From GCSE’s to A-Levels, the youth of today have plenty of tests to keep them busy in their education, but are tests putting too much pressure on young people?

00:00I think it's a very archaic system and it's not been updated for years and it's basically a memory
00:08test. So you have 11, 12 years in education and it all boils down to having a good memory at the
00:14end of the day and it shouldn't be like that. My youngest son's just finishing his A-levels,
00:18he's been engaged with them for two years and I think he's generally enjoyed them but the level
00:24of pressure that he's been under has been quite amazing. The work he's produced has been fantastic
00:29but from Edward's point of view I think he has said that he would like possibly instead of big
00:35exams at the end more of a considered approach. Exams put too much pressure on young children
00:41especially with everything else that's meant to be dealt with. I think that they really benefited me
00:47so I could like in my future career they help me like answer like questions. Focus on like real
00:55life things and not like worry about them.
