00:00Chuck, what are you doing now?
00:01I've been meaning to start a letter campaign to bring back Pumpkin Spice 5-Hour Energy.
00:07Save your ink! It's already back!
00:10You're welcome.
00:11But you didn't do anything!
00:13Didn't I?
00:22It sucks to be old.
00:25Well, just based on that...
00:27Yeah, I was gonna say, I wonder why it sucked.
00:29You can kind of figure out who won the battle.
00:3271-year-old man versus 12-foot gator.
00:36Did it take him?
00:38Did it kill him, Dave?
00:39Just out fishing.
00:41Yeah, but he...
00:42Just out fishing.
00:44Are we playing this little happy music with a death?
00:48Yep.
00:49It sucks to be old, Lisa!
00:51It sucks!
00:53Hey, what happened to Grandpa?
00:55This is way too upbeat!
00:57Oh!
00:57Do-do-do!
00:58There's a gator!
00:59Do-do-do-do-do-do!
01:01Oh, gator!
01:01Ow!
01:02Ow!
01:02Ow!
01:02Ow!
01:02Ow!
01:02It's got my leg!
01:03You're so crazy!
01:05It's right down the water!
01:07There I go to the bottom!
01:09Oh, my God!
01:10That old poor man!
01:12Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!
01:14Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!
01:17Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!
01:19Blah!
01:19Blah!
01:20Blah!
01:21I didn't expect it to be, but he died!
01:23Oh, yeah, he's dead!
01:24Aw!
01:25He's dead!
01:26What happened?
01:27Did it rip his legs off and his arms off?
01:29Did he find him?
01:30Well, he did eventually and then shoved him into a log?
01:33Or is he missing?
01:34Let's get this story.
01:35All right.
01:36This is one of two senior death stories.
01:39Oh, wow!
01:40All right!
01:41Oh, wow!
01:44Just bring the music down for a second, Chuck, and then we'll bring it back up.
01:49But first, here's the Florida man that was killed by a gator.
01:52Oh.
01:52The staggering scene at a Florida lake after a deadly alligator attack.
01:57Watch as the large alligator is wrangled from the water and onto land outside Orlando.
02:02A team of wildlife officers dragging the roughly 12-foot creature, its powerful jaw open.
02:08Here, you can see as it's secured shut.
02:11Authorities say it's the same gator that attacked and killed 71-year-old Stephen Hamilton,
02:15who was fishing at a retention pond near the lake Friday.
02:18They saw one individual that was possibly grabbed by an alligator and pulled into the water.
02:25It has not resurfaced.
02:26A short time later, wildlife trappers killing the alligator they believe was responsible.
02:32That was the alligator being dispatched.
02:35Removed as a danger to the public.
02:37Fire officials say active alligators in the area got in the way of rescue efforts.
02:41We do, however, have alligators that are confirmed in the vicinity of the body.
02:47Connor Kelly, who occasionally fished alongside Hamilton, heartbroken.
02:51It instantly just devastated.
02:55My stomach dropped because I was so worried that it was Steve.
02:57He was a very kind man, very relatable.
03:00Florida wildlife officials say alligator attacks are rare and typically occur as gators search for food or protect their nests.
03:08It looks like it's docile.
03:09It looks like your Florida emblem, but it can be dangerous.
03:12Tonight, the investigation into the tragedy at the lake is ongoing.
03:16George Solis, NBC News.
03:19Wow.
03:22There is, you know, there's water on both sides.
03:24It's this little bit of land, so that's tough.
03:27That's a dangerous spot.
03:28From behind.
03:29Yeah, from behind.
03:31And as a 71-year-old, your reaction time is much slower.
03:35You're as good as dad, dude.
03:36You shouldn't be fishing there.
03:38No, you shouldn't.
03:39They got in their feet.
03:40No.
03:41You should not.
03:41They just come running out of the water.
03:43Yeah.
03:43He's fished like that for probably 60 years.
03:47Yeah.
03:47On the edge of one of these things and nothing's ever happened.
03:50But that is the worst.
03:52Steve, you got one on the line.
03:54Good catch.
03:55What?
03:59I got a big one.
04:00Lisa, you got to do the art like this guy did.
04:03I know.
04:03I noticed his art.
04:04I was mesmerized.
04:06I didn't hear what he said.
04:08Three different pictures of his golden retriever.
04:10I was like, oh my God, that's amazing.
04:11It's so great.
04:13It's like a model shoot, but with his dog.
04:17I love it.
04:18That's good.
04:19Yeah.
04:19I almost did that with butts.
04:21Oh my God.
04:22Yeah.
04:23All right.
04:23Now onto our other deadly senior story.
04:26All right.
04:27Again, it's just not being able to react as fast.
04:30That's what can get you as you get older, right?
04:32Yes.
04:33And that's the same in our next story.
04:35It's not a gator that got her.
04:38It's a burger.
04:40A burger.
