People of London: Should school holidays be reduced?

We ask Londoners if they think school holidays are too long.

00:00That seems silly. I don't like the idea of it. That is the first I've heard of it, so I can't say much, my knowledge on it.

00:07But I imagine it's to do with wanting to compete and be academically, you know, top internationally and stuff,

00:15which I don't necessarily think is the most wise motivator for children.

00:25I feel children should be allowed to be children, man. Like, there is, you know, that element of having to be educated and everything,

00:35but I feel kids should be allowed to grow at their own pace.

00:38I don't have a strong opinion, although, funnily enough, just came from a cafe where one of the chaps in there literally said,

00:43I don't remember our school holidays ever being as long as this. So, you know, anecdotally, our school holidays longer than they were.

00:49No idea. But for me, yeah, education is massive for kids. So I'd be supportive of stronger education, but I don't have kids myself.
