00:00Oh great, Boneface has gotten his paws on his claws. Here's a look at the Mattel and Matthew Universe Masterverse, New Eternia, Terror Claws, Skeletor.
00:07The Diabolical Lord of Destruction crafted the only weapon that will allow him to stand nose-to-nose in melee battle with He-Man, the dreaded Terror Claws.
00:30What say, before we look at the most manicured man in the universe, we take the tape measure, and we see how tall the New Eternia Terror Claws figure stands.
00:37Now, this wave's not bad at all. Not only do we get a Terror Claws Skeletor, that takes my opinion of Terror Claws Skeletor, which has generally been sort of meh, and makes him a lot cooler.
00:46But we also got a pretty cool-looking hard-to-find Ninjor. Still have not had any chance to find that She-Ra, but we will be looking at Ninjor in the upcoming review.
00:53With that all being said, though, as promised, the tape measure is going to tell us that Terror Claws Skeletor stands at 7 inches in height.
01:01He does. You can see it for yourself. That works out to be a figure that's 18 centimeters tall.
01:05Eternia certainly likes its gimmicks, and so does Keldor, too.
01:08In fact, that last time we've actually got ourselves a gimmick Skeletor happened to be a real fan-favorite, the battle armor release of him.
01:14A similar-sized figure, completely different armor altogether.
01:17What's rather interesting, though, is while he seems to be sharing the same style of body underneath,
01:21he's not using the same arms as battle-arm Skeletor.
01:24For that, I'm going to bring in the example here of the new Adventures of He-Man Skeletor.
01:27I know many people would just be disgusted at the new Adventures of He-Man.
01:31And I personally thought it's charming. It's a charming series that has to kind of grow on you.
01:35But this has actually grown on me quite considerably.
01:37I just love the look of this Skeletor.
01:39And what's rather interesting, though, about this version of Skeletor is that he's also using the exact same arms.
01:44These hoses, while unfortunately not being painted at all on this version of Skeletor,
01:48happen, though, to be painted on the Terror Claws release of him.
01:51Let's also bring in another version of Skeletor, one of my personal favorites as of late.
01:54This was the one that got packed along with this Havoc Throne.
01:57And see, of course, we are looking at the upgrade, the 7-inch scale of him.
01:59Let's bring in the smaller scale release.
02:01Again, not one of my personal favorites as Skeletor.
02:05But if you are, though, a completionist, it's probably a Skeletor that you have part of your collection.
02:09As be expected, Skeletor comes in clear with his Terror Claws with an S.
02:13Unexpected, though, that they weren't packaged plural.
02:15The Claws themselves, actually, one of them were only sitting inside the tray with Skels.
02:19The other one, though, had to be looked for.
02:21It was located in the little side compartment tray of the box.
02:23So making sure, of course, you check that box before you discard the packaging.
02:26If you discard the packaging, then you're going to only be Terror Claw Skeletor with one, well, no S at all.
02:32Looking, though, at the Claws themselves, I do think, though, that they are a vast improvement over the ones we did get before.
02:39These ones also do have hand posability, too, which was really kind of surprising to me.
02:42I just really expected that the Claws would just be, like, self-contained.
02:46Sure enough, stick them onto Skeletor's forearms, and that's basically all you'd be able to do.
02:50But no, the hands themselves do have some pretty decent levels of posability.
02:53Let's bring in, though, Mediocre Skeletor.
02:55I shouldn't really keep saying that, but Terror Claw Skeletor is one of my least favorites.
02:58Dragon Fire Skeletor, I think, still has Terror Claw Skeletor beat.
03:02You can fight me for that if you want.
03:03Looking at the two designs, though, of the Terror Claws,
03:06you can definitely see, though, how this would have been the inspiration to this,
03:09although they have taken some leaps and bounds over the designs.
03:12Instead of just really relying on a snap piece that went basically over his form,
03:16this, again, is a fully encased piece that basically attaches by the peg inside.
03:19It also changes the plastic molded color that they went with initially,
03:24and chose instead to mold and paint this in a glorious metallic blue.
03:28Not only do I really like the look of the blue, of course, it still retains all the riveteds,
03:32but also, too, one thing that they've added is the dragon motif.
03:35It adds some appreciated silver, but it also adds a lot more to the decorative details.
03:40Now, the claws themselves, as mentioned, these would have just normally snapped onto Skeletor,
03:43so we just bring back in the Terror Claw Skeletor.
03:45This basically just, yeah, snaps over top of his form like that.
