00:00With her strapped in like this, what do you think the chances are she still hit me with a Hayaku Ratskayaku?
00:05Here's your look at the Jada Toys. This is Street Fighter 2, The Final Challengers, Chung Lee.
00:25Get ready for the ultimate showdown in the world where street fighting is the main event.
00:28Dive into the world of nostalgia and action with your favorite characters from the Street Fighter 2 video game now as 112 scale action figures by Jada Toys.
00:37Known to be the strongest woman in the world, Chung Lee is ready to kick her way into action.
00:40She comes equipped with alternate hands, head, countless kick accessory, and stand.
00:45She's displayed in arcade style packaging with features inspired from the game.
00:49This legend won't go down without a fight.
00:51She may be an Interpol officer, but sad to say you're not going to find any other information of Jada Toys Street Fighter reviews here on this channel.
00:57She happens to be the first one that we're having a look at.
00:59I've been asked in the past, how come you don't look at the Jada Toys Street Fighter figures?
01:03And a lot of it really has to do with just the availability in stores.
01:06I found Chung Lee at my local store, and I've seen her a couple of times.
01:10She was selling for around $25, and that's not a bad price.
01:13But one of the main reasons and contributors to why I look at certain things on this channel over others is just the availability of finding it in stores.
01:20If, like, WWE figures, for example, or the Street Fighter figures, for that matter, I know I'm going to be behind on this line.
01:26Because, again, like, having anything, these things found in the wild, it's few and far between.
01:30I've seen a guile from time to time.
01:32I've seen one time seeing a Ken.
01:34But a lot of times, my local stores just don't have anything.
01:37And I really don't want to have to base the channel's reviews solely on what I can find online.
01:41Because, of course, that's going to contribute to the added cost of what these things are going to cost for me to pick up.
01:46So, despite that, though, we're going to be looking at Chung Lee.
01:49This, though, may eventually lead into doing more reviews of Street Fighter if you guys wanted to see them.
01:53In the meantime, though, for the figure's height, Chung Lee is going to stand at about 5 3⁄4 of an inch in height.
01:59That works out to be a figure that's 14 centimeters tall.
02:02Now, when it comes to IPs, Jaded Toys isn't just known for doing Street Fighter.
02:06In fact, one of the more recent figures that we've looked at here happens to be Chester Cheetah.
02:10We've also looked at all the General Mills monster cereal mascots.
02:13What little they've actually released, because I think they've only really done the three.
02:16Count Chocula, Frankenberry, and, of course, Boo Berry.
02:19But when you're looking, though, at the size of Chung Lee, even though you're very less likely to have these displayed all together like this,
02:24she's about the same size as Chester Cheetah.
02:26She's a little bit shorter, though, than Frankenberry.
02:29One of the things, too, that you guys have also asked, can you bring in other figure lines for comparisons?
02:33A lot of times, though, if I am kind of working with companies and showing what they have available,
02:37those companies really don't want me showing other company lines,
02:40just because, again, they kind of want to stick to the ones that they're putting out at the moment.
02:43Because I did actually pick up Chung Lee at my local store,
02:46let's just bring in an example of a DC Multiverse figure.
02:49Just, again, this happens to be the Nightfall Batman, one that I constantly bring in.
02:52But you can certainly see when it comes to her size, she goes to about the bicep of Batman.
02:58As for the accessories that come in clue with Chung Lee, she has everything that you're currently seeing right now.
03:02She has one other thing, too.
03:04Really nice box artwork.
03:05Something that, if you take this outside the box, you can actually have Chung Lee displayed along with this.
03:10I mean, she doesn't really come with technically a display stand, even though, really, like, right by my hand,
03:14you can currently see that there's one.
03:15But that doesn't really belong necessarily to her.
03:17It belongs to her multi-kick attack.
03:19But, yeah, if you wanted to, I'm sure you probably could just take yourself your Chung Lee figure,
03:23just put her inside the box.
03:25Not that, necessarily, there's enough quarters space to really have more than one fighter in here,
03:29because, obviously, they would just be standing next to one another.
03:31There's no real way they should be able to kick any person in the face with quarters this small.
