
26:40Let's get out of here
26:41We'll load the rest
26:42Let's go kayaking
26:49I'm meeting Charles Phoenix at King Richard's Antique Vintage Center to show him my Vendorama
26:54I'm hoping it dispenses some serious cash
26:57I love it
26:58Very cool piece
26:59Well, hi Charles, I'm Dusty
27:01How you doing, Dusty?
27:02Dusty or Dustin?
27:03Well, you know
27:04I'm gonna call you Dustin
27:05I like it
27:06It's very on point for you
27:08Speaking of on point ballpoint pens
27:10This is an awesome vending machine
27:12First of all
27:13You know what I really love about it?
27:14The way the word says Vendorama
27:16I mean anything with an O-rama
27:18That actually adds value to this
27:20And also the fact that it's kind of written in your favorite lesbian aunt's handwriting
27:24We love that
27:25So yeah, it's a ballpoint pen vending machine
27:28The first thing that draws me to it is the color
27:31Look how many colors there are
27:33It looks like Easter in there
27:34It's a classic mid-century, 50s, early 60s
27:38Great quality, it's a little wood cabinet
27:40I can absolutely guarantee you
27:42This is a rare vending machine to find
27:45I've never seen it, have you?
27:46No, this is the first time
27:47Yeah, I've never seen that before
27:48Definitely exciting
27:49So basically at this point
27:50This is a piece of art
27:52As well as a cool collectible
27:54And it's got a good crossover too, right?
27:56I could sell it to a pen collector
27:58An advertising collector
28:00A mid-century decorator
28:01You're right
28:02A wide range of different customers, no?
28:03It does
28:04Good point
28:05Let's see if it works
28:06There's a dime right here actually
28:07Oh, careful, don't grab the mouse poop
28:09Oh, what?
28:10Mouse poop?
28:11Yeah
28:12I don't want any mouse poop
28:13It's a full package
28:14Okay, you get it all here
28:15Here goes the diamond
28:16Dime
28:17Oh, look at it, it turns and everything
28:19Oh, there is one that came out
28:20Oh, you got the two-for-one
28:22There is two
28:23Oops
28:24A pink and a red
28:25And a pink and a green
28:26These colors just scream 1950s kitchen
28:30There's a certain quality about this plastic
28:32It has a nice shine to it
28:34It feels good
28:35It looks good
28:36All these pens actually really add to the value of it
28:39And it works
28:40And it works, right
28:41But thing is, it really needs a good detail to bring out the real value
28:46This is very, very, very clean-effable
28:49Any great invention ends with O-Rama
28:52I know
28:53But there's one O-Rama that I'm the most worried about
28:56What?
28:57I want to know about the revenue-O-Rama
28:58And I'm not trying to print dimes here, Charles
29:00So cut straight to the chase
29:02Okay, this Vindorama
29:04I would say not a penny less than 750
29:11Mwah
29:12I would say you scored
29:13Tasty
29:14Anything with O-Rama behind it is like
29:16It just kind of gives the human spirit a depth of importance and thrill
29:21It doesn't get more classic than that
29:26Whew, here we go
29:30I paid $700 for this locker
29:33I hope Gary knew what he was doing
29:36Okay, well, shoot, I didn't even notice we got golf clubs in here
29:42I'm no Cougar Woods, but I bet these are worth $100
29:45Ooh, this looks like something Gary would sport, actually
29:4980s-era jean jacket, $30
29:52Ooh, that's a $10 raincoat
29:55Look at that
29:57A little airplane stained glass
29:59That's a $40 thing
30:02Okay, we got a Humminbird stained glass
30:05Let me say that's a $30 piece
30:07You know, these are great
30:08You know, you can't have too many of these wet-dry backs
30:10$15
30:11Why do they make things so hard to get into these days?
30:14Ooh, that's a big ol' level
30:17You put it up against something
30:20To make sure it's on straight
30:22You gotta look at the juice in the tubes
30:24What you're gonna want is a nice little bubble
30:28That's a $20 item
30:32Yeah, boring old tools
30:34Oh, we got twins
30:38More tools
30:3920 bucks for the pair
30:41We got some portable lights
30:44For your construction zone
30:46Or your OnlyFans, whatever
30:4820 bucks
30:49Bait box
30:50Ooh, a lot of hooks
30:51If I just sell this whole lot together with the box
30:5450 bucks
30:55We got an old receiver
30:57I know this is a good brand
30:5950 bucks
31:01Oh, it's in good shape
31:02Clean it up with its lovely patina
31:05And I would sell this for 45 bucks
31:07What else we got in here?