03:48Now, this goes a little bit more complicated in that you have to kind of,
03:52you have to remove the hands on the ends of his forearms,
03:54and then you swap them out with these.
03:56On the inside, though, there's actually a peg, and the peg isn't poseable,
03:59but it will, though, plug into the end stumps.
04:02We're going to do that, though, in a second.
04:04He does also come in clear with a couple of hoses.
04:06Now, you can choose to have the hoses off if you want,
04:09or if you want to go full all out, just attach the hoses.
04:12Now, there's a peg here and a peg here.
04:13They plug into a hole here and a hole in the back of the figure's body.
04:18A cautionary tale, though, one thing about the Cobra,
04:21well, one thing I wanted to point out, though,
04:22is first of all, it does kind of look like a Cobra crest,
04:25which will play some significance in a few moments, so stay tuned for that.
04:29But one thing that's kind of interesting, though,
04:31is that the hoses, while seeming to be all made of molded plastic, softer plastic,
04:36the end pegs are not.
04:37They're harder plastic.
04:38See this as a cautionary tale that when you do a plug this onto Teroclaw Skeletor's claws,
04:43if at some point you choose to want to remove these,
04:46now, I've already detached these, obviously, for the sake of this review,
04:49you may find yourself having to retrieve the peg.
04:52The pegs come free a couple of times from the softer plastic
04:54and found its way lodged on the end of the forearm.
04:57So I had to take myself like a pair of pliers and just kind of fish this back out.
05:01It only seems to happen on one side,
05:03and I think it happens on this side claw.
05:05Not that, again, it really matters.
05:06Just be aware of that.
05:08So the claws themselves, again, will just fit onto the ends of Skeletor's forearms.
05:11And then, again, you're going to take yourself the hoses.
05:13They plug in.
05:14They plug in.
05:14And then you've got yourself a completely looking Skeletor.
05:16Before we complete the look of Skeletor,
05:18let's look at Skeletor himself.
05:21Now, here's what we're talking about in the upgrade.
05:23I'm going to bring back in the origin Skeletor with his belly tee.
05:25I mean, it's one of the more sillier-looking Skeletors.
05:28With the belly tee, the skell motif there on the front,
05:30it's also ribbed as well.
05:31I'm sure there's a joke there somewhere.
05:33They've still kind of kept the look there with the dragon motif,
05:36or the skell motif,
05:37but now they've gone in and painted the hoses.
05:40So already, they've brought a little bit more to the table
05:42than just a belly tee Skeletor.
05:43I can't believe they gave him a belly tee armor.
05:46Head sculpts clearly are going to be completely different.
05:48The Terrorclaw Skeletor really just relies on Skeletor having a hood.
05:52Well, now the newer version of him now gives him a helmet.
05:55What's rather interesting, though, is that they also have given him a visor.
05:58This visor does really remind me of version,
06:00I think it's version 4 Cobra Commander from 1991.
06:03If you're not familiar with that Cobra Commander,
06:05he was known for being packaged with like a bazooka that fired a foam dart.
06:08And across the room, it would go.
06:10I think I actually had that as a kid.
06:12But that Cobra Commander had a red visor.
06:14And I don't know why looking at this version of,
06:17I was going to say Cobra Commander,
06:18but this version of Skeletor does really remind me of Cobra Commander.
06:22Now, if you don't like this look,
06:24and you'd rather have the look without the visor,
06:26the visor is technically removable.
06:28Granted, though, you can't still open and access his mouth.
06:31You can open and close it.
06:32You can still make out the sockets of his eyes and his nasal cavity.
06:36Although, again, it's covered over by a visor.
06:39Let's just say you're one of those individuals
06:41that don't like the look of this, and you want to remove it.
06:43Okay.
06:44The first couple of times you're going to do this,
06:45you're going to have a struggle.
06:46But as this gets looser,
06:47you're going to find it's a whole lot easier to take off.
06:49Just sort of take the visor.
06:50And I find first it's kind of helpful to just kind of drop this down a bit,
06:54enough to kind of get your finger around it.
06:55Just sort of hold the sides and pry this off.
06:59And you can see how much length of plastic has to go
07:01before it finally escapes itself from the helmet.
07:04And once it's removed, it kind of looks like Jubilee's glasses.
07:08I mean, once it's removed,
07:09then you have yourself a very serviceable-looking Skeletor head sculpt.
07:12Certainly, though, one of the best.
07:13I always say, I know it's certainly one of the best.
