00:00Hey what's up guys, Jose here at ShreddedDad.com and in today's video I'm reviewing the Tidbar
00:03Guys Nordic Pro Bench. Now whether you're following the Knees Over Toes program or you
00:07just want to get stronger at Nordic Curls, this is a good bench to have because it allows you
00:11to train Nordic Curls through full range of motion and it also allows you to go through
00:15different regressions so that you can start at a manageable level and then slowly progress as
00:21your hamstrings get stronger. So it allows you to go through the whole progress in a safe way.
00:25Now if I turn this over to the side, you can see that right now if I were to set this on
00:29the floor, this would be a flat Nordic bench which will be a very difficult exercise to do
00:34especially for beginners. So the whole idea behind this bench is that it has adjustable arms so you
00:39can change the angle of the incline making it easier for your hamstrings and for beginners to start
00:45going through their Nordic Curl training. So I'm going to show you how that works. I'm going to pull
00:49a knob here and then I'm going to flip the arm and I'm going to set it to the first regression which is
00:54about 25 degrees. Same on the other side. I move the arm all the way to about 25 degrees regression
01:00and now if I set it down the bench is going to be at an incline making it easier on my hamstrings to
01:06start my Nordic Curl training. So think about when you started doing push-ups. You probably started
01:10doing them on a wall or against the countertop at an angle making it easier and then as you got
01:16stronger you went to a flat push-up. So this is a similar concept. As I get stronger my hamstring curls
01:22or the Nordic Curls I can change the angle of the legs here in eight different regressions and it goes
01:28up, up, up, up all the way until I get to a flat Nordic Curl. Now I'm going to show you the adjustable
01:33arm mechanism. Now keep in mind that it's easier to have the bench in the upright position so that the
01:37arms are not weight-bearing when you change the angles. So if I look at it from the outside of the
01:41bench you can see there's a knob here. I pull that knob and that's going to release a pin from the
01:46inside of the bench. Now I'm going to show you what it looks like from the inside here. So from the
01:50inside here the knob is out here the pin is here and you can see right now I have it at position
01:54number eight which is 25 degrees and that's going to have the arm in a vertical position so that the
02:00bench is at the highest incline making it easier for beginners to start. As you get stronger you can
02:06move that pin to seven, six, five, four, three, two, one and of course one would be zero degree incline and
02:13that's a flat Nordic. And that's the whole mechanism behind this. It's very simple but it's going to allow
02:18for progressive overload on your hamstring so that you don't get hurt trying to do a flat Nordic from
02:23the beginning. Now as far as the padding goes, the padding is very spacious and very comfortable.
02:26It's 22 inches wide by 25 inches in length so it's going to be good for most people. Now two and a half
02:33inches in thickness is very comfortable whether you're doing a 25 degree regression or you're
02:37completely flat. It feels really good on my knees. I have no complaints there. And then the upholstery
02:42is on there tightly so it feels very good. It's very nice. Now moving down to the leg rollers here.
02:47The leg rollers are molded foam which is very very good foam. It's not cheap foam. Then you have a pin
02:52here that you can move. You can unscrew and then pop it and move it to six different settings. So again
02:58it'll fit many sized people. Now when we come over here to the footplate it's all metal diamond plated and
03:04then on the bottom here you have four different rubber pieces that are going to help you to stand
03:09this up vertically. There's also a foldable handle here that folds down whenever you sit it vertically
03:14but whenever you need to lift it up to move it around you simply pull the handle up
03:18and then you have wheels on this side here that are going to help you move it around. So now let's talk about
03:23the pros and cons. Con number one for me is that this starts at 25 degrees of regression or incline
03:27which is still going to be tough for a lot of beginners. I would have liked to seen this at maybe 45 degrees
03:32just like the tip bar guys nor the back extension machine. But I do understand that they're trying to make
03:36this as compact as possible so that that would have probably added more size to the machine. But
03:4125 degrees is still challenging for beginners. Now con number two is going to be that in order for me
03:46to change the angle on the arms I have to stand the machine up every single time. Not a big deal on just
03:51being nitpicky there but I can do that in between sets. Now the biggest pro for me is that this has
03:56eight regressions and I say that because I've gotten injured before when attempting to do flat Nordics
04:00without being prepared for them. So this is a safer way to do it where you progressively build
04:06your hamstrings until you can get a flat Nordic curl. Pro number two is that this is a very compact
04:10machine so it's not going to take up a lot of space when you're using it and then when you're done you
04:14can simply store it vertically and move it out of the way. So it's not going to take up a lot of your
04:18home gym space. Pro number three is that everything feels comfortable throughout the exercises. The knee
04:23padding is comfortable as I'm doing the Nordic curl. I don't have any knee pain any knee problems and then the leg
04:27rollers are very comfortable on the back of my legs. Pro number four is that there's no counterbalance
04:32required. Even though the tip bar guy does provide a weight horn to be attached to the back of the
04:38foot plate here this is not required because I can set the arms to be forward at zero degrees and that's
04:43going to prevent any tipping over. So that's my review on the tip bar guy's Nordic Pro Bench. I think
04:47it's a very good bench that's not going to take up a lot of space in a home gym. It's commercial grade
04:51quality very comfortable and then you have the eight regressions that are going to allow your
04:55hamstrings to build that strength to go from an angle all the way up to a flat Nordic in a progressive
05:01and safe way. If you want to learn more about it I'll leave a link below this video. That link is
