00:00All right, so here we go. Everybody's been asking me all weekend long, what did I think about the new Elvis movie?
00:08Because everybody knows that I'm a huge Elvis fan. I've been a huge Elvis fan since I was a little kid.
00:13So I didn't know what to expect going in. I'd heard a lot of mixed reviews from people that had already seen it.
00:20So I knew that it was going to have to be like on point to impress me. And let me tell you, it was.
00:30So this movie is two hours and 39 minutes long. So going in, we're like, man, that's a long movie.
00:36It was the fastest two hour and 39 minute movie that I've ever seen.
00:42In fact, when me and my wife and my brother walked out, we were like, I honestly could have sat through another hour of that movie.
00:50There actually is a four hour cut of it. Baz Luhrmann, the director, actually, the movie originally came in at four hours.
00:57They had to cut an hour and something out of it to make it two hours and 39 minutes.
01:01I would love to see the rest of it because it moves very fast.
01:06It is. There is no downtime in this movie whatsoever.
01:08I mean, you got to be like ready to go on a roller coaster ride almost.
01:13But there was a lot of stuff that was left out, a lot of things that if you're an Elvis fan or even if you're not, if you're kind of casually know about him and his career, there's a lot of things that were left out.
01:26There was also a lot of things that were they kind of happened the way that they happened in the movie.
01:34But then again, they kind of didn't.
01:36There were some things where my wife would lean over to me and go, did it really happen like that?
01:39I was like, well, sort of.
01:41So I don't want to give too much away.
01:43But even that even those like historical inaccuracies didn't really matter because it was still all so well done.
01:51I will say the attention to detail in this movie is incredible.
01:55I've never seen someone get the costumes exactly right, the sets exactly right.
02:03I mean, they all the way down to the little tiniest minute details on certain songs and certain performances.
02:10It was really, really well done.
02:12But if Austin Butler does not get nominated for an Academy Award, a Goldie, something, if he doesn't get some sort of recognition for his role as Elvis Presley, I will be shocked because I have never seen anyone portray Elvis the way that Austin did.
02:33I mean, there's been a lot of other, you know, TV movies, made for TV movies, whatever.
02:37But Austin Butler killed it.
02:39I mean, he nailed Elvis's mannerisms.
02:42He nailed his walk, the way he would say words, the way he would get mad.
02:48Like he nailed it.
02:50And Tom Hanks is Colonel Tom Parker.
02:52I mean, he portrayed Colonel the way that Colonel really was.
02:56The Colonel was not a great person.
02:59And you'll see that in this movie.
03:01So I highly recommend it.
03:04I think that, I mean, it was the number one movie at the box office tied with Top Gun Maverick,
03:08which has been number one for the past, what, month?
03:12So in order for it to tie Top Gun, I mean, it had to be pretty good, right?
03:16I loved it.
03:17My brother, who is also a huge Elvis fan, he loved it as well.
03:21My wife.
03:22And I'm seeing a lot of people who have already seen it on Facebook and Instagram and stuff.
03:27They loved it too.
03:28So definitely go check it out.
03:30I would definitely give it solid 8.5 to 9, only because I wanted more.
03:41I wanted more.
03:43It left me walking out of the movie theater going, I could have done another hour of that.
03:49So Elvis, go see it.
03:51Huge, huge hit.
03:53Huge success.
03:55So there you go.
03:56Everybody's been wondering what the hardcore Elvis fan was going to think of the new Elvis movie.
04:01And I loved it.
04:02And I think that you're going to love it too.
04:03Go check it out.
