00:00All right, hi people, it's Jason here to do an unboxing for you today of the Kamen Rider Dyad

00:07or Legacy Elite. Yeah, Kamen Rider Dyad Legacy Elite Edition. So this is basically a re-release

00:16for, well, partial re-release for media blasters of Kamen Rider the First and Kamen Rider the

00:22Next on Blu-ray. They originally released Kamen Rider the First about like a little over 20 years

00:29ago or a little bit less than 20 years ago after it came out in Japan because I think Kamen Rider

00:34the First came out in 2007 when they released it over here. Back then they released it as

00:40Masked Rider the First and even on the top here it still says Masked Rider. I'm assuming that's the

00:45official logo for the movie and they re-release, I don't know if they lost the license and then had

00:52to re-up it, but they got it and they got the Blu-ray Masters for the movie with its sequel,

01:00Kamen Rider the Next, which, yeah, these are a pair of reboot movies for the original Kamen Rider

01:07series made in the 2000s and they adhere closer to the manga, I believe, and have a bit more of the

01:15Shotaro Shomori-like type, uh, inspiration and everything in them. Um, so yeah, and you may

01:25remember as well that I did an unboxing, I think it was last year, for Kamen Rider, or the Kamen Rider

01:30trilogy, the Elite Collection. Um, so yeah, and unlike this, uh, it does not have, as far as I can tell,

01:39there's no errors on the discs in terms of audio sync being slightly, uh, delayed, so yeah, because

01:46obviously they would just take what I gave them for the video files and just subtitle them and

01:52everything and put them on disc. Now, this also, uh, took a bit to come out, uh, kind of like the

02:00Kamen Rider trilogy did, where it was up for pre-order earlier this year and on Media Blaster's website,

02:09and they were working on, uh, not only subtitles, but also some extras for this as well. So yeah,

02:16I'm not sure entirely what the extras are. It'll probably say it on the back of the, uh, the Blu-ray

02:20case, but yeah. So they were working on that and they have all the same kind of extras as, uh, the

02:28Elite Collection did, where, um, I think it's like maybe some stuff from the Japanese Blu-rays, but then

02:34also I think, I'm assuming, uh, like a back, like a behind-the-scenes or, uh, director or whatever

02:42interview and everything, plus a booklet on the inside. So yeah. So here we go with Kamen Rider

02:49the First, aka Masked Rider the First. It's basically just, I believe, the original theatrical

02:53poster put on this. Uh, it looks pretty good. You have the, pretty much what is the Japanese

02:58logo, plus Masked Rider on the top, although I'm assuming, like I, like I said a second ago,

03:04that that is just embedded in the logo or part of the logo. You have, uh, Kamen Rider Ichigo on the

03:10front, him on his motorcycle right there, and that's a city backdrop. And yeah, that's very, like,

03:16late 90s to early to mid 2000s right there. These are also very, like, tonally darker movies,

03:23but then also I think they look also darker, like they're tinged darker, because they were supposed

03:28to go from that more, like, mature, edgy kind of aesthetic that was a thing back in the 80s and

03:332000s, or 90s, 90s and 2000s, um, from the clips I've seen of the movies. So yeah. Um, and also the,

03:41uh, the suits are more, uh, I think armor-oriented, basically, with their designs. So yeah.

03:48So we have the bottom Kamen Rider Dyad Legacy Elite Edition, same stuff on the top, and the

03:56spine right here, Kamen Rider Dyad Elite Collect, or, Legacy Elite Edition, Media Blasters,

04:03MBVD 2512. And then on the back, I don't know why they printed it upside down exactly, but they also

04:11have, uh, the poster for Kamen Rider The Next, and it is the extended version, which I didn't know existed,

04:16but that's kind of cool. So you have Kamen Rider Ichigo and Nigo here, and then you have Kamen Rider

04:21V3 here, because, well, um, 13 episodes into the original Kamen Rider series, uh, Kamen Rider Ichigo,

04:30he dies, because, well, they had to replace the actor, because he got hurt doing some of the stunts.

04:36So, instead of just, I guess, putting the show on hold, and, or on pause, or on hiatus, while he

04:43recovers, they replaced him, but then they brought him back in, like, or, like, 40-some episodes later,

04:49and then, um, had both the characters there. Then, uh, after that series ended, after episode 98,

04:58they did a new series, Kamen Rider V3, although that was also supposed to be a new hero being

05:04introduced into the original series, and they chose to spin it off into its own thing, and include

05:08Ichigo and Nigo at a few points, but, yeah, um, because, uh, shared universe and all that.

05:15But, yeah, and as you can see, the, the suits are more readily apparent on here to be more, like,

05:21quote-unquote modern, like, 2000s modern, and sort of, like, more grittier and realistic. So,

05:27yeah, I have never seen either of these movies, so it'll be interesting looking at them.

05:34Um, so here we go with the, uh, front here, and as you can see, it's basically just a Photoshop

05:40version of the, uh, things of the two posters. So you have, uh, Kamen Rider Ichigo from this poster,

05:47uh, with the shot of Nigo from, or not Nigo, um, uh, V3 from the second movie poster on here.

05:59Uh, Kamen Rider Dyad, Lazy Elite Collection, or Edition, Kamen Rider the First and Kamen Rider the

06:05Next, and you got the spine right here, and the back, you got a thing. This new take on the original

06:14Kamen Rider had recaptured the primary elements that Ishinomori sought following the birth of the

06:19series that started it, that started it all. Within this zoology of films exists the story of a man,

06:27uh, stripped of his mortality, freedom, and humanity to become a pawn of evil from Andres Perez.