31:08Just a bunch of tools
31:10That staple gun's cool
31:11That's old
31:12Look at that
31:1330 bucks for those two crates
31:15We got some clothings
31:17Damn, look at that Blue Angels t-shirt
31:19That is so cool
31:20This badass vintage t-shirt
31:23Is actually 50 bucks
31:25Ooh, cool
31:26What's this?
31:27Vintage military blouse
31:29Matching vintage military pants
31:31$75
31:34Yes
31:35A box of cassettes
31:3780 bucks
31:40Okay
31:41Ooh, this looks like a neat old box
31:44Ooh
31:50Ooh
31:51This looks like a neat old box
31:54Ooh
31:55Cool old knickknacks
31:56Look at that sweet Honda belt buckle
31:58I think Gary might like that for sure
32:01Yeah, we just got an assortment of grandpa
32:03Like kind of cool funky grandpa stuff in here
32:06This is a 1943 silver dollar
32:09I'm gonna say this is a $75 box actually
32:11All said and done
32:13Here's some more old collectible coins
32:15There's a series of them
32:17So I'm gonna say these are $75
32:19Whoo, Ben
32:20Okay, what do we got here?
32:23Oh, this looks like some kind of robot piece
32:26Damn, it's got gears on it
32:28And just dropped down from outer space
32:30Neither Lisa nor Gary has any clue what this is
32:34It's heavy as hell
32:35And heck, I'd say this looks like a key component to a time machine
32:39I think I'm gonna try and find some sort of metal expert
32:42Who can give me more insight onto this strange, mysterious object
32:47These are the prospect dishes
32:50$25 bucks
32:51We got a bunch of vintage fishing poles
32:54Nine fishing poles at $10 each for the poles
32:57That'll be $90 bucks
32:58And then this is a nice deep sea reel
33:00Got another one of those over here
33:02$50 bucks each
33:03So that's another $100
33:05What's this?
33:07Feels like an empty box
33:08But let's just see
33:11Oh, huh
33:12Altitude
33:13The box
33:15Says

33:18It does have a picture of a hot air balloon on it
33:21Wait a minute
33:22Hang on
33:23I just got struck by a lightning of an idea
33:26That
33:28Might be
33:29A hot air balloon
33:30Hot maker
33:31And then this thing
33:32Tells you how far you're gonna fall
33:35You know what?
33:36I'll be honest
33:37I'm afraid of heights
33:38But I'm not afraid of high profits
33:40So
33:41I'm gonna find somebody
33:42Who knows a thing or two about a hot air balloon
33:47Guess I'm gonna start loading up
33:49Alright
33:50Here we go
33:51Come on, Gary
33:52Sweating balls out here
33:54Kadyana and I are having a beach day
34:02Watch out for the rocks
34:03It's okay
34:04I got the rocks
34:05I think
34:06Watch out for the rocks
34:07I got it
34:08I got it
34:09I got it
34:10We're meeting the owner of Laguna Ethos
34:11Justin Berenson
34:12We are hoping that this kayak turns our beach day
34:15Into a payday
34:16Justin
34:17Hey, Renee
34:18What's happening?
34:19What's up, guys?
34:20I got a kayak
34:21Good job, right here
34:22Perfect
34:23Hey
34:24Nice, hey
34:25Renee
34:26Justin
34:27Tatiana
34:28Nice to meet you
34:29Nice, I haven't seen one of these in a while
34:30Is that good or bad?
34:31No, this is a great kayak
34:32A lot of people want this
34:33Mostly because it's one of the only folding kayaks
34:36That you can get that's actually high quality
34:38It's super portable
34:39You can bring it anywhere
34:40You don't have to carry an 80-pound kayak
34:42These are great
34:43You trust a folding kayak?
34:44Oh, yeah
34:45The Oru kayaks are sturdy
34:46Really?
34:47Yeah
34:48It seems like it's made of the same stuff I put my taxes in
34:51No, a little more sturdy than that
34:53Really?
34:54Yeah
34:55The first thing you want to do is pull up this
34:59There we go
35:00We got it
35:01How many people can this hold up to, do you think?
35:03One
35:04One? Oh my goodness
35:05How big of a people?