03:36But, yeah, I do like the idea that they include box art like this.
03:39It might even be something that, despite throwing away the box or recycling the box,
03:42I might actually just still hold on to that box artwork.
03:45Yeah, the figure does come in clue with the display stand,
03:47but the stand itself is more designed for the multiple kick attack.
03:51The Hayatsu Retsu Kayaku?
03:54Really hard word to pronounce, and I'm sure I've already butchered it.
03:56But the multi-kick attack is designed to be displayed with this display stand here.
04:02The hole right here actually does accommodate to the post stand,
04:05which does have multiple knuckle joints.
04:08Unfortunately, though, I've noticed that the knuckles are really loose getting out of the packaging.
04:11I don't think there's a way to go in here and tighten it,
04:14because it isn't necessarily a screw.
04:15It looks like it's actually just been posted through.
04:18Maybe I could add myself a little bit of nail polish,
04:20something just to tighten up the joints.
04:22But it is really, really loose.
04:23It does plug in, so you get yourself basically two different post ends.
04:27This one is just a regular cylinder post,
04:29and then this one kind of has a mushroom cap to it.
04:31So you take this piece, and you plug it right into the base, just like that.
04:36Then you get yourself your multi-kick attack.
04:38And this is all basically just using soft rubbery plastic.
04:41One of her feats will go in.
04:43It doesn't really matter necessarily.
04:44I guess it does sort of matter, because there's a peg hole right here.
04:47This is then going to plug onto the base.
04:49Now, when you're putting this through, because it's a mushroom peg,
04:52I find it helps sort of just to hold the inside of it and twist this back and forth.
04:57Again, it's not the easiest thing to do,
04:59being, of course, it's dealing with this with softer plastic.
05:02But again, sort of just twist it back and forth until it finally gets in place.
05:07This is also something very similar, too.
05:08And, you know, as another IP that I really should have brought in, Mega Man.
05:12Yeah, we've looked at really all the Mega Man stuff that Jada has done so far.
05:15Probably should have brought that line in, too.
05:16Now, Mega Man had a very similar style of post as well, or a similar style of stand.
05:21It does have some adjustability, so you can move it back and forth.
05:23But again, like, it's very loose.
05:25And with this being heavier like this, you really kind of want to keep it as straight as you can,
05:29or if you could find a way to tighten that up, because it is very floppy.
05:33It's a bit of a floppy mess.
05:35Now, of course, if you want to take Chung Lee here and get her in that pose,
05:38you basically just extend her leg out and sort of then straighten out her foot.
05:42Luckily, the way that the hinge works, you can easily straighten out the foot like this.
05:46And then you basically just slide her foot in here.
05:50And it does a pretty good enough job.
05:51It's not necessarily that she needs herself a stand to stand on her own.
05:55Once you slot her foot in place, and again, you can either do it from the top, the bottom.
05:58I just choose to go in the middle.
06:00It holds really relatively well.
06:02I just wish, though, that the post wasn't as floppy as it is.
06:05So let's go ahead, butchering words aside, and just move that out of the way.
06:09The figure does also come in with some swappable hands.
06:11Now, right now, on the ends of her forearms, Chung Lee happens to have close punching fists.
06:16She does, however, have, though, flat hands.
06:19I did have her displayed in that in the beginning of this review.
06:21If you did want to change the hands, you just hold on.
06:24Now, the bracelet here is actually a separate piece.
06:27It's pretty on there, by the way, the first time you get the figure out of the packaging.
06:31Because I had to go in there, I was just more curious.
06:33Did this come off?
06:34I've loosened it probably to the point now where, yeah, you may want to just be careful that this doesn't slide off the forearm.
06:40Take yourself your hand and plug this in place.
06:44And that's basically all you really need to do.
06:46Now, you've got yourself her posed.
06:48Again, I had her pose displayed at the very beginning of this review, kind of with her legs straight.
06:52The way that Chung Lee normally is in her stance in the fighting game.
06:55Again, I probably will end up displaying her, though, on the shelf with her kick, her multiple kick.
06:59Because, again, I think that's so cool.
