Chief Secretary Farley Augustine is hopeful under this new UNC Government , Tobago would get more than the 4.3% of the national budget.
Mr. Augustine spoke with reporters at President's House in Trinidad.

00:00The recommendation that was accepted by Parliament is that the Tobago Assembly gets between 4.03% and 6.9%.
00:07We have often gotten closer to 4.03% and nowhere close to the middle ground.
00:13So in other words, out of every $100 spent in the country for development, Tobago historically gets about $4.03.
00:22So we are hoping that will change with the new government.
00:25More than that, we are hoping that when a budget is passed, that we actually get the full amounts that's appropriated in the bill.
