00:04but the 21-year-old Eldridge back up in the big leagues,
00:06he went 0-for-2 with a walk and a K in his season debut with the Giants,
00:11got up for a cup of coffee last year,
00:13comes off of 30 games in Sacramento where he had 11 extra base hits,
00:1622 driven in, and a 9-63 OPS.
00:19What do you expect from a young Eldridge?
00:22This is another one.
00:23It's kind of similar to the conversation we just had.
00:26I don't know.
00:27I really hope it's good.
00:30He says in his words he feels sexy in the box right now.
00:33Love to hear that.
00:34You need to be feeling sexy in the box when you get up to the big leagues.
00:37But this is another player here.
00:40Elite, elite power.
00:41I don't need to sell you on that.
00:43Just look at him.
00:44But it's a 66% contact rate in the PCL.
00:48What is that going to translate to?
00:50I don't know.
00:51It's either going to translate to a lot of whiff and a lot of power
00:55or too much whiff and not enough contact to get to the power enough.
01:00So I think it was the right time to bring him up.
01:02He's swinging it pretty well.
01:04He's still striking out 30% of the time in the PCL.
01:06But you need a spark right now.
01:08And Eldridge could very easily be that spark.
01:11But at the same time, this is another one of those prospects that –
01:14and the more I've just kind of talked to people with teams and stuff like that,
01:18it's like as much on the public side as we say,
01:20this guy could be incredible.
01:21Yeah, teams acknowledge that.
01:22But they also acknowledge that he could whiff so much
01:26that he's not really anything at all.
01:28So that's what makes it so tough with Eldridge.
01:30But at the same time, he's 21 years old.
01:32So that even if this was a rough year at the big league level,
01:36I don't think anybody's saying like he's done.
01:39So it's a tough spot for him where come up and help us now,
01:43but you're also 21 years old.
01:44You flew through the minor league so quickly that the final stage
01:47of your development might have to be had at the major league level.
01:50And it might result in a couple years of just not reaching your potential.
01:55But we'll see.
01:56I do think it's going to be kind of turbulent through the first year or two
01:59for Bryce Eldridge of getting regular at-bats at the big league level.
02:02But he could be that power guy at 23 years old, 24 years old,
02:07that puts it all together.
02:08And then you see that 40 homer upside.