07:01I don't want to put that back in a bag somewhere.
07:03One thing I do want to kind of say, too, before we talk a little bit about the alternate head sculpt,
07:07is that the plastic, and this isn't just the Street Fighter, this is the other IPs that I've looked at for them.
07:12The plastic is probably one of my favorite plastics.
07:15Something about the way the Jada Toys, the plastic that they end up using, is very user-friendly.
07:20Does that make any sense?
07:21It probably doesn't.
07:22But even, like, changing out the pegs, the hands themselves, the arms themselves,
07:26the only thing that's a little bit different of the plastic is the head.
07:28The head is more of a rubber.
07:30Not sure really why they chose to make it rubber, while everything else is kind of more just the denser plastic.
07:35But I think, like, Jada Toys has some of the best plastics when it comes to their action figures.
07:40If you've kind of been collecting Jada Toys, and then you've been collecting other figure lines,
07:43you kind of already know.
07:44Like, there's a gradient of different plastics.
07:46Some a little bit more brittle than others.
07:47Some feel a little lighter than others.
07:49Jada Toys does do pretty good plastic.
07:52That's all I'm going to really talk about that.
07:54Now, for the figure's head sculpt, this is the default neutral expression of Chung Lee.
07:59Granted, though, if you want to get something a little bit more aggressive,
08:01she does also have this alternate head sculpt.
08:03In both, though, the cases, the head is really rubbery.
08:08Like, especially the back bonnets, or the little parts for the, I guess,
08:11what do they call it, like the pigtails that she has on the back of her head.
08:15Very, very rubbery plastic.
08:17I've also noticed, too, like even the defaulted head.
08:19Maybe the head is a little harder in plastic.
08:21Maybe I'm actually more comparing it, the little pom-poms that she has on the back.
08:24These are definitely, by far, more rubbery plastic.
08:27So maybe those were added as a separate piece.
08:29And maybe the head, okay, maybe the head is a little bit about the same plastic as the rest of her body.
08:34Changing out the head, though, is very easy, though.
08:36Again, if you want to kind of stick with this one,
08:38again, I probably would just choose the displayer with this head sculpt.
08:41Again, you just hold on to the torso, pop the head off super easy,
08:44and just pop the new head in place, like that.
08:49I will say, though, that popping on the head in both the cases,
08:52it seems like she's got a very short neck.
08:54Maybe the neck needed to be a little bit longer,
08:56but then if you kind of look at the proportions for the rest of her body,
08:58she's got short arms, kind of got short, I don't want to say stumpier legs,
09:02but she's certainly got squatter legs.
09:04Maybe the shorter neck like this works a little bit better for her proportions.
09:07Yeah, good-looking head sculpt.
09:08She's got the little bit of hair on the side here.
09:10That's also rubbery plastic.
09:12I think the paint's done really well.
09:14Also, I mean, again, she's got a little bit of the darker colors of the cheeks,
09:18a little bit of rouge there.
09:20Painted nicely is the teeth on top of the bottom.
09:22I think her eyes are really painted well, too.
09:24Again, she's got lots of posability.
09:26She has the skirting here on the front,
09:28which is also, like the bonnets, softer plastic.
09:32Again, they've done...
09:33Obviously, I don't want to spend a whole lot of time showing this,
09:34but yeah, they've painted the bottom of this as well.
09:37Literally, the bottom of the figure.
09:38Painted that as well.
09:39So, like the plastic and the paint overall is really well done.
09:43I mean, Jada Toys, as something I also want to say as well,
09:46for the price that you're paying for these figures, like Chung Lee,
09:49yeah, it's a little smaller of a figure.
09:51Maybe I'll get around to trying to pick up a couple more of these
09:53if I can go to other stores.
09:55But like, you know, I think for the size,
09:57I think for the accessories that you're getting,
09:58the fact that you get like the multiple kick attack,
10:00whether it does have the, again, the loose display stand or not,
10:04all those things translate to a figure that's $25.
10:06I think that's a pretty good price.
10:08Now, for Chung Lee's articulation,
10:10the head's going to be on a ball joint,
10:12so it allows the head to rotate all the way around.