07:16This is the thing that the guy always says behind the camera.
07:18It's a good-looking Skeletor, though.
07:20No, you cannot remove the helmet, if that was your expectation.
07:23I mean, I'm sure you probably could pry this off
07:25and try to use the head for something else.
07:27But I actually kind of like this.
07:29I'm not really sure, though, if I'd really want to keep the visor on.
07:31I think the visor does add something to it,
07:33but I certainly understand those that would have really preferred to have it off.
07:37The face sculpt is painted really well.
07:38Dark green outlining, pretty much like the parameter of the yellow face.
07:42Again, you've got the red eyes and the sockets.
07:44The mouth, again, does open and close.
07:46Full accessibility there.
07:48It's, again, a really nice-looking Skeletor.
07:50Now, to look again at his arms,
07:52I'm going to bring back in the new Adventures of He-Man,
07:54so you guys can see.
07:55Same arms.
07:56Now, this time, though, they've gone in and actually painted some silver,
07:59whereas the original arms never had that before.
08:01I don't assume that they're probably going to be using the exact same body.
08:04I can't imagine.
08:05Like, if they're already using a new Eternia body
08:06for really the most part of it,
08:08for all the rest of the part of it,
08:09I can't really see that they're going to be using this part of his torso.
08:12They're probably just using a regular torso underneath.
08:15Granted, though, the armor is removable.
08:17It's just a case of snapping off the sides here
08:19and just taking off the top.
08:20But just because I know it's going to be a new Eternia body underneath,
08:23I have real no need to take this off.
08:26However, though, what I'm going to do
08:27is just show you the rest of the figure's body.
08:28Now, one thing that's kind of cool, too,
08:30is that they keep carrying over a motif
08:32of having this sort of dragon.
08:34I don't know if it's a dragon.
08:35It's an eagle.
08:36Almost even looks like a serpent.
08:38I'm sure it's probably a snake, a bird.
08:40Who knows?
08:41What they have, though, done
08:42is they carried over the same design of the belt,
08:44although they've given him a different loincloth.
08:47Softer plastic gets used down below here.
08:49He's got still the monster feet.
08:50Not quite, though, molded.
08:52Not quite even sculpted the exact same.
08:54Now, whereas the original one
08:55would have been done in purple,
08:56the new one now gets done in the metallic blue,
08:58the same metallic blue that he has for his gloves
09:00and also for his terror claws.
09:03So let's go ahead and we'll remove the hands.
09:06So this is basically what you have to do
09:07if you want to attach onto the claws.
09:08Take off one hand.
09:09Do the same thing on the other side.
09:11Now, you can either choose
09:12to have the hoses attached first,
09:15or you might even find it easier
09:16just to attach the hands.
09:17I find it the latter.
09:18It's a whole lot easier, really,
09:19to put on the hands first
09:20and then attach the hoses after the fact.
09:22So if you're looking at them,
09:24there clearly seems to be a longer length
09:25on the middle fingers.
09:27So based on that, at least,
09:28I would rather go with this being the thumb.
09:30I mean, I suppose you probably could say
09:31that that's the thumb.
09:32I think that's clearly more the shorter digit.
09:34So that's going to go on this side.
09:36That's going to go on this side, right?
09:38Okay.
09:39Based at least on that,
09:40if you're looking at the inside of this,
09:42it's a longer post.
09:43Basically, it's just going to attach
09:44onto the end of the hole.
09:44I mean, that's simple, simple shapes.
09:47Although sight unseen,
09:48you're not going to be able
09:48to really see what you're doing.
09:49You kind of have to just feel it around.
09:51Put as much pressure as you feel
09:53you need to put in
09:53until eventually the terror claw stays in place.
09:56That's on one side.
09:57Then do the same thing on the other.
09:59So again, there's the peg.
10:02I know I hate to sound so redundant.
10:03Just keep pointing out the exact same things.
10:05But once that's in place,
10:06is that going to stay in place?
10:07I think it is.
10:08Then you can go ahead
10:09and choose to either have the hoses on
10:11or the hoses off.
10:11I'm going to choose to have the hoses on.
10:14So if you're looking at the shapes,
10:15the way that it's curved,
10:16it kind of works the best
10:17to take this peg,
10:17put it right there.
10:19Then you can kind of
10:19keep the shape the same.
10:21And when you're doing this too,
10:22you really have to kind of
10:23wiggle it back and forth.
10:25So that's completely
10:26all in there on the armor.
10:28Then we'll just attach
10:29onto the terror claw.
