00:00Hello, this is eSoup, aka Specific Soup. Today, I'm excited to react to something that I have
00:07wanted to jump on since I saw the notification on YouTube, but I've had to wait before I got
00:14a chance to record this. I am absolutely obsessed with this artist Moses Sumney. He's incredible,
00:21just like, you gotta listen to his music. He's just amazing. And you probably know Haley Williams
00:25from Paramore. So they did a song together and it's called I Like It, I Like It. And there's just
00:31like this image of them. They're both like blonde and it's, it's just a lyric video. But I mean,
00:36I'm just here for the song because I'm so curious what a song with them together is going to sound
00:40like. I have no expectations other than them being high because like it's, it's Moses Sumney
00:45and Haley Williams. But like, I don't know, like, what are they going to do together? I don't know.
00:50So I'm not going to stall any longer. We're going to get right into it.
00:55Like having goosebumps, but like, you know, the, the spines on a cactus, but it's like,
01:25we touch and then you get goosebumps, but they're, but they're needles. I, I'm, I'm obsessed
01:30with that line.
01:31What? God, Moses Sumney lyrics are crazy. Like I know these, these have to be his lyrics.
01:50I just, they are nuts and I love them.
01:55Ooh.
01:55Ooh.
01:56Ooh.
02:02Ooh.
02:03Ooh.
02:06Ooh.
02:07Ooh.
02:08Ooh.
02:09okay so there's something like weirdly minimalist about this song like what are we getting
02:25in instrumental there's like a synth and there's like a drum and the the drumming kind of like
02:32the rhythm is kind of guiding the song but i feel like there's just like not a lot in the background
02:38and it kind of like throws me off but i also really like it go back a second
02:44oh there is bass
02:57oh my god it's like she's looking right at me
03:08love the shades
03:18there we go
03:26oh she sees me
03:30oh
03:41what a great line to give her you know and honestly i said oh these have to be mimosas
03:51what a great line to give her
04:02you know and honestly i said oh these have to be mimosas somny lyrics just because they sound like
04:07it to me but i don't know if they wrote if they wrote this song together and if they collaborated
04:11on lyrics because that is also possible um but this is great i'm loving this so much and it's so
04:18this feels like such a weird thing for hayley williams to do like in a good way but it's like
04:23i feel like a lot of paramore fans and fans of her are gonna find this and be like whoa like what
04:29i just i'm i'm obsessed with this right now i'm obsessed with the lyrics and the singing is great
04:36too and like when they sing together it sounds really good
04:39he looks at her like what
04:49and by the way when i said this song is so weirdly minimalist
05:07it certainly started that way but i like the way that it's building
05:11it's so spacey
05:15i like it
05:25i like it
05:29oh
05:39oh
05:41oh i love the way they're framing this
05:57framing this.
06:13Now they're both just staring at me.
06:27Hello.
06:33Oh.
06:57Oh, the ending!
06:59Oh!
07:01Cute!
07:05Oh my god!
07:07Oh my god.
07:09Oh my god.
07:11Hold up, hold up.
07:13What do I say?
07:15That was incredible.
07:17I am so glad I finally got a chance to listen to this.
07:19It came out nine days ago, and when I saw
07:21the thumbnail, I was like,
07:23I have to watch this right now.
07:25And I remembered, no.
07:27This would be good to react to.
07:29And I was disciplined, and I waited
07:31for nine days.
07:33That is just so incredible.
07:35And I'm gonna be listening to this again and again,
07:37and just like really thinking about the lyrics.
07:39As a song, it's like,
07:41like it starts off minimalist, like it said,
07:43and then just the way it builds in particular
07:45is so...
07:47Ugh! It's like really...
07:49I don't know. I feel like as a song
07:51it gets under your skin.
07:53But that's just how I feel about it.
07:55I was never expecting
07:57this collaboration in a million years,
07:59and it's so interesting because it really is not
08:01something that Hayley Williams would typically
08:03do. But like,
08:05she really worked in the song.
08:07Like, they fit well together, and when they
08:09were singing together, it sounded
08:11really nice. Just...
08:13It works! Like, this collaboration
08:15really works. And it does make me
08:17want to check out what Hayley Williams is
08:19doing now. Because maybe I'll
08:21be surprised, and there's other kind of
08:23off-the-wall things like this where I
08:25wouldn't expect it. So I don't know, I
08:27might check out... I might do some reactions
08:29to some of her, like, recent
08:31stuff, or recent
08:33Paramore. If you have
08:35particular suggestions, let
08:37me know. Cause yeah, I really have
08:39not listened to Paramore
08:41since, like, the riot era
08:43besides, like, a couple songs
08:45that I heard in passing. So I
08:47really have no idea what
08:49they're doing. So that would
08:51be really cool. So that's that.
08:53Until next time, this
08:55is eSoup, signing out.
