00:00All right, hi people, it's Shakes here. I'm here to do an unboxing for us today of Doctor Who
00:06Sylvester McCoy season 2, aka, I believe, season 25, because this is the season before 26 where
00:14the series got cancelled initially. Yeah, and this is the last of the Sylvester McCoy sets,
00:23so I will also be doing a video that redoes the unboxings for all of these after this,
00:30just so they're all in one video. But yeah, and this technically came out before the last one I did,
00:36if you're watching these in the upload order, the first season for John Pertwee, aka season 7,
00:45for classic, but I did not have the money to get it when it came out, so I waited until I did.
00:52But, so, yeah, but here we go. So, yeah, so there we go. The front here, you got a nice
01:00painting picture of Sylvester McCoy. The space in the background looks really cool with all the
01:06asteroids and everything. You got some of the bad guys from the season there. Sylvester McCoy
01:12completes season 2, a disc set, Blu-ray, and all that. Then, the spine right here, and in the back,
01:20we have the serials that are in here. Reminds of the Daleks, Happiness Patrol, Silver Nemesis,
01:29and The Greatest Show on the Galaxy, and there's 14 episodes. Newly restored for Blu-ray,
01:33and packed with extra material, including, you got all this. So, yeah, and they do have the extra
01:41special features from the DVDs ported over to this, as with all of them. So, yeah. Starring
01:48Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred. So, yeah. Main feature of 16x9 and Amorphic, that's a misnomer.
01:55It is, all the episodes are 4x3. Most of the special features, I believe, are in 16x9, if not all of
02:01them. But, yeah, the episodes themselves are in 4x3, unless if they've been cropped to 16x9,
02:07if they have, like, a movie edit or something. But, yeah. They'll be digital 5.1, 625 minutes
02:13approximately. Region 1, maybe region A. I don't know why they keep getting that wrong.
02:18Color and Black and White. NTSC, sometimes in English. NTSC, kinda. These sets still use the
02:27British Masters, where they're still in 25 FPS and everything. And I think that that's fine.
02:36Um, they even port over these subtitles that use, like, without, like, accounting for, like,
02:41British vs. American spellings of words and all that. So, yeah. Which is whatever.
02:48Special features might have been a handout for NTSC. Subtitles may vary. Realistically,
02:52I'm fine with the subtitles having the British spellings of words that do have them. Um,
02:57it's just a bit weird to have those, like, not, like, changed for these. But, whatever. They use the,
03:04uh, file, the text files that they have for those on the British release. So, it's whatever.
03:10So, um, we have the disc. Disc 1, Remembrance of the Daleks. Disc 2, Remembrance of the Daleks,
03:16bonus disc. Disc 3, The Happiness Patrol. Disc 4, Happiness Patrol, bonus disc. Disc 5,
03:22Silver Nemesis. Disc 6, Silver Nemesis, bonus disc. Disc 7, The Greatest Show on the Galaxy. And Disc A,
03:28The Greatest Show on the Galaxy, bonus disc. So, basically, they did not have a ton of, like,
03:34uh, content from the show itself. So, they pretty much just stacked as many bonus features as they
03:39could onto these releases and did extra discs for each of the stories. So, yeah. I don't have
03:48anything against it. It's just, I guess they figured they couldn't do, like, smaller sets,
03:54um, at this point. But, granted, um, John Pertwee's fourth season and Tom Baker's first
04:03and, uh, Colin Baker's second seasons are all, like, in smaller, uh, disc cases and they only have
04:11six discs. So, or so. So, yeah. But, yeah. So, all caught up on my Doctor Who stuff. I wonder what
04:18season they'll do next. After this, we have, um, two more seasons of Tom Baker, one more season of
04:25John Pertwee, and one more Peter Davison season. So, I wonder what's gonna be next. They probably
04:30already announced it in the UK. And we get these typically, like, what, two to four months after
04:35in the US? Depending. But, yeah. So, yeah. Not much else to say. So, link's description on my
04:42show subscription. And I'll see you guys in the next one.
