Woman killed and two people injured after multi-car crash and shooting

A 22-year-old woman is dead and two people injured after a multi-car crash and shooting on the Bruce highway at the sunshine coast. Police say a man has been arrested and three separate crime scenes are being investigated.

00:00The Bruce Highway brought to a standstill.

00:05Police say the multi-car crash was allegedly caused by the driver of this red Porsche,

00:11leaving a woman dead and a man in a serious condition.

00:15The male driver of another car was then shot in the arm during an alleged carjacking.

00:21He drove to another location where that subsequent vehicle was crashed.

00:27He got out of that vehicle and hijacked another vehicle, allegedly using a firearm.

00:34This next target was driven by a Lerner driver whose parents were also on board.

00:40The alleged offender was arrested on Steve Irwin Way.

00:44He was located not far from where he'd taken that vehicle and apprehended by police.

00:50The highway was closed for southbound traffic, left waiting for hours.

00:55It's really nice to see all the people helping each other, swapping nappies for water and all that kind of Australian spirit, I guess.

01:02It is what it is. Everybody hopes everyone's alright, but I don't think that's going to be the case, unfortunately.

01:07There are a lot of people travelling along the Bruce Highway over the Easter long weekend

01:11and police are hopeful that some of them may have dash cam that is pertinent to this investigation.
