A Chaguanas man is among six held for possession of illegal guns and ammunition and police recover a stolen vehicle. More in our Crime Wrap.

00:00We begin tonight's crime map with an exercise by the Southern Division which
00:04led to the seizure of 2.2 kilograms of cannabis wrapped in gift paper. The TTPS
00:11said the fine was made during an anti-crime exercise which specifically
00:14targeted areas like Union Road, Tooruba, Old Trail Line, Flower Pot Beach and
00:20Suknenan Street. During the search at Suknenan Street, officers found the
00:24drugs in an empty lot. In the north, officers seized guns and arrested a TNT
00:29national and five illegal Venezuelan nationals. In the east, officers searched
00:33a house at Heights of Conapo in Arima and found one Glock 17 pistol with three
00:39magazines and 63 rounds of ammunition. Five Venezuelan nationals and a 22-year
00:45old Trinidad national were arrested. Officers also went to Clarence Street,
00:49Valencia where they found one Glock 17 pistol loaded with a magazine containing
00:5410 rounds of ammunition. Last on our list, police have recovered a stolen
00:59Nissan Teeter. Reports are that while conducting an operation in the San Juan
01:04district, officers stopped a silver Nissan Teeter with a defective rear
01:09registration plate along 6th Avenue Malik. Upon further investigation, they
01:15found that the vehicle had been tampered with. The driver did not have a driver's
01:20permit nor the insurance registration for the car. Officers later found that
01:25the chassis number matched that of a vehicle reported stolen from the Piaco
01:29district on the 28th of February. The driver, identified as a prior offender,
01:35was arrested and the car impounded.
