00:00You know, I know you're such a big fan of course architecture and just the overall strategy in the game.
00:05And if you don't have those 40 mile an hour winds, you don't have the firm fairways or some roughs,
00:11something to challenge the top players in the world.
00:14St. Andrews isn't the same test that it was in past, you know, decades of playing out there.
00:22No, it's not, you know, and, you know, I don't I'm not going to despair of St. Andrews.
00:27It's it's the most historic and most beautiful.
00:30And you feel you feel like you're doing something extraordinary anytime you play there.
00:34And it's charming beyond compare.
00:37But if you if you just stumbled upon any golf course with the holes, let's say one, six, nine, 10, 12,
00:47I can't decide if it's the worst hole I've ever played in my life or it's one of the better holes I've ever played in my life.
00:53I just cannot decide.
00:54But if you anyway, nonetheless, if you stumbled upon one, six, nine, 10, 12 and 18 on any other golf course,
01:04you would go, what are these holes?
01:06There are 350 yards of grass.
01:09Now, there are some extraordinary holes in between those.
01:13But the charm of going out, I liken the first hole at St. Andrews to your mother just patting you on the butt
01:19as you're going off to school as a seven year old, you know, and 18, your mom just wrapping her arms around you coming off the bus.
01:27You know, they're just such sweet out and in holes.
01:31And, you know, we had the local caddies that I've had.
01:36I've had this this this same caddy caddy for me in the 95 open.
01:40And he caddied for me in the 2018 senior open there.
01:44He's caddied for me every single time I've gone to St. Andrews.
01:48So I had him and he's an old friend and a great guy.
01:51And for the first time ever, I played with a rural and ancient member, a woman by the name of Elaine Radcliffe.
01:57And then, which, by the way, was a bizarre dynamic.
02:02And her ex-husband played in our group.
02:05And they're like best friends.
02:06They were married, got divorced, and now they're friends.
