00:00Well, we take a look at some of the impressive rainfall totals over the last couple of days.

00:03That system still lingering with us today, but sunshine is back tomorrow.

00:07That means warmer temperatures, and we take a look at the holiday weekend.

00:20Impressive rainfall as forecasted, two to four inches of rain really adding up here along 94

00:26into especially east-central and south-central Minnesota, including much of the Twin Cities,

00:30getting some of the heaviest rainfall out of this system.

00:33We're averaging two to three and a half inches of rain really across the metro itself.

00:38Officially at the airport, over two inches of rain so far and counting,

00:42almost closing in on about two and a quarter inches.

00:45And we're not done yet. We have some lingering showers still today,

00:48though you'll notice compared to yesterday, those showers are much more widely scattered

00:53and kind of blotches here. Still a lot of low clouds,

00:55and that's going to keep the temperatures still cool today.

00:58Probably only around 50 for a high temperature.

01:00And we might see those showers kind of fill back in mid-afternoon.

01:04So kind of largely a dry break now with those showers,

01:07but a little bit of a flare-up, and then it will dissipate again

01:10as we head into the evening and overnight hours.

01:12And skies will be clearing from north to south overnight tonight.

01:16But as far as additional rainfall goes, maybe another couple tenths of an inch.

01:20So definitely lighter rainfall here.

01:22And it will be right along this swath of kind of following along I-94,

01:25right through the Twin Cities, where we see the bulk of the showers today.

01:3060s, though, with some hazy sun along the international border.

01:33Not often in the spring do we say International Falls is the place to be.

01:37But that's where it'll be warmer.

01:38Low to mid-60s there.

01:39Much cooler here in southern Minnesota.

01:41But those clouds decrease overnight.

01:43First clearing out in northern Minnesota.

01:44That's why it's going to be cold up there tonight.

01:46But by midday tomorrow, sunshine pretty much statewide.

01:49And we'll have more sun on Friday, too.

01:50And, of course, the sun this time of year, some of the strongest sunshine.

01:53So it makes a huge impact on those temperatures.

01:56Frosty, though, for northeastern Minnesota tonight.

01:58Frost advisory for the northeastern part of the state.

02:00They're going to see temperatures in the low to mid-30s,

02:02low to mid-40s here in southern Minnesota.

02:04And highs in the 60s.

02:06Pretty much statewide.

02:07Pretty uniform temperatures.

02:08Really the next few days.

02:10Not often do we see north and south temperatures being largely the same.

02:14Winds are lighter today, too.

02:16Still a little breezy, though, near Lake Superior.

02:18Takes a while to shut the wind off when it's coming out of the east on the Big Lake.

02:22And then tomorrow, winds will be light, too.

02:23So we're done with the blustery winds for the time being.

02:26That is some good news, too.

02:27And the weekend still looks pretty good.

02:29Definitely not a washout, but there will be a couple showers around.

02:31Looks like the major systems stay mostly to our south.

02:34But by especially Memorial Day, maybe even Sunday,

02:37we could see some isolated or spotty showers or thunderstorms.

02:40But when you add up Friday through Monday, this is the European model,

02:43this kind of tells the story.

02:44There'll be just some blotches of some spotty showers.

02:48Really not any kind of a washout.

02:50Certainly not a repeat of the last couple of days.

02:52And we should see a fair amount of sun, I think, too.

02:54But still looking like it's going to be slightly cooler than normal for the weekend.

02:58That cool pattern, though, shifts east.

03:00Upper level ridge building in for next week.

03:02That means temperatures will be more summer-like again.

03:0470s and 80s, especially by late next week.

03:08So the 6- to 10-day outlook still has that blob of cooler-than-normal temperatures

03:13in the central and southern part of the country.

03:15But you can see the warmth building into Minnesota,

03:17and especially in the 8- to 14-day outlook.

03:19So, yeah, things are going to be warming back up here.

03:21No surprise.

03:22It's that time of year.

03:23But still cooler than normal right through most of the holiday weekend.

03:26Memorial Day, we're back up to around 70.

03:28That's still a couple degrees below normal.

03:30But look at the 80s next week.

03:31So warmer temperatures if you really want that summer weather we had.

03:36Won't be quite that warm, but close by the later part of next week.

03:4052 today, maybe a little warmer than yesterday

03:43just because we're getting more breaks in the showers.

03:46But they're still around today into the evening.

03:48And then tomorrow, 65.

03:50Sunshine is back.

03:527 degrees below normal, but pretty nice.

03:54Same thing Friday.

03:56Again, the weekend, not looking too shabby.

03:58Upper 60s to near 70 degrees.

04:00With the best chance of those isolated or spotty showers Sunday night into Monday.

04:05And again, it looks like mainly northern Minnesota the better chance of that activity.

04:09Now, we'll be drying out overall, though, into next week

04:11as those conditions warm up here.
