00:00Now, whilst Tottenham's season has been abysmal by their standards,
00:07there are changes looming.
00:10The focus now turns to which players the club must keep amid growing uncertainty.
00:15While Spurs started brightly, the campaign faded very fast
00:19and cracks in the squad became impossible to ignore.
00:23Now, with Postacoglu's future in serious doubt,
00:25the club faces a critical period of transition.
00:29Amid the turbulence, retaining core young talents like Mickie van der Verne,
00:32Destiny, Adoghie and Papi Matar Saar will be vital.
00:36Whether it's a new manager or a fresh direction, Spurs need a stable foundation
00:41and keeping hold of their brightest assets is the first step toward a reset.
00:46We spoke to James Trembath of London World with speculation mounting
00:50that Ange Postacoglu could step away from his role this summer.
00:54And, James, let's just look ahead to Spurs' summer.
01:00Now, obviously, we've mentioned there are still a few players who do have to keep it
01:06in terms of the squad going into next season, you know, manager, if changes or not.
01:13Who are the players you feel that Spurs have to keep, that Spurs, you know,
01:17have to really nail down?
01:18You know, we've mentioned a number of times that the younger players have been the shining light
01:22of such an abysmal season.
01:25The likes of those that are the key sort of players to take Spurs forward next season
01:30and obviously, you know, the likes of James Madison, Heung-Min Son.
01:33Where does their future stand in terms of, you know, seeing this Spurs rebuild across,
01:38you know, what has to be said, a massive summer in terms of Tottenham Hotspur?
01:42Yeah, it's a huge summer and I think that's, again, part of the reason why I think we should
01:47announce Ange's departure now, because we need to start planning.
01:50You know, we can't keep hold of him until the Europa League final.
01:53Should we win that?
01:54We could be in an Eric Ten Hagman United situation when they won the Cup last year.
01:58They decided to keep Ten Hag on and then they got rid of him halfway through this season
02:02and it ends up being another disaster for United.
02:04So, I really don't want that to be the case for Spurs.
02:06So, you're right, huge summer.
02:08We need to get on with the planning.
02:09I think in terms of who we want to keep, we obviously, you know,
02:12we want to start building the team around that core of the youth, you know,
02:15the likes of Archie Gray, who, you know, he's had a rough ride this season, I must admit.
02:19He's come in and filled in at centre-back when we've needed him.
02:23He's played right back.
02:25But now there's nothing riding on the league.
02:26He still can't get a game in midfield.
02:28So, you know, we really should be playing and that would also bore Ange a bit of time
02:32and put a bit of credit in the bank, in my opinion.
02:34So, we build it around Archie Gray.
02:36Lucas Bergwell has probably been the breakout star of the season.
02:38He's been absolutely tremendous since he's come in.
02:41Looks are real, real talent and what a steal for eight and a half million.
02:44So, they're, you know, two players we must keep and build around.
02:48Mikey Moore, who need to, you know, obviously a very, very talented young midfielder,
02:51albeit he's a young player.
02:54Mickey van der Ven is another one we need to keep hold of.
02:56Dian Kulicewski.
02:57You know, Destin Udogi, we've been linked with Manchester City.
03:01But again, when he's fit and he's firing, you know, we've seen the power and the pace
03:05and the performance against Frankfurt was, you know, absolutely off the scale.
03:09He was magnificent that night, probably the standout player.
03:11So, there's a real core and nucleus of that youth.
03:15You probably add Jed Spence to that as well.
03:17He's not put a foot wrong.
03:18You could argue Jed Spence, despite not kicking a ball till late September for Spurs
03:23in that League Cup tie at Coventry.
03:25He's probably been Spurs' best player this season.
03:27Very, very consistent.
03:29A little bit unfortunate, probably, to miss out and be on the bench
03:32for those two Europa League quarterfinal ties as well.
03:35And then, you know, we're looking at players who've got question marks over them,
03:39you know, the likes of Romero.
03:41He's done an interview this week, hasn't he?
03:43And, you know, almost laid it out that he wants to leave Spurs in the summer,
03:46albeit not quite saying that directly.
03:49Benton Kerr's contract is another one that's rumbling on.
03:52You've got the likes of Son.
03:54He's 33, or he will be.
03:56Come next season, you know, do we keep Son?
03:59Do we hang on to him for another season?
04:00Do we let him go to weigh in with that striker situation?
04:04I mean, Solanke's been fantastic this year.
04:06I mean, Charleston's done OK as well, to be fair, but he's never available.
04:10He's sort of made a glass a little bit, isn't he, in terms of the fitness there.
04:13So, we need to be looking at the centre-forward position.
04:16Wouldn't mind Liam De Lappe, if I'm totally honest, from Ipswich.
04:19I think he looks a real player and he could really, really add to that core nucleus
04:23of sort of that young, hungry group of players.
04:26And then, Odebe, showing flashes now again.
04:28I'd keep hold of him and try and build around him.
04:31And Matthias Tell, you know, will we take the option on him?
04:35Seems to be some noise around saying, you know, some say we will, some say we won't.
04:40Might well depend who the manager is.
04:41So, lots of big decisions I had this summer.
