00:00Alpha Housing is building quality homes across Northern Ireland. Today we're here
00:08in Whitehead on the Antrim Coast at our Windsor Avenue site. Local elected
00:13representatives are joining us to see this project at its outset. This scheme
00:18is Alpha's first in Whitehead and for the first time we're partnering with
00:23Martin Property Group, a Northern Ireland firm which is one of the UK's leading
00:28property investment and development companies. Together we're transforming
00:32this brownfield site into an attractive development of 24 one and two bedroom
00:37apartments. In doing so we're turning a derelict eyesore into a valuable
00:43community asset. Martin Property Group delighted to be working with Alpha to
00:47redevelop this derelict site in the centre of Whitehead and provide much needed
00:51accommodation and investment into the town. We're looking forward to providing homes
00:55and quality accommodation for people in need and on the housing waiting list.
00:59Twelve apartments will be for general use with a further twelve homes built for
01:04independent older people including two for wheelchair users. This project is part
01:10of the Housing Executive's Social Housing Development Programme. It's great to see
01:15this place now being transformed. You can see for yourself what it's like but we'll
01:20not only deal with those anti-social behaviour problems but also make sure that
01:24we've much needed social housing and it's great to see that work progress.
01:27With nearly 50,000 families on the Housing Executive's waiting list there's never
01:32been a greater need for new social homes. Construction work is about to start in
01:37earnest and we expect the new homes to be ready in spring 2027. New residents will
01:43benefit from the development central location just off Kings Road giving easy
01:47access to local shops and amenities. Whitehead train station and the seafront
01:52are also just a short walk away. Alpha Housing now has a growing number of
01:57developments on site across Antrim and throughout Northern Ireland. We're excited