10:14That may have been one of the reasons
10:15why they chose to make these softer rubber,
10:18just because it would make things a lot easier
10:19when it comes to rotating her head.
10:20It doesn't clip necessarily to her shoulder pads.
10:23The head can easily rotate all the way around.
10:26The head can look up and down,
10:28and you can also move it back and forth as well.
10:30The upper torso for Chung Lee is super poseable.
10:33Technically, it is really on two different ball joints,
10:36so you've got the top of the torso right here.
10:38That's on a ball joint,
10:39and then lower from that, just above her skirting,
10:42there's a secondary ball joint there as well.
10:44The arms rotate all the way around.
10:46You can bring the arms out really easily at 90 degrees.
10:50Like, getting her out of the packaging,
10:52I didn't think she'd be able to do as much as she could
10:54just for how much additional sculpting she had in the shoulders.
10:57Again, the paint is fantastic on this figure.
10:59A lot of nice yellows.
11:00I don't know if these are necessarily been hand-painted.
11:02Sorry, I didn't mean to clip you there.
11:04I don't know if this has been hand-painted,
11:05but you can see, like, the yellow is really cleanly painted
11:08on the shoulders, right around the sleeve area there as well.
11:11The spikes on her bracelets.
11:13Really nicely painted figure.
11:15Back, though, to the figure's articulation,
11:17Chung Lee does have a swivel.
11:19Now, the swivel actually is just below the sleeve,
11:22so they've done a nice job to hide that.
11:24The figure does also have a double hinge on the elbow.
11:26The hands, whether you want to use this hand
11:28or the one that we started with,
11:30they rotate the same way around.
11:31And you can also hinge them back and forth there, too.
11:33The legs, because she does also have the split on the sides,
11:36she can do a full splits.
11:38So, again, if you want to have her pose like that,
11:39I mean, who in their right mind is going to be displaying Chung Lee like that?
11:42But you can display her with the splits.
11:43You can bring her legs forward and back.
11:46There is a swivel somewhat at the top of the thigh.
11:49A little lower than that, though, about three-quarters of the way,
11:52there's a swivel cut.
11:53So you can rotate the leg all the way around that way.
11:56The figure does also have a double hinge on the knee.
11:59Articulation where, because the boot is a separate piece
12:01and it's been pegged to the calf,
12:03she does technically then have a rotation here to the boot.
12:06There's an ankle pivot up and down,
12:08an ankle rocker back and forth.
12:10And even though, really, she doesn't come include with a display stand,
12:13yeah, I know, she comes with this stand,
12:14but she doesn't come with a stand for herself.
12:16She does have peggles on the bottoms of her feet.
12:18You just don't have a stand that goes with that.
12:20But I'm sure, though, it's a universally sized peg,
12:23so you could use yourself probably another display stand if you so wish.
12:27First time, I know, a little late to looking at these,
12:29this is also the Street Fighter Chung Lee.
12:32Probably she was the reasoning why.
12:34I mean, I saw a couple of,
12:36maybe it was a Dalsium that I saw kind of really warming the pegs.
12:40I had really no interest in that.
12:41I almost pulled the trigger to get a Ryu.
12:44Then for one reason or another,
12:45I think I decided to get something else.
12:46I probably should have, being the fact that that store was out of my way,
12:50I probably should have picked up the Ryu when I had the chance.
12:53I've seen one Guile.
12:54I've seen maybe one Ken.
12:55It's few and far between.
12:56And probably one of the reasons, too,
12:58why we haven't looked at these things at all on this channel.
13:01Just more for availability.
13:03I know with Chester Cheetah,
13:04to get a Chester Cheetah,
13:06that's one figure.
13:07There has been a variant of him as well,
13:09but that's one figure.
13:10When it comes to also the monster figures,
13:13monster mascots for General Mills.
13:14I know, like, I'm only going to get a Frankenberry.
13:16I'm only going to be getting a Count Chocolate and a Boo Berry,
13:19because that's all they've done for right now.
13:21Street Fighter is hard,
13:22because then if you're going in to get one figure,
13:24I mean, you sort of have now said to yourself,
13:26well, I've got to get one.
