00:00City Corporation Police whooped down on vendors early Monday morning and even removed some
00:07vending materials from along the Brian Lara promenade. The vendors tell TV6 they received
00:12no prior notice of the action.
00:30In the absence of official word from the Port of Spain Corporation, the vendors sought information from the police officers.
00:54They are saying that Thursday, Friday and Saturday we could sell, and if they come back, the officer now talks to me, he says if they come back and they meet a salon, they could see his regards.
01:10So I don't know, so I know, I'm telling him I'm a paper vendor, so how I will be selling my papers. He say he don't know, and he just walk away and go.
01:21TV6 News observed two vendors to the eastern end of the northern side of the promenade, who appeared to be unaffected by the action.
01:29I actually, I pay on a small fee to be here, so I don't know if they will jump in me or want to move me, you know, so I just watch it and see.

01:39Yeah, I pay the grocery people on a small fee to actually sell in this spot, you know, so I don't know if I consider like on the pavement or, you know, I still have to watch my back to see what goes on.
01:52They didn't tell me anything, you know, well, they actually came and, I don't know if they talked to the vendors of the road, but this morning I just came up, jive up and started to pick up everything, you know.
02:03They didn't really say anything to anybody, you know, so I don't know really going on.
02:08I just helped move one or two things for my brethren who sell right there little fruits and he's selling it for years, you know, so I find it to at least say something before they start to move around because it's real hard to lose all the things like that.
