00:00Well, we have a very warm day today out ahead of a weak cool front that'll drop temperatures

00:04the next couple of days. Still above normal, still lots of sunshine, but temperatures will

00:07be a good 10 degrees cooler before things warm up yet again.

00:20So temperatures will soar into the low to mid 80s today across central and southern

00:24Minnesota. Again, 60s though in northwestern Minnesota, that weak cool front will divide

00:29the temperatures here across the state a little bit. We can see that wind shift on satellite imagery

00:33and just a few clouds with it. We're going to look for just some isolated, very isolated showers for

00:38northern Minnesota. That's going to be it as far as precip goes up front, mostly going through pretty

00:43quietly with just a wind shift. So if you do experience a spotty shower or two in northern

00:49Minnesota, consider yourself lucky because for the most part, there is just not a lot of moisture for

00:53that to produce much. Certainly nothing in the form of measurable rainfall. Behind the front, cooler

00:59tomorrow, near 70 in the Twin Cities, 60s across northern Minnesota, and cooler near Lake Superior.

01:05But those temperatures are still actually above normal for the date. So we're going to see fluctuations

01:09in temperature, but overall still above normal. And that upper level ridge still very pronounced here

01:14across the central U.S. with those two upper level lows still kind of sitting in place across the

01:20southwest and the east. Now that southwest one does track through the southern states, but overall the

01:26ridge really wants to stay in place here. As long as we have that upper level ridge in place overall in

01:31the central U.S., that means warmer than normal conditions and also pretty dry. It's hard to get much in the

01:36way of gulf moisture or significant storm systems to take advantage of any moisture when we have that

01:42upper level pattern in place. By Friday, we are back into the 80s across central and southern

01:47Minnesota. And we have another very weak cool front coming through. Friday night, a couple of very

01:52isolated showers similar to today. Consider yourself lucky if you get a shower. Certainly no widespread

01:58showers and unlikely to see much in the way of thunderstorms. In fact, with that ridge remaining

02:03overall in place and just these minor cool fronts coming through, temperatures are going to continue to

02:08be normal and actually build towards next week. We're talking about 80s for highs probably all of next

02:15week. Possibility of 90. About half the models produce 90 degrees at some point next week. This is the European

02:21model. 92 it has for next Thursday. Now that is still nine days away, but it's something to pay attention to since

02:29half the models are there already. In fact, when we crunch the numbers, about a 45% probability based on the

02:35different computer models we have right now for our first 90 next week. Now on average, that would come about May 31st

02:41in the modern average. So this would be a little early if we do it. Our 80 degree reading was a few days

02:46late. So we'll see how this pans out. 83 though today. Sunshine, warmer, that front blows through

02:52tonight. So cooler the next couple days, but still very nice. 71. Normal high is about 66. So we'll still

02:58be several degrees above that. Back into the 80s Friday. You notice lots of sunshine still here on the

03:03forecast. Just a few scattered clouds early Saturday. Otherwise, a sunny afternoon again. And just a touch

03:09cooler behind that weak front Friday night. 78 Saturday, but back into the 80s here Sunday,

03:14Monday. And again, we'll look for temperatures to be potentially even warmer than the low to mid 80s

03:19by the middle and latter part of next week.