13:27Now I've got to get them all.
13:28It's kind of like Pokemon,
13:29but with Street Fighter instead.
13:31Chun-Li sort of started now.
13:32I don't know the journey that I'm going to want to continue.
13:34I will say, though,
13:35for the price of any of these figures
13:37that I've been picking up from Jada Toys,
13:38the cost of what they're producing these figures for,
13:41I mean, like the Mega Mans,
13:42which, again, should have been really an IP
13:44that I brought in as also comparisons.
13:46They've been knocking it out of the park
13:47with the Mega Man stuff.
13:48They've been knocking it out of the park
13:49with the other IPs that they've done.
13:50It just seems like a logical thing
13:52that I would have really wanted to do
13:53the Street Fighter stuff.
13:54And again, a lot of it just can be chalked up
13:56to what stores are currently stocking right now.
13:58I mean, I could go down the rabbit hole.
13:59I could say to myself,
14:00I'm going to start to collect Street Fighter
14:01now moving forward.
14:03That means, though,
14:04I can't really go to relying on stores
14:05because the stores are going to let me down.
14:07I'm going to have to go to places like maybe Amazon,
14:09I think from time to time,
14:10has the Street Fighter stuff.
14:11I'll have to go to places like Entertainment Earth
14:13to try to track them down that way.
14:14Or I can also go to the Facebook route
14:15of buying them from the Facebook selling groups.
14:18That's another good way to try to track these down.
14:21If you guys did want to see more
14:22of the Street Fighter figures,
14:23let me know down below in the comment section.
14:25I think if this was to be the first figure of many,
14:27I'm glad that I actually started with Chung Li.
14:29Not only is she one of my favorite figures,
14:31one of my favorite fighters in the game,
14:33but she translates to be a really nice looking figure as well.
14:35A little short and squat on sizing,
14:38but a really nice looking figure,
14:39well worth the price if you can find them.
14:40Pulling off the Hayaku Ratsu Kayaku,
14:42not an easy thing to say,
14:44but an easier thing to do,
14:45being of course the figure does have
14:46the display stand along with her.
14:49It's an easier feat to pull off,
14:51just because again,
14:51like the adjustable neck holds everything in place.
14:53She wouldn't be able to hold her own without it.
14:55Unfortunately though,
14:56the trade-off is that the adjustable neck
14:58happens to be loose in two knuckle joints.
15:00It only has two,
15:02and they're loose in both places.
15:03I'm going to maybe go in there,
15:04maybe tighten it up,
15:05just with a little bit of nail polish,
15:07a little bit of glue,
15:08just to kind of tighten up the joints
15:09as I'm moving it back and forth.
15:11I mean,
15:11with the way that it's designed right now,
15:13she's sort of now helping to hold the stand
15:15from flopping around,
15:17and the floppy stand,
15:18in turn,
15:18is also helping to hold Chung Lee upright.
15:21Now,
15:21I've got the figure displayed
15:22with the angrier expression.
15:24I think for going with this particular look,
15:26the angrier or more aggressive face
15:28is the better one to go with.
15:29The figure is well painted from head to toe,
15:32even though,
15:32again,
15:32she's a shorter statured figure,
15:34she's about the same size as Chester Cheetah.
15:36I think for a $25 figure,
15:38I don't feel like to go and walk out of Walmart
15:41with a $25 figure in hand.
15:43First of all,
15:43there's very few figures nowadays
15:45that even cost that price.
15:47That fact that Jada Toys is still marking
15:49and selling their figures for that $25 price,
15:51whether you do the Mega Man,
15:52whether you do the Chester Cheetah or more,
15:54I think they still have put themselves
15:56in a category space
15:57of selling their figures for a reasonable price
15:59that anybody could go in to start to collect these,
16:02whether you're like myself
16:03and you're collecting them late.
16:05Would you guys like to certainly see
16:06more Street Fighter figures from Jada Toys?
16:08Let me know down below in the comments section.
16:10I'll do my best to try to pick up more.
16:12If I was to rely again
16:13on trying to find these in the stores,