10:32Now I've done this
10:33probably like five or six times
10:34now already.
10:35And the thing about it though
10:36is I've had the peg come off
10:38I think every time.
10:40Not this side, granted.
10:41It was always on this side.
10:43So it's this peg right here.
10:45And you probably can even see
10:46it's a little looser now
10:47for the times that I've done this.
10:49So again,
10:49we're just going to take the peg.
10:52I know we're just essentially
10:53rinsing and repeating the steps.
10:56Plug that onto the back
10:56of Skeletor's body.
10:58Then take the hose
10:59and we'll just slot it right in there.
11:02Slot's really not the best word to use.
11:03You really do have to exert
11:04some pressure.
11:06And wiggling really can be
11:07your best friend.
11:08Not to say that you have to
11:09get out of your seat
11:10and start to wiggle around
11:10but you really would
11:11find it easier to wiggle
11:13this back and forth
11:13until it finally attaches
11:14onto Skeletor's forearm.
11:16Now you have completed
11:17terror claw's Skeletor
11:18with or without the visor.
11:20That's entirely up to you.
11:21It certainly does take
11:22what I feel to be
11:24a very mediocre
11:24belly-tea Skeletor
11:26and it does make him
11:27certainly a little bit
11:27more cooler.
11:29The figure's articulation
11:30though is the following.
11:31He of course does have
11:32a ball joint
11:32so he allows the head
11:33to rotate all the way around.
11:34Head's going to move up
11:35and down
11:36and of course you can move
11:36the back and forth as well.
11:38In addition to that
11:38you can also open and close
11:39Skeletor's face
11:40or at least his jaw.
11:41I know we've kind of
11:42already established that.
11:43He doesn't have obviously
11:44the swinging feature.
11:46This version of Skeletor
11:47not this one.
11:48Just get him to stand here
11:49for a second.
11:50This version of Skeletor
11:51would have had just a little
11:51piece on the back of his body.
11:53Something just so you could hold.
11:55And does it make this figure
11:56any bit cooler
11:57the fact that he can
11:57actually do it?
11:58No.
11:58I don't think so.
11:59I don't think so.
12:00But while this figure
12:01would be able to do this
12:02this version of Skeletor
12:03cannot.
12:03Now for his arms
12:05the arms in theory
12:06would be able to rotate
12:07all the way around.
12:08Once really you attach
12:09the hoses
12:09you're going to limit
12:10some of that mobility.
12:11The arms can come out
12:12at 90 degrees
12:13or a little less
12:14than perhaps 90.
12:15The figure does have
12:16a bicep swivel
12:16a double hinge
12:17on the elbow.
12:18Although really once now
12:19you've added the terror claw
12:20you reduce really
12:22the amount of
12:23posability this guy
12:24has by one.
12:25I think you really
12:26can only now bend him
12:26with a single hinge.
12:28You can't really bend it
12:28by two.
12:29The hands also rotate
12:31all the way around
12:31independently.
12:32I'm really nice to see
12:33that they've added that
12:34because ideally
12:35they could have just
12:35really had this
12:36all as just a shell piece
12:37but the fact that
12:38they actually added
12:39some posability
12:39to the claw
12:40is a really nice touch.
12:42Yes.
12:43The figure does have
12:44swivel in his waist
12:45splits on his legs.
12:47Those legs yes
12:47can go forward and back.
12:49There's a swivel
12:49three quarters
12:50the way up the thigh
12:50he rotates those
12:51all the way around.
12:52The figure does have
12:53a double hinge
12:53on his knee.
12:55One thing I will say
12:56though is his
12:56lower boot
12:57seems really loose.
12:59I mean not that
12:59that's going to impact
13:00the figure's stability
13:01on the shelf
13:02but I did notice
13:03though it's really
13:04really loose
13:04getting in the figure
13:05out of the packaging.
13:06The figure does have
13:07an ankle pivot up and down
13:08an ankle rocker as well
13:09and of course
13:09as mentioned
13:10the figure does have
13:11did I mention it already?
13:12If not I'll mention it now.
13:13The figure does have
13:13pegels on the bottoms
13:14of his feet.
13:17It's apparently
13:18had to take
13:19the new Eternia release
13:20of Terraclaw Skeletor
13:21to now make this guy
13:22interesting in my eyes.
13:24I mean again
13:24like for looking
13:25at the original one here
13:26now again
13:26this is the
13:27the Origins version
13:28not the original
13:28vintage figure
13:29I never really liked
13:31the look of Terraclaw Skeletor.
