00:00Former Attorney General and local government minister Faris al-Rawi wasn't expecting what transpired at a UNC campaign meeting in Separia on Monday night.
00:09I was shocked to see John Jeremy on a UNC platform.
00:14In 2004, John Jeremy, Senior Counsel, then Attorney General, sued Burke Hillman Consultants, Steve Ferguson, Roald Gutierrez Jr., and former UNC Finance Minister Brian Quietung for hundreds of millions of dollars amidst scating corruption allegations concerning the Piaulco International Airport under the Bastio-Pande administration.
00:34Mr. Jeremy prosecuted the criminality and allegations against the UNC.
00:42I say criminality because people went to jail in the United States of America.
00:46Al-Rawi took over that inquiry matter and is still managing it as some of the allegations are still before the court.
00:53While Jeremy didn't make mention of it, he did reference his fight with the UNC.
00:58I have fought bitter battles in the parliament against many of you who are seated here.
01:08So there was John Jeremy on a UNC platform promoting the UNC, and some people in the UNC were in fact in the UNC government against whom allegations stood.
01:22Kamala Passat-Pisessa was an attorney general during that time.
01:27Al-Rawi says what Jeremy did is far beyond contradiction.
01:30You saw Mr. Jeremy as a blue market crab, tied up snugly over a pot of boiling water, about to make his way towards a Callaloo for a Sunday lunch.
01:43That is how tied up he was.
01:46As for what Jeremy's move signals for the PNM, Al-Rawi says for the past 15 years, his name is only a mere mention in terms of service to the country.
01:55Therefore, he is of zero consequence in terms of the reality of Trinidad and Tobago politics.
02:00Al-Rawi believes Jeremy has questions to answer.
