As part of the supplementary budget allocations some 13-point nine million dollars have been allocated to the Ministry of National Security shortfalls according to Minister of Finance Dave Tancoo in Parliament on Wednesday.

00:22The finance minister accused the former PNM government of critically under-budgeting for critical services as he pointed out that a state of emergency would have been one of those areas affected by the budgeting.
00:34During the state of emergency, some $3.7 million was spent on feeding some 178 detainees as revealed by Minister of Defence Wayne Sage during a parliamentary standing finance committee held on Monday last.
00:46The defense minister had also indicated during this committee's hearing on Monday that some of the allocated money would have been for meals provided to the members of the Guard and Emergency Branch and officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force.
00:59Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander also indicated during that hearing that some of the allocated money would be used to purchase some 3,000 body cameras for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
01:10The finance minister also indicated then that some $10 million had already been allocated to the TTPS fleet and they were seeking an additional $10 million.
