00:00All right, so as we take a look at the forecast now across parts of the Northern Plains,
00:03this big ridge of high pressure in the jet stream, that is still allowing temperatures to just cook
00:08across parts of the Northern Plains for the Dakotas, Nebraska, Minnesota.
00:13That's what we're going to be tracking here for the next couple of days because big changes will
00:16be moving in. I'll detail those in a second. But in addition to the record-breaking heat,
00:21anytime it's this dry, anytime it's this windy, you get that combination of those two things.
00:25This is the result, especially along the I-29 corridor. This has been the highest risk
00:30for fire danger that we've seen across this region so far this season. As you're seeing right there
00:35in the video on the right-hand side of your screen from Northern Minnesota, widespread fires here
00:40continue across this area, especially these two fires, the Jenkins Fire and the Camp House Fire
00:45have combined to burn over 20,000 acres. So we're going to continue to track this for you here going
00:52forward. The good news is there will be some relief moving in, but it's going to take a while for that
00:55relief to work its way into the forecast. Temperature-wise here, it's been a very hot
00:59day. Once again, Fargo made it into the 90s, but we're not even at the peak heating of the day.
01:04But as we head into tomorrow, this one, we're going to start to watch out for some shower and
01:08thunderstorm chances back in the forecast, including a risk of severe weather. Here's an updated look

01:17will be capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, flooding rainfall, and yes, even an elevated
01:22tornado threat, especially this little bullseye we have right there across parts of South Dakota
