00:21They took care of Arizona earlier in the week.
00:24They split the series at least thus far against Toronto,
00:27but that's what they have to count on, Tom,
00:30is they have to count on a massive trade, like a Soto-type trade, I think,
00:34to get them into the postseason.

01:02They could have had a six-man rotation.
01:04Everyone would have been healthy.
01:05The problem is when the offense is so bad,
01:09the strongest portion of the Padres team is what?
01:12The bullpen.
01:13But if you can't get to them with the lead,
01:15that bullpen doesn't matter.
01:18It's irrelevant.
01:18If you can't turn it over to Mason Miller
01:20with a two- or three-run lead,
01:22then he never gets to shine.
01:23So when the offense doesn't live up to hype
01:26and Tatis is having a bad year
01:28and Gavin Sheets is a good veteran,
01:31but he only can do so much
01:32and Jackson Merrill doesn't live up to hype
01:34and Xander Bogarts has a horrible contract
01:36and Manny Machado is on the backside of his group
01:38and all these pieces fall together,
01:39you're going to have one of the worst scoring teams in baseball
01:41and nothing else matters if you can't score runs
01:44and turn it over to a great bullpen.
01:46Yeah, but the thing is for me is do they take Mason Miller
01:50and move, he's been the best reliever in baseball,
01:54to move him for a major league player maybe,
01:57or a hitter.
01:59This is the crazy stuff that happens with Prelia.
02:02Look, Prelia's going to do something at the deadline.
02:04This guy has to do something.
02:06He always does, but certainly we'll see
02:09because the Padres have been perennial contenders,
02:12perennial playoff team,
02:13but this year definitely on the outside looking in
02:16in the National League with some other teams
02:17jumping up a little bit.
