00:04your heart only because of the former sweater upon which he wore uh talk to me about this guy

00:09go yes emotional wilmer flores there's nothing wrong with being emotional wilmer nothing nothing

00:15you wear your heart on your sleeve good for you he's also wearing a lot of homers in the stat

00:18sheet which is kind of shocking and you can think of this surprise section as kind of a modified

00:23version of buy or sell or hold and with wilmer flores first 50 games here into the season

00:29he has 23 runs scored 10 homers 42 rbi a 257 batting average flores is basically on pace for

00:36a killer season the problem is when you dig a little bit deeper i i think you're going to see

00:43the things are eventually going to fall off first of all all these um numbers are far greater than

00:49his normal totals or things that he's usually on pace for uh it's always a fun thing to look at the

00:54pace for a player too and say okay what's he going to do this year is wilmer flores going to

00:59hit 31 homers driving 133 runs this year i don't think so if you look at the baseball savant page

01:04too you'll see the batting average right now for him is at 253 the expected batting average 241

01:10the slugging is a 429 the expected slugging 369 his exit velo is one of the worst in baseball his hard

01:18hit rate is among the two lowest two percent in baseball basically this all screams sell sell sell

01:25because this is unsustainable when it comes to wilmer flores and it's not to say he's not a good

01:29player and he hasn't given you productivity yep maybe you drafted him a deeper league or you picked

01:34him up off the waiver wire and you got to love what you've gotten from him but you have to be realistic

01:37and understand that he's not going to be a 31 30 player that's not who he is and that's not what the

01:43baseball savant page is telling us either it's screaming regression and chances are it's going to hit and

01:50hit hard and you're going to be in two camps you're going to hold on to him and you're going to have

01:54to bench him or drop him or you could take these numbers package it with something else and see if

01:59you can buy low on someone and i think that is probably the better path when it comes to wilmer

02:03flores because matt when you look at those numbers and those deeper stats they all tell you a very

02:08different story than currently what we're seeing in the box scores