35:06The weight limit's about 280 pounds
35:08Good
35:09I don't got to go
35:10Alright, I think I have this side pretty well
35:11You guys are doing a good job
35:13Hey, thanks Renee
35:14Thank you
35:15You're welcome
35:16Appreciate the feedback
35:17Honestly, it kind of looks like a origami
35:19It really does
35:20So is that supposed to be the seat there or?
35:23So this is actually the floorboard
35:25It's going to give the kayak a lot more stability
35:27Once it's all tightened up
35:29But your seat
35:30Is this little guy
35:31Which will go
35:32Right here
35:33And right here
35:34Don't worry
35:35It's going to make sense
35:36Once it's all put together
35:37Famous last words
35:38Renee, you really don't have enough faith, man
35:40No, I'm just like a realist
35:42The important question is
35:43How are we looking on shark attacks here?
35:44Rule of thumb with sharks is
35:46If you put your finger in the water
35:47And it tastes salty
35:48They're sharks
35:50How many have you encountered?
35:51Not that many
35:52How many is not that many?
35:53Maybe ten
35:54Ten
35:55Okay, well I'm at zero
35:56So that's a lot
35:57Alright, so we're going to fold this rail down
36:00Okay
36:01It's going to lock into these little grooves
36:03Which help keep everything locked into place nice and secure
36:06Ta-da
36:07There's all these little straps
36:08It's so perfectly put together
36:10I love this thing
36:11So how does it look condition-wise?
36:13There's a couple minor scuffs
36:15But structurally it looks great
36:17All the seals are intact
36:19But there's only one way to truly find out
36:21Which is giving it a little test
36:23What do you say we take it for a spin?
36:25Alright, do your thing girl
36:26Alright
36:27Alright
36:28Before we head out
36:30We're dealing with mother nature here
36:32So we're going to take her seriously
36:34We're going to go down to the water's edge
36:35Here we go
36:36Here we go
36:37Teamwork
36:38Bye
36:39Next time can't we just go to like a kayak store or something?
36:42It just got real
36:43I don't see any leaks here
36:45That looks good
36:46Oh my goodness
36:53Shark!
36:54Woo!
36:55Yeah!
36:56Beautiful ocean
36:57Looks like it's working
36:58Looking good, looking good
36:59Eye calls in the ocean!
37:00Woo!
37:01Woo!
37:02No leaks!
37:03Take me home, Elton
37:04Take me home
37:05She's just going to make it back
37:06Good
37:07Good for business
37:08Woo!
37:09This thing looks good
37:10It looks good
37:11It looks good
37:12It looks good
37:13Good for business
37:14Woo!
37:15This thing works great
37:16Nice work
37:17Woo!
37:18Okay
37:19This is exhausting work
37:20How was it?
37:21That was awesome
37:22You did so good
37:23Thank you
37:24You made it look easy
37:25I loved it
37:26It didn't sink
37:27It didn't break
37:28Any sharks?
37:29Yeah
37:30It was awesome
37:31You did so good
37:32Thank you
37:33You made it look easy
37:34I loved it
37:35It didn't sink
37:36It didn't break
37:37Any sharks?
37:38No sharks
37:39I survived
37:40There you go
37:41It's a seaworthy kayak
37:42How much is it worth?
37:43Great condition
37:44Super seaworthy
37:45I'm actually surprised
37:46How well it did out there
37:47So
37:48Easily $1,200
37:49Hey, hey, hey
37:50Boom!
37:51Alright, let's fold it up
37:52Now's your time to shine
37:53You're going to unfold it, right?
37:54How hard could it be?
37:55You got this
37:56Hey, hey, hey
37:57Boom!
37:58All right, let's fold it up
37:59Now's your time to shine
38:00You're going to unfold it, right?
38:01Yeah, how hard could it be?
38:02You got this
38:03Hey, hey, hey
38:04Boom!
38:05All right, let's fold it up
38:06How hard could it be?
38:07You got this
38:08Clip
38:09Clip
38:10Clip
38:11Clip
38:12Clip
38:13Clip
38:14Clip
38:15Hold on
38:16Did that guy just run away with my daughter?
38:19Woo!
38:20Yeah!
38:28I tracked down a badass hot air balloon pilot
38:31Cheryl Reichert
38:32I want to find out what this thing is worth
38:34And honestly, what it is
38:36Because I'm really tired of calling it a hot maker
38:38Hello?
