00:00In his Good Friday statement, as he extended greetings today to the Christian community,
00:06Prime Minister Young says,
00:08During this period, we all reflect upon the earthly life of Christ,
00:13his betrayal, trial, humiliation, torture, crucifixion and death,
00:19followed by his resurrection.
00:21He says, we can see here a human struggle,
00:24with which we can make some connection,
00:26as it contains, among other aspects, to the dark side of human beings.
00:33Further, he notes, in this world of the 21st century,
00:37many sceptics continue the questioning of the teachings of Christ.
00:41He says, it is now a world with artificial intelligence,
00:45where it is rapidly being woven into the tapestry of everyday existence.
00:50It seems omnipresent, presenting opportunities,
00:53but challenges, alongside climate change,
00:56territorial wars, and economic uncertainty.
01:00According to the Prime Minister's statement,
01:02the message of Christ stands above,
01:06offering the assurance of a spiritual path,
01:09which embodies unshakable, universal, moral and civic values,
01:15such as honesty, integrity, humility, compassion,
01:19discipline, tolerance, cooperation and justice.
01:23He adds, underlying these is an ethic of love.
01:29This is not a limited or precarious love,
01:32but a phenomenon that can embrace every dimension of our lives,
01:37exciting us to spontaneously show care,
01:40trust, commitment, responsibility and respect to each other.
