Transcript
00:00In the 2025 general elections specific to Tobago, eight political parties and one independent
00:21candidate are contesting, with a total of 14 candidates vying for the Tobago East and West
00:28seats. What are some candidates on the ground saying?
00:33As it relates to the Honourable Minister, we don't look at the individual, we don't look
00:38at what they do, but we look at the policies and what their responsibilities are and what
00:42they are required to do for the island of Tobago. We know she gets a lot done, she does
00:48her thing with her I-Choose sports and other programmes, but these come like an overshadowing
00:53of the responsibility of the Tobago House of Assembly because most of these programmes,
00:58the Tobago House of Assembly has responsibility for already.
01:02What ideas the Patriotic Front has for Scarborough?
01:06First thing first, we need to get rid of the homeless persons in Scarborough because they
01:09are defecating and not just Scarborough, Crown Point as well.
01:12A walking distance away from the home of Kate Trotman, this TPP flag was observed in support
01:18of TPP candidate Joel Sampson. This was located in the Bon Accord area.
01:24We want to be able to give to Begonians the opportunity to have their voice truly heard
01:29in Parliament on the issues that happen at a national level.
01:32In that manifesto that I'll launch next week, it will talk about bringing international tourism
01:37here as I'm at the United Nations and building the NGO partnership, building partnership with
01:41the African nation, bringing in foreign investments.
01:44But what are people on the ground the same?
01:49Over the years, do you find enough has been done?
01:52Since Agustin has come on his business, he's doing pretty good.
02:03I think he needs some more time to develop Scarborough a little more.
02:08Are you happy with the representation of Minister Chamfer, Kodro Lewis?
02:15Well, I think she does a good job.
02:19I don't know about Ayana, but I know Kodro is doing a good job.
02:24No, I'm not happy with development in Scarborough.
02:27I find Scarborough could develop a local more into a local modern city.
02:32If you look around us and you see the amount of abandoned buildings around Andy, where all
02:37the place is right at this moment, I believe we could do with a lot of development in Scarborough.
02:43Okay.
02:44Are you happy with the representation of Mrs. Chamfer, Kodro Lewis?
02:49Or do you think there's time for change?
02:51I think, yes, there's time for change in some way, but I believe I don't care who you put
02:59there.
03:00It wouldn't make a difference.
03:01In terms of April 28th, who you would be voting for?
03:04Mm-mm.
03:05No.
03:06No.
03:07No.
03:08I listen to them on television, but I have made up my mind as well.
03:13Are you happy with the representation of Mrs. Chamfer, Kodro Lewis?
03:16I guess so.
03:17No.
03:18I'm happy with the peanut butter.
03:19But, then, just enjoy the waves.
03:23Team Six discovered these hummingbirds made out of coconut.
03:30Mr. Benjamin spoke with us at Swallows Beach about his invention.
03:35It didn't start off as an hatch and calf.
03:37We were actually cooking.
03:38So, apparently, you know, we had to cut out the coconut and things, and to grater and make
03:46and I find that a piece of coconut look like a bird and while whittling whittling whittling
03:52one thing turned into the next and there it is. From Cronk Point to Buku we gathered some laughs
03:59from 71 year old the president of the Chenet Tree Association. So you're saying to the people that
04:07they need to vote for the Chenet Tree Association? Yeah I am the president of the Chenet Tree Association.
04:15What's your name? Joseph Charles. You're the president. Tell us what do you want to see more occur in Buku?
04:23Has enough occurred in the village of Buku? More could be done especially where the sporting
04:31facilities are. I think more could be done to that. I think Samphakodro is a fighter and I think she's a
04:39strong woman and that's a girl I know from her childhood. I am Elizabeth Williams with tonight's
04:47constituency spotlight.
04:57you