38:39Oh, hi!
38:40Hi, are you Cheryl?
38:41I am
38:42Nice to meet you, I'm Lisa
38:43Nice to meet you, Lisa
38:44I got some stuff
38:45What do you have there?
38:46Well, that's what I'm hoping you can tell me
38:47I don't know what the heck this is
38:48Um, this is actually a hot air balloon burner
38:50Do you know much about hot air balloons?
38:51I know absolutely nothing?
38:53I mean, I know that there's baskets involved?
38:54So it is the oldest form of flight
38:55And they used to build wood piles and shoot heat up into a paper bag basically
39:09Well, now we have fabric and we have burners
39:12And this is the part that you connect to the propane tank
39:15It has a valve that opens and lets the propane in
39:20Oh
39:21And there's a pilot light like your furnace
39:23And the propane shoots up into the envelope
39:25And that's how we heat the air to give the balloon lift
39:28So this is a burner
39:29Except you happen to have a really old burner here
39:31Nothing wrong with that, right?
39:32The good news is that's a cool burner and it's clean
39:35The bad news is it goes to a very old system
39:39Okay
39:40This one is an Aerostar
39:41And it goes to a basket that is no longer made
39:44These burners are no longer made
39:46So that can be good when someone is hunting for it and doesn't have one
39:50Okay
39:51But it can be bad when you can buy parts for it
39:54So anyone with this burner, if it fails
39:56They're probably going to be able to find the parts and fix their own
39:59I see, okay
40:00I'm just taking in what I'm seeing here
40:03These baskets look really old-timey
40:05So here's one of your older Aerostar baskets
40:07Oh, look at this beauty
40:08This one was made back in the 50s
40:10This stuff lasts a really long time
40:11Yeah
40:12The 80s for this one
40:13And here's a system that was built in this century
40:15You can see the designs are still basically the same
40:18They use wicker because it's such a light material
40:20And you need something super light and super strong
40:22So you have a wicker basket
40:24You put a propane torch in the middle of it
40:26Light it up
40:27What could possibly go wrong?
40:28What could possibly go wrong?
40:29Okay, moving on
40:31There's more
40:32Oh, you've got an old ball instrument
40:35This is the cable that runs up into the envelope of the balloon
40:40And you can use this instrument to read the temperature
40:42Oh, wow
40:43That's fancy
40:44It is working, which is pretty awesome
40:47It reads altitude fabulously
40:49It is also pretty old
40:51That's all right
40:52It's been replaced by new tech, which is digital
40:54Oh
40:55Okay, Cheryl
40:56Is this all hot air?
40:57Or are you going to elevate my profits?
41:00Yes
41:01Well, I'll tell you what
41:02For the right buyer
41:03You find the right guy
41:04That's looking for this particular instrument
41:06The journeyman
41:07Um
41:10So, combination, 300
41:12Great
41:13That totally floats my basket, Cheryl
41:15Glad to hear it
41:16Congratulations
41:17My happiness is your happiness
41:20Thank you, Cheryl
41:21And I'm almost convinced that I would be open to getting into a hot air balloon basket
41:26Excellent
41:27Renane is actually no
41:31Tatiana Nazzotta paddled off with $1,700
41:36Dusty Richo-rama turned his pens into 1,600 Benjamins
41:42Lisa slash Gary Delarios went from burner to earner banking $600
41:49While Kenny Crosley couldn't rally in Mo Valley
41:54Most ballooning is done in very calm conditions
41:58But I have seen hot air balloon baskets with fiberglass in the bottom
42:02Oh
42:03So that you can look out the bottom
42:04It's terrifying to me
42:05Who wants to do that?
42:06Sweet
42:07Terrifying to you, but you're a pilot
42:08I am
42:09Are you afraid of heights?
42:10I am
42:11Actually, no
42:12Fear of falling
42:13So when I go to the edge of things
42:14What's interesting
42:15I have no problem getting up in a hot air balloon
42:17I've always considered myself afraid of heights
42:19But maybe I'm just afraid of falling
42:21Well, I would love to take you flying
42:23Feel the burn
42:28Lisa, I told you I'd get you up here
42:31Oh my god, you know what?
42:32This really isn't so bad, Cheryl
42:34I think I've overcome my fear
42:36Cheryl, this is great
42:41Thank you for everything
42:43Oh wow, look, I think I can see my car
42:46There's the soup
42:47There's the soup