06:34I'm assuming that's from 2005. So first, you got a thing for Kamen Rider the First,

06:40a description of that, and that is 90 minutes. Uh, North American premiere of Kamen Rider the Next,

06:47the extended version. So yeah, from 2007, and a description of that, that is 104 minutes.

06:54Extras, liner notes booklet by Andres Perez, uh, or, you know, so maybe that's just a thing from that.

07:05Then, uh, you got Disc 1, which has Kamen Rider the First, Disc 2 has Kamen Rider the Next.

07:11I'm pretty sure. So it says, Kamen Rider World, writer, and an evening with Toshiki, uh, Inoue.

07:25Writer Power, the action of Makoto Yokoyama, making of the first Kamen Rider the First production

07:32presentation, Tokyo International Film Festival, theatrical trailer, TV spots, and audio commentary

07:38by Josh, uh, Saucido. That's funny. That's, uh, Mars Girl's husband, I believe, and Matt Burkett.

07:46So, yeah, I'm assuming that pretty much all those, if not most of them, or probably just most of them,

07:52are from the Japanese releases, um, of the movie, and then maybe some are made for this release.

07:58But, yeah. Uh, making of, for Disc 2, making of the next, Kamen Rider the Next, CG, uh, Platinum Smile

08:07music video, press conference, audio commentary by Andres Perez and Matt Burkett. So, yeah, and then you

08:14have a bunch of, uh, legal information. Blu-ray Disc, approximately 194 minutes, color, region A, two discs.

08:22Kamen Rider the First is in 1.78x1, 16x9. Kamen Rider the Next, 1.78x1, 16x9. Audio Japanese, 5.1 surround,

08:31and 2.0 PCM linear. Subtitle track in English, and this is not rated. So, yeah, I'm assuming that

08:39these would either be a PG-13 or maybe an R over here if they were to be rated. So, yeah. So, inside here,

08:45you have the two discs for Kamen Rider the First and Kamen Rider the Next. I do like how the discs

08:52are, like, separated versions of these. But, uh, but yeah, and they both fit with the aesthetics of

08:57them from the, um, the posters on the slipcover. So, yeah. So, here we go with the booklet,

09:05Kamen Rider Dyad, The Birth, or Rebirth of the First, and Analysis of the Enduring Themes of Kamen Rider

09:12by Andres Perez. So, okay, basically just a story booklet and everything with some behind-the-scenes

09:21photos and maybe screenshots of some of the movies, or some screenshots from the movies,

09:28which is actually pretty cool. That is really funny to see, like, a high, like, quality, like,

09:33movie quality, like, very dark, um, or darker, more mature, whatever, grittier, I guess that

09:43may be the word, take on a fucking Leopard Man suit. So, yeah, you have Ichigo Inigo, which is

09:51actually pretty cool. Uh, you get a good shot of the, uh, the suits as well. You can see, like, the,

09:56the leather pleather, um, undersuits underneath, like, the armor bits and the belts. And they do

10:02look really good as redesigns of the original suits. So, yeah. Nice shot of Ichigo Inigo in V3.

10:15So, yeah. And a cool thing is, uh, the, the visors on their helmets light up. Um,

10:23um, and that was a feature on the original Kamen Rider helmets that I don't know how many Kamen

10:29Riders since have followed through on with the bug eyes and everything.

10:36So, yeah. In the back. Ah, I see. That's cool. So, it's a, it's a picture of Ichigo Inigo on their,

10:42um, their motorcycles and everything. Behind-the-scenes photo, I'm assuming. So, yeah. So,

10:51this is actually really nice. Um, it's very similar to, uh, the Kamen Rider Trilogy

11:02Elite Collection. So, just to show that off really quickly, uh, if you haven't seen my video on this,

11:06go check that out. It's gonna be more, it would be more in depth. So, you have a slipcover,

11:11and you have the Blu-ray case, and then you open it up, you have a booklet. So, I would say, yeah,

11:16the one for the first and the next is definitely thicker than this one. But, yeah. And very

11:26interesting, however, that, like, you have three movies, which, granted, it's, I guess it's not

11:34really too much. And, uh, the extras on one disc for this release instead of two. Um, I'm just

11:43assuming, though, maybe that's for mainly the, uh, the, uh, what do you call it? Um,

11:49the extras and everything being on there. So, yeah. I didn't say what number this was. 334.

11:55So, yeah. I think there was a, I think there's like a, there's like a, a maximum or, well,

12:02like a thousand or two thousand or something like that on this. Whereas this was 342. So,

12:08it's interesting. I was one of the first people to get this, so I didn't have to wait until they

12:14sent out the replacement discs to get this. Um, but yeah. But, uh, but that's pretty much it for

12:21the Kamen Rider Dyad Elite Collection, or Legacy Elite Edition. Um, for Kamen Rider the First and

12:28Kamen Rider the Next. I was definitely waiting for these since the pre-, since they announced

12:32them last year. And the pre-orders went up earlier this year. So, yeah. I think it took a little longer

12:38than I think it probably should have. Because, like, I heard that this was apparently supposed

12:42to come out in October, but then it didn't. And now we're in December. So, yeah. Hooray! Things that

12:48don't, or that will age this video like milk. Anyways. So, yeah. So, guys, uh, not really
