00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Bustonbet and today I'm out on the streets of Manchester asking people about catcalling and safety out on the streets.
00:08And that's because the police are currently making a big push to cut down on catcalling and track down perpetrators of it to try and make women feel more safe out on the streets of Manchester.
00:17We want to know if people think they're still a bit surprised that this is still an issue in 2025 and what they need to feel safer here in Manchester.
00:25It is surprising though that it has got to happen but yeah.
00:29I'm surprised that they're actually doing something about it to be honest.
00:32I probably feel safer in Manchester than I do at home. I will walk round here on my own no problem. Would you?
00:43I think so yeah. I mean we've never had any issues.
00:49I always come to town with somebody to be fair. I wouldn't come on my own. You live here so you probably...
00:55I wouldn't walk around at night on my own without a choice. I wouldn't feel very safe doing it.
01:00I would walk around at night on my own.
01:03I would walk around. I'm not happy to walk around close to New York City.
01:09I'm not happy to go up on my own.
01:12And you go up on my own.
01:14And that's why we're not happy to talk about that.
01:16I'm sorry. I would walk around.
01:17And that here's why I would come to the table in the table.
01:20And thank you for the table in the table.
01:21And that's why we can't see that I'd come up on my own.
