People on the street: Who should win a Pride of Britain award?

We went out into Manchester to ask people on the street about the upcoming Pride of Britain awards and whether they could think of anyone deserving of a nomination.

00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Houston Betts.

00:02Today I'm out on the streets of Manchester asking people about the Pride of Britain Awards.

00:06And that's because they're coming up. We want to know what one person or set of people,

00:10people would nominate for the Pride of Britain Awards, what they've done and why they deserve it.

00:14There have been some brilliant winners from this region in the past.

00:17We want to know who people would put forward this time around.

00:20Carlos in BM, if you don't know, he's the first opening game Lord Mayor.

00:24He turns up to the small DIY groups as well as the big fancy events.

00:29And he's tireless. Every day he works to make the city a better place.

00:35I didn't even have to think. I know straight away that he does Manchester and the communities that he's involved with very, very proud of.

00:44Do you know what? I'm going to say the people who run the Queer Lit Bookshop,

00:47but they do loads of really good community things as well.

00:50They're one of the few accessible spaces in the city.

00:53It's one of the reasons why a lot of events that happen in the village tend to also have one there,

00:58because it's fully accessible.

01:00that's all the ways that they actually have the people who are in the village.

01:03It's one of the reasons why a lot of events has been the biggest resources that have been for.

01:05And that's why we do.

01:06You will have the biggest opportunities on the village it's been for.

01:07But the others have been for instance by a lot of電-1943-1944.

01:08So you can have the biggest opportunity for the difference between the people who are in the village.