04:42Bad shoot.
04:43Couldn't chew it fast enough.
04:44What is the deal?
04:45No, she stopped to pick fast food up.
04:47Mm-hmm.
04:48And I think got out of her car to throw the garbage away.
04:52Oh, pinned.
04:54Forgot to put the car.
04:55Yeah.
04:56Run over.
04:56Killed herself.
04:58Yep.
04:58Killed by her own car.
05:05Oh, this is the longest this song has ever played, I think.
05:08We got 14 more minutes of it.
05:11Mm.
05:13Mm.
05:13Mm-hmm.
05:15Oh, let me just, uh, let me just take this garbage real quick.
05:19Oh, I can't quite reach it.
05:21I would hate to miss by and just toss it.
05:25Let me open up the door a bit and get my leg out.
05:28Oh.
05:30Oh, heavens, Tabaxi.
05:32Oh.
05:35Heaven, Tabaxi got me.

05:53has the details. A stop at a fast food restaurant ending in tragedy. More police say a woman in
06:01her 60s is dead after running herself over in a fast food parking lot Thursday evening.
06:07This happened near Southwest 19th and telephone. The vehicle rolled backwards after she got out.
06:14Police say she was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries where she later died.
06:20When she attempted to get out of the vehicle, the vehicle was not placed in park. And when the
06:26driver exited the vehicle, the vehicle began to roll. The crash is still under investigation,
06:31but police say at this point, it's believed to have been an accident. This is just a really sad
06:37accident, it seems like. And our thoughts and our deepest condolences go out to her family and
06:42loved ones. Police say the name won't be released until all family is notified. In more,
06:48Olivia Hickey, KOCO 5 News. Does it seem like there might be more going on with that woman
06:53in her 60s? Like, how do you, how does this happen? Like, is she? Listen, we knew someone
06:57in their 50s. No, I know. But like, was she, you know, was some, you know, what was her condition,
07:04her mindset? Like what? Yeah, I get it. I mean, I do get it. I also think we live in
07:11a time
07:12where we've, we've changed up the way cars are put into park. Yeah. You know, and it is jumping
07:20up and biting some older folk. I mean, I can't stand it. I honestly can't. Like there's three
07:27cars in my life that are, it's all three different ways of how you actually get a car. Some is
07:33a
07:33spinny. Yeah. Some is a spinny. Uh, you know, some are like a stick that you got to push up
07:40or just push a button on top. Yeah. It's a button just on top. Ambers is a button too. And
07:45it confused
07:46me the first time. That's what I'm saying. See? Yeah. Good as dead. This could be me if I get
07:50a new
07:50car. Yeah. Yeah. That's it. You're used to it. I got Legos. I got a shifter. The shifter is not
07:57even
07:57like a real shifter anymore. What? It's different. No, it's just sucks to be Jason. Yeah. Yeah. A button.
08:04A button. Stumping down. Just a button. It's not that big of a deal. That's crazy. You should be able
08:09to figure it out. Yeah. But I don't mind it. It'll get you because you're so used to like, I'm
08:14so used
08:15to driving my car and I just push it in park. Right. Yeah. And Ambers is a button. I'm like,
08:20oh yeah. I'm
08:21always like, am I? Well, because you're, my brain says, push this thing up to the very top.
08:27Yeah. And that would be park. Well, all that is, is reverse. If you don't hit the button on top,
08:35then you're not in park. You know, when you fly into the cracker barrel. And I guarantee that some
08:41of these people, it's like, it's jumping up and it's biting people. That could be the way I see
08:45Stella in the car with the dial. It scares me because she's just like, like spinning like wheel of
08:53fortune style. And like, it's going to the right spot and stuff. And I'm like,
08:57what are we in? Jesus. To add to that, do you guys always remember to turn your car off?
09:03Yes. Yes. You don't, Ryan.
09:05Just Saturday, went into Meyer, came out, car was completely gone. I literally did this.
09:12I do it all the time. Yep. I did this at a, at a hot and it should be, it
09:18should be available.
09:20Prepared? Yep. Fully running. Thought I turned it off. Went inside and hit the button to, to go.
09:26And I realized, oh, I just powered my Jeep down. Yep. It happens. You were grocery shopping.
09:33So anyone could just take it off in your car. Oh yeah. I don't know. I think it might be
09:37like
09:37a family thing. My dad did it at a tiger's game when I was little. So for the whole tiger's
09:42game.
09:42Thank God the guy in the parking lot was like, dude, you left it on. I grabbed the keys for
09:46you.
09:47Oh, nice. That's nice. That's old school. Yeah. That's not like it. Now it's like,
09:51we to grab your keys and took it. It is now on way to Dubai. Yes.
09:58Yeah. That is a, you're lucky, man. You're lucky that no one, cause you see a car running
10:04and that is just like, please take me. Yeah. I mean, I put my keys on the hood.
10:08I mean, I will. Please do.