13:32I'm a completionist
13:33so for that reason
13:34obviously I would have
13:35still picked him up
13:35but I would say
13:36from a gimmick standpoint
13:37he's my least favorite
13:39gimmicked Skeletor.
13:40If I really had to choose
13:41to make like
13:42vintage choice
13:43I probably would have
13:44gone with Battle Armor
13:45Skeletor as my
13:45all in all
13:46my number one.
13:48Dragon Fire Skeletor
13:49was also a really neat
13:50design as well
13:51but to take this design
13:52and now finally
13:53make him cool
13:54again whether you want
13:55to go with the visor
13:56or not
13:57that's entirely up to you.
13:58Hopefully though
13:59it's a unanimous feeling
14:00that now that we've
14:01gotten ourselves
14:02a new Eternia Skeletor
14:03that has the Terraclaws
14:04he's a much better version
14:06than what we got before
14:07with Belly T's Skeletor
14:08whether you had the vintage
14:10or whether you had
14:10the Origins.
14:11One thing that kind of
14:12made me laugh a bit
14:12when I was unboxing Skeletor
14:14realizing that he only
14:15had one Terraclaw
14:16sitting in the tray
14:16along with the figure
14:17and that I had to go
14:18to the compartment space
14:19to get the second one
14:20reminded me of the
14:21Christmas episode
14:21of Mr. Bean.
14:22Mr. Bean hangs
14:23a Christmas stocking
14:24on his mantle
14:25with the hope that
14:25Sam's going to arrive
14:26that night.
14:26Sure enough that day
14:28he wakes up
14:28and goes to the mantle
14:29thinking that there's
14:30going to be a gift
14:30inside the stocking
14:31only to pull it out
14:33and realize that
14:33the second sock
14:34was sitting inside
14:35the other
14:36and then of course
14:37exclaims
14:37ooh Christmas socks
14:38that immediately
14:40was the thing
14:40that popped in my head
14:41when I was unboxing
14:42Terraclaw Skeletor
14:43make sure though
14:44everybody that have
14:45ordered Terraclaw Skeletor
14:46for themselves
14:47that yeah you check
14:48the compartment space
14:49because if not
14:49it's going to be
14:50Terraclaws plural
14:51it's only going to be
14:52Terraclaw single
14:53from a standpoint
14:54of the design
14:55while he still has
14:56a belly tea armor
14:57it's probably one of
14:57the more laughable
14:58designs of Skeletor
14:59speaking of designs
15:00of Skeletor
15:01I know in a couple
15:01of times
15:02instances in this
15:03review I had
15:04called him Dragon Fire
15:05no it's Dragon Blaster
15:07Skeletor
15:07that's the Dragon Blaster
15:09that's the Skeletor
15:09that has the larger armor
15:11that covers at least
15:12his tummy
15:12and he's got a little
15:13perched pet dragon
15:14sitting on his shoulder
15:15I was confusing it
15:17with Operation Dragon Fire
15:18speaking a little bit
15:19of Cobra
15:19speaking of the 1991
15:21Cobra Commander
15:21which again like
15:22looking at Terraclaw Skeletor
15:23really reminds me of him
15:25what do you guys think
15:26of Terraclaw Skeletor
15:26let me know down below
15:27in the comments section
15:28a vast upgrade
15:29to the ridiculous
15:30Terraclaw Skeletor
15:31we got before in the 80s
15:33let me know down below
15:34also what do you think
15:35is the stupidest
15:36should we even really
15:36be calling things stupid
15:37I know if I was
15:39to ask my daughter
15:39she would say
15:40dad that's a bad word
15:41you're right
15:41that is a bad word
15:42what would you think
15:43is the silliest
15:44vintage gimmick character
15:46I mean it doesn't
15:47have to necessarily
15:48be Skeletor
15:48okay you know what
15:49well let's stick
15:50with Skeletor
15:50what do you think
15:51is the worst armor
15:52that Skeletor has had
15:53outside of his original
15:54do you think
15:55it's battle armor
15:56I don't think
15:56anybody's really
15:56going to say
15:57the worst armor
15:57that Skeletor
15:58has ever had
15:58is the battle armor
15:59probably would be
16:00a toss-up
16:00I would imagine
16:01between Dragon Blaster
16:02Skeletor
16:02and Terraclaws
16:03what would you think
16:04is the silliest armor
16:05Skeletor has ever had
16:06let me know down below
16:08if you guys did
