00:00Another vicious school fight, this time just outside the gate of Holy Faith Convent in Coover.
00:07A video gone viral shows a 15-year-old Form 4 student pulled from the gate of her school
00:12and beaten to the ground, stomped on by a throng of teenage girls dressed in shorts and a t-shirt.
00:19It is reported the attackers attend the Coover West Secondary School but remove their uniforms
00:24before carrying out the planned attack so as not to be identified. The attack was only stopped
00:29when an adult intervened and two classmates picked up the shocked and injured 15-year-old from the
00:36ground. The victim was waiting at the school's front gate for her mother to retrieve her. It is
00:42suggested she was not even the intended target of the attack. Speaking with the Express's Alexander
00:47Bruiswal, the girl's mother said her daughter was not a troublemaker and had no prior disputes with
00:54the attackers. The victim, she said, was an intense pain from what she termed the full assault.
01:01The student was medically assessed at the Coover Health Facility and was expected to be transferred
01:06to the San Fernando General Hospital for further treatment including x-rays and an ultrasound.
01:12The mother said doctors placed the child's neck in a brace and administered antibiotics and sedatives.
01:17A similar attack last week at the South East Port of Spain Secondary School caused Prime Minister
01:23Kamala Passat-Bissessa to order students carrying out such violent attacks to be expelled and
01:29investigated for criminal charges. One of the emboldened students in the Coover attack, who calls
01:35herself Six Girl, a name seeking to imitate the Port of Spain-based Six Gang, purposely released a voice
01:43note. She used expletives challenging her victim and deflecting from attacking an innocent student.
01:49Six girl beat one girl. The whole team was by the flicking gas station, came Greece,
01:56they crossed the flicking road when we went into them, the one in the school. They're still talking
02:00Greece because they know we can't come in the school compound. When we looked up, pulled one in the
02:03front of them, she ended up getting away and pushed. She pushed the flicking red girl. That's how we
02:08ended up getting to beat up the red girl. Don't feel like some kind of advantageous thing. All the time, she
02:12talking, greets, greets, greets, canna, but I'll come down, she's hoodie on, she's flicking head.
02:16And watching people by the hand talking, talk for Chloe. Chloe feel it, but she was going to say,
02:20hey, sorry, yeah. Remember, we f***ing broken and we's a pipe, ah. We bust your uniform. Come for your f***ing
02:27money to buy it back now. By 7 p.m. yesterday, Education Minister Dr. Michael Dowlat issued a statement
02:33saying he called for a comprehensive investigation condemning the violent attack. Dr. Dowlat said he's
02:39collaborating with the school's administration and other authorities to ensure a thorough review
02:45is conducted and appropriate measures taken. Rishi Tawari, Rupin Rai, TV6 News.
