00:00Speaking about the recently concluded CWI Breakout League, a tournament which sought
00:05to give exposure to fringe players, TT Legion's all-rounder Navin Bidesi was full of praise
00:10for the CWI and CPL.
00:12I think firstly it was a great tournament, a great initiative by CWI and CPL to give
00:19players like myself who never really got the opportunity to showcase our talent.
00:22Having scored 125 runs and grabbing 10 wickets, tied for second most, Bidesi was pleased with
00:28his overall performance and happy to see the work that he's been putting into his craft
00:32pay off by earning the best all-rounder award.
00:35I think I'm going into the tournament with the performance I had.
00:39If someone told me this is what they're going to do throughout the tournament, I will take
00:43it any day.
00:44I think getting the best all-rounder I think was a great accomplishment because I always
00:49back myself as all-rounder.
00:51I think I've been putting in a lot of work behind the scenes, a lot of people don't really
00:55see, getting to training before training, staying back after training, even in Power
01:00Gen or a national team.
01:02So I'm happy that it's paying off, I'm really happy with the tournament.
01:07Although he battled some nerves at the beginning of the tournament, coming up against players
01:11within his age group and skill level where he feels he's been a standout player, the 25-year-old
01:16kept his approach to matches simple.
01:18The first game we played against Barbados, there was a lot of nerves, a lot, a lot, a lot of
01:22nerves, but just spending time in your cricket, being out on your field, just keep reminding
01:28myself that I've been doing this my whole life, it's just a normal game of cricket, just
01:32on a bigger stage.
01:33With the 2025 edition of the Caribbean Premier League just around the corner, Bidasi confirmed
01:38to us that his name is indeed part of the upcoming draft.
01:41He says it would be an honour to turn out for his home franchise, but he is relishing the
01:45opportunity to play in the tournament with any of the teams.
01:48Dominic Ramroop, TV6 Sport.
