Fae admits that she has struggled with accepting her heritage, so this is a BIG challenge for her. Fae told Transformed: "My mom doesn't like to see me struggling with accepting who I am. I always felt like I didn't belong with this group because of all the prejudice that I faced growing up." Despite not being confident about this transformation, Fae wants to embrace her culture and so today with the help of makeup artist Gracie and a special hand from her mom, Fae is finally leaving her 'Cybergoth' look behind! 01:29I'm so nervous about this transformation and I'm going to need my mom's help to pull this off.

01:40So I've decided that I'm going to leave behind the cyber-goth today and I want to embrace our Vietnamese culture.

01:48That is so amazing.

01:52And I have something that I think is so perfect for you to wear.

01:57So today we are going to be doing more of a soft and natural look for her.

02:03It's very subtle, you can barely tell if there's any makeup.

02:06More of the pinks and browns instead of using colors, no shimmers, nothing too bold.

02:12Alright girl, if you can start taking everything off and then I'll help you remove all your makeup.

02:18I'm very apprehensive about taking out my piercings.

02:21I feel like they are my one thing that I can't step out of the house without.

02:26I'm going to use some tools for this.

02:31This is an Embry Elise moisturizer.

02:33It's actually a multi-function.

02:35I've removed the makeup because it has a moisturizer as a primer.

02:39When did you start wearing your type of look?

02:42For the cyber-goth specifically, I started back in the like maybe 2021 or 2022.

02:51But I've always been like goth.

02:54It was as young as 12 that I started dressing this way.

02:57Going to school and just blacked out eyeliner.

03:01I looked a little bit crazy but I would say that kind of kick-started me into this unconventional style.

03:08I'm going into the primer right now which is Estee Lauder.

03:11And then I'll spray to finish up the skin prep.

03:14Do you get judged by the way that you look?

03:16I definitely get judged a lot.

03:18People will stare and point, take pictures of me.

03:21At times, restaurants will have to seat us in a back corner so that I'm not disrupting any customers.

03:27People assuming that I'm not a nice person.

03:30For people to say that to me, it does hurt my feelings a bit.

03:33So I'm using NARS foundation and this is a very light to medium coverage.

03:40I'm just using a bit of a bronzer just around her face.

03:46I was born and raised here in Texas.

03:49My mother is from Vietnam.

03:51Growing up, I knew how to speak Vietnamese.

03:54But now I'm at a place where my ability to speak is stunted because of all the prejudice that I faced growing up.

04:00I think that my Vietnamese identity and my inability to connect with it definitely has limited my ability to express myself that way.

04:09I always felt like I didn't belong with this group even though it's in my blood.

04:14How do you think your mom and boyfriend are going to react to the look?

04:19I think they're going to be very surprised.

04:23This is going to be their first time seeing me without piercings, without the crazy hair.
